WTE technologies will burn waste that is fed and utilized energy generated to be converted into electrical energy. This technology has the potential to reduce the volume of waste more effectively, but WTE also emit various harmful contaminants, including Polychlorinated Dibenzofurans (PCDF) and Polychlorinated Dibenzo-p-Dioxins (PCDDs). WTE equipped with air pollution control, so that the emission of harmful contaminants can be controlled and detected continuously. This study only discusses contaminants PCDF and PCDDs, and the effect of air pollution control work against public health risks. In this study, the efficiency of air pollution control is assumed at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 90% and 99%, while the public health risk assessment carried out for the projected 15 years into the future. Public health risk assessment carried out by the calculation of the health risk of carcinogenic (liver cancer). A causal relationship between the independent variable efficiency of air pollution control with one dependent variable number of liver cancer patients, obtained the simple linear regression equation Y = 76.4592 - 0.7692X.展开更多

The threshold values for the existence and stability of pest eradication periodic solution are provided under the assumptions of releasing natural enemies either more or less frequent than spray. In order to address how the different pulse time points, control tactics affect the pest control (i.e. the threshold value), the Holling Type II Lotka-Volterra predator- prey system, as an example, with impulsive intervention at different time points axe investigated carefully. The numerical results show how the threshold values are affected by the factors including instantaneous killing rates of pesticides on pests and natural enemies, the release rate of natural enemies and release constant, timing of pesticide application and timing of release period. Furthermore, it is confirmed that the system has the coexistences of pests and natural enemies for a wide range of parameters and with quite different pest amplitudes.展开更多

The authors show that the conditions for global attractivity of the 'pest-eradication' periodic solution and permanence of the system depend on time delay, hence, the authors call it "profitless". Further, the authors present a pest management strategy in which the pest population is kept under the economic threshold level (ETL) when the pest population is uniformly persistent. By numerical analysis, the authors also show that constant maturation time delay for the susceptible pests and pulse releasing of the infectious pests can bring obvious effects on the dynamics of system.展开更多

Electromagnetic technology has been used in forest pests control as a convenient and high-efficient physics means. This article summaries the current study of the electromagnetic biological effect and introduces the appfication of microwave, pulsed electromagnetic field and electrostatic field to forest pests control. The research direction and prospect of the application of electromagnetic theory and technology to forest pests control arc also discussed.展开更多

For the model with fixed impulsive effects, the global stability of pest eradi- cation periodic solution and the dominance of dynamic behavior are investigated. This indicates that the model with fixed moments has the potential to protect the natural enemies from extinction, but under some conditions may also serve to extinction of the pest. The second model is constructed according to the practices of IPM, that is, when the pest population reaches the economic injury level, a combination of biological, cultural, and chemical tactics that reduce pests to tolerable levels is used. Numerical investigations imply that there are several different types of periodic solutions and their maximum amplitudes are always less than the given economic threshold. The results also show that the time series at which the IPM strategies are applied are quite complex, which means that the application and realization of IPM in practice are very difficult.展开更多
