To get a better understanding of the spatial impact of organic discharges on stream water quality,a "scenario-testing" approach was proposed to examine how a change in plant treatment efficiency would affect...To get a better understanding of the spatial impact of organic discharges on stream water quality,a "scenario-testing" approach was proposed to examine how a change in plant treatment efficiency would affect dissolved oxygen(DO) concentration along a stream.An "upper-lower" boundary technique was applied to conduct sensitivity analysis to observe the responses of DO concentration to different DO-related parameters.The results show a non-linear discrepancy of biochemical oxygen demand(BOD) and DO concentration among different treatment scenarios,which indicates the higher the efficiency of the plant treatment,the shorter the time the stream needs to recover.The sensitivity analysis reveals that the larger the amount of the waste discharge,the more sensitive the BOD to the biological removal parameter.In addition,the DO is more sensitive to the biological removal parameter than to the reaeration parameter.展开更多
White organic light-emitting diodes were fabricated by using a novel phosphorescence bis(1,2-diphenyl-1H-benzoimidazole)iridium(acetylacetonate)[(pbi)2Ir(acac)] as sensitizer and a fluorescent dye of 4- (dicy...White organic light-emitting diodes were fabricated by using a novel phosphorescence bis(1,2-diphenyl-1H-benzoimidazole)iridium(acetylacetonate)[(pbi)2Ir(acac)] as sensitizer and a fluorescent dye of 4- (dicyanomethylene)-2-t-butyl-6-(1,1,7,7-tetramethyljulolidyl-9-enyl)-4H-pyran (DCJTB) codoped into a carbazole polymer of poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK). Through characterizing the UV-Vis absorption spectra, the photoluminescence spectra of (pbi)2Ir(acac) and DCJTB, and the electroluminescence spectral properties of the WOLEDs, the energy transfer mechanisms of the codoped polymer system were deduced. The results demonstrate that the luminescent spectra with different intensity of (pbi)2Ir(acac) and DCJTB were co-existent in the EL spectra of the blended system, which is ascribed to an incomplete energy transfer process in the EL process. The efficient Forster and Dexter energy transfer between the host and the guests enabled a strong yellow emission from (pbi)2Ir(acac) and DCJTB, where (pbi)2Ir(acac) plays an important role as a phosphorescent sensitizer for DCJTB. With the blue emitting-layer of N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(1- naphthyl)(1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-diamine, the codoped system device achieved white emission. The codoped system showed that its Commissions Internationale de 1'Eclairage coordinates were more independent of the variation of bias voltage than those of phosphorescent doped PVK systems.展开更多

The problem analyzed in paper concerns thyristor controlled direct current motor used for ski-lift in ski resort as a source of disturbances with negative impact on sensitive electric equipment, which is then unable to operate correctly. To solve mentioned problems, series of measurements of voltage quality parameters were carried out according to the respective valid standards. Crucial power quality parameters necessary for parallel power active filter design were then analyzed. Power active filter compensates power factor and filters characteristic current harmonics. After power active filter was put into operation, power quality problems were eliminated. Payback period is estimated up to four years.展开更多
We have successfully employed metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) technique to simultaneously deposit double-sided YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) films on both sides of YzO3/yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ)/Ce...We have successfully employed metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) technique to simultaneously deposit double-sided YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) films on both sides of YzO3/yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ)/CeO2 (YYC) buffered biaxially textured Ni-5 at.% W substrates, which is of great prospect to cut the production cost of YBCO coated conductors. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that both sides of YBCO film were purely c-axis oriented and highly textured. The co-scan of (005) YBCO and Ф-scan of (103) YBCO yielded full width at half maximum (FWHM) values of 4.9° and 6.6° for one side of double-sided YBCO film, respectively, as well as 4.4° and 6.4° for the other side. The current transportation measurements performed on such double-sided 500 nm-thickness YBCO films showed the self-field critical current density (Jc) at 77 K of 0.6 MA/cm^2 and 1.2 MA/cm^2, respectively. Further research is in the process of exploring new solution to improve the Jc in practice.展开更多
