Their work conditions directly affect the safety of staff and production. In the paper, the performance of the contra-rotating axial flow fan is experi- mentally investigated. The study is focused on the fan performance, the shaft power and the match between the motor and fan efficiency at different blade angles. The results show that the blade angle 43°/26° has the best aerodynamic perfor- mance. The first engine has a greater impact on the fan than the second one. The blade angle with the best aerodynamic performance does not necessarily correspond to the one with the best match between the motor and fan efficiency. The blade angle 43°/24° is the best choice for the operation of the fan in the present study.展开更多

A specific objective function is proposed in order to select the better wind farm configuration, based upon the profits related to the economic trading in the deregulated electric market and the costs due to investment, operation & management, and to system unavailability. This objective function is accurately investigated as a function of the turbines number in order to derive the most convenient alternative, which implies also the optimal choice of the single wind generators size. The ranking coming out from this assessment is then compared with that one established in terms of expected load not supplied. A compromise choice, between the best alternatives provided by the two criteria has finally adopted. A simple numerical application is reported in the last part of the paper for testing the validity of the proposed approach. Also uncertainty aspects in the basic input parameters are taken into account and possible way of dealing with them is briefly illustrated.展开更多

[Metbod]Taking soybean peptide and corn peptide as materials, different concentrations of soy-corn protein isolate solution were pre- pared. Through pretreatment, and based on compound protease, flavor protease, neutral protease, papaya protease, pineapple hydrolysis, and by measuring the degree of hydrolysis activity and enzyme activity, tested enzyme was determined. Mixing two of those enzymes in certain proportion and by orthogonal test, the optimal condition of enzyme hydrolysis of a double was determined. [ Result] The optimal hydrolysis condition was 2% of substrate concentration, 1 : 1of hydrolyze compound protease and flavor protease, and 8 h of hydrolysis time, 75.14% of DH. [ Condasien] The study provided a basis for the development and application of active peptides from corn and soybean by bi-enzyme hydrolysis.展开更多

Although these energy resources are sustainable and have the potential of reducing the world carbon foot print, there are costs associated with its utilization. In recent time, electricity from alternative energy sources like wind and solar are not cost competitive with electricity from the conventional power plant. This paper is aimed at investigating the optimum investment in a typical wind farm project using a TSA (time series analysis) alongside simple economic tool, AAP (annual annuity payment) model. This study involves a year round analysis of (8,760h) at different wind farm capacity connected to a 132/33kV DS (distribution system). It also focused on digressing from the technical and environmental benefits to financial assessment of increasing wind generation capacity in the DS. Indeed, this development presents a risk of investment to the stakeholders which necessitates proper scrutiny and to ensure profitability of the venture. The level of capital cost along with operation and maintenance (OM) costs are either financed by private or public sectors on wind farm with the sole aim of achieving the ROI (return-on-investment). The results obtained from this study shows the possible ROI is not proportional to the wind capacity invested. Also, a sensitivity analysis conducted revealed the profit derived from wind farm is more responsive to the investment/capital cost and the price at which the electricity is being sold.展开更多
