We introduce the mesh refinement and mesh recoarsement into the traditional structured mesh subdivision. By refining the horizontal grids, the singularity owing to the point source is minimized and the topography is simulated. By recoarsening the horizontal grids, the number of grid cells is reduced significantly and computational efficiency is improved. Two typical models of the geological bodies were designed, and forward calculation was carried out using finite element method. The forward-modeled profiles were obtained. 1% Gaussian random error was added in the forward models and then 2D and 3D inversions using a high-density resistivity method were undertaken to realistically simulate field data and analyze the sensitivity of the 2D and 3D inversion algorithms to noise. Contrast between the 2D and 3D inversion results of least squares inversion shows that two inversion results of high-density resistivity method all can basically reflect the spatial position of an anomalous body. However, the 3D inversion can more effectively eliminate the influence of interference from Gaussian random error and better reflect the distribution of resistivity in the anomalous bodies. Overall, the 3D inversion was better than 2D inversion in terms of embodying anomalous body positions, morphology and resistivity properties.展开更多

The exponential attenuation boundary condition suitable for rugged topography is proposed to solve the cutoff botmdary problem as well as to consider the requirement of using the same subdivision grid in joint multifrequency inversion. The proposed method introduces the attenuation factor, and by adjusting it, acoustic waves are sufficiently attenuated in the attenuation layer to minimize the cutoff boundary effect. Based on the law of exponential attenuation, expressions for computing the attenuation factor and the thickness of attenuation layers are derived for different frequencies. In multifrequency-domain FWI, the conjugate gradient method is used to solve equations in the Gauss-Newton algorithm and thus minimize the computation cost in calculating the Hessian matrix. In addition, the effect of initial model selection and frequency combination on FWI is analyzed. Examples using numerical simulations and FWI calculations are used to verify the efficiency of the proposed method.展开更多

The initial equilibrium condition of the coupling system model is verified by nonlinear static analysis. The transient dynamic analysis method is proposed to analyze the variation law of dynamic response under cable or insulator rupture, and the dynamic response of structural elements next to the broken span is calculated. The results show that upper crossarm cable rupture has no effect on cable tension at adjacent suspension points, but it has a significant influence on tension in the insulator and the tower component of the upper crossarm next to the broken span. The peak tension in the conductor of the upper crossarm at the suspension point exceeds the design value under insulator rupture. Insulator rupture has no effect on the tower component of the upper crossarm, but it has a significant influence on insulator tension of the upper crossarm. Insulator rupture should be taken into account in the design of overhead transmission lines. The research results can provide a theoretical basis for the design of transmission lines.展开更多

Crank-Nicolson explicit and implicit schemes using centered or upwind approximations to the derivative are studied. We present numerical computations, which determine experimentally the parameter-uniform rates of convergence. We note that this rate is rather weak, due probably to mixed sources of error such as initial and boundary layers and the discontinuity in the derivative of the solution.展开更多

The element has six degrees of freedom at each comer node, five of which are the essential external degrees of freedom and the additional sixth is associated with the in-plane shell rotation. The displacement fields of the element satisfy the exact requirement of rigid body modes of motion. The element is based on independent strain assumption insofar as it is allowed by the compatibility equations. The element developed herein is first validated by applying it to the analysis of a benchmark problem involving a standard spherical shell with simply supported edges. The results of the analysis showed that reasonably accurate results were obtained even when modeling the shells using fewer elements compared to other shell element types. The element is then used in a finite element model to analyze polygon shaped spherical roof structures. The distribution of the various components of deflection and stress is obtained. Furthermore, the effect of introducing circular arched beams as stiffeners spanning the two diagonally opposite end comers is investigated. It is found that the stiffeners reduced the deflections and the stresses in the roof structure by considerable value.展开更多

Rate of penetration is the key to economically drill the pre-salt carbonate rock. This work presents the results of numerical modeling through finite element method and discrete element method for single cutter drilling in carbonate samples. The work is relevant to understand the mechanics of drill bit-rock interaction while drilling deep wells and the results were validated with experimental data raised under simulated downhole conditions. The numerical models were carried out under different geometrical configurations, varying the cutter chamfer size and back-rake angles. The forces generated on the cutter are translated into mechanical specific energy as this parameter is often used to measure drilling efficiency. Results indicate that the chamfer size does not change significantly the mechanical specific energy values, characteristic. Results also show there is a significant increase although the cutter aggressiveness is influenced by this geometrical in drilling resistance for larger values of back-rake angle.展开更多

Most current calculation of section torsional inertia moment is an approximate analytic method for two-dimensional cross-section, which is not fully consistent with the actual situation, and do not consider the effects of diaphragm in bridge. In order to analyze accurately cable-stayed bridge, suspension bridge and other complex bridge structures based on beam element, the calculation method of section torsional inertia moment based on finite element method (FEM) is invented in this paper. Firstly, setting up local cantilever fine model with solid element or shell element and applying torsion on the end of cantilever. Secondly, calculating the torsion angle of cantilever by FEM method and then the torsional moment through equivalent beam method. Finally, the examples of the section torsional moment calculation of concrete model with solid element with diaphragm and steel girder box model with shell element with diaphragm are used to verify the calculation method, which is applied to the suspension bridge design and construction control special software SBNA developed by Research Institute of Highway Ministry of Transport. Taizhou Bridge under construction is one of the examples.展开更多

Then, it has been simulated the transient a three-dimensional model to study the heating phenomenon with two assumption values of heat generation. To control for the working of this equipment, cooling process was modeled by choosing one from different cooling technique. Results also show there is a significant increase although the cutter aggressiveness is influenced by this geometrical in drilling resistance for larger values of back-rake angle.

文摘Currently, for the analysis of complex bridge based on beam element, the calculation of cross-section torsional inertia moment is still an unresolved technical problem. Taizhou Bridge under construction is one of the examples.
文摘The satisfactory performance of electrical equipments depends on their operating temperature. In order to maintain these devices within the safe temperature limits, an effective cooling is needed. High heat transfer rate of compact in size and reliable operation are the challenges of a thermal design engineer of electronic equipment. Then, it has been simulated the transient a three-dimensional model to study the heating phenomenon with two assumption values of heat generation. To control for the working of this equipment, cooling process was modeled by choosing one from different cooling technique. Constant low speed fan at one direction of air flow was used for cooling to predict the reducing of heating temperature through working of this equipment. Numerical Solution of finite difference time domain method (FDTD) has been utilized to simulate the temporal and spatial temperature profiles through two processes, which would minimize the solution errors.
