What are the implications of such a delivery system for coverage of local issues and the Jeffersonian ideal of an informed citizenry？ This study employs a content analysis of outsourced and local newscasts, using a data set of more than 1,000 stories from more than 30 hours of newscasts to determine if differences exist on story topics and source types. Does one type of station cover more public affairs stories than the other？ Does one type use more official sources, or more perspective from private individuals？ Even with the wide array of news sources currently available, local TV news still ranks as the most widely used information source. How well that source delivers information to local audiences is an important question to ask, particularly when the information may be coming from a great distance.展开更多

Accurate and adequate translation of web pages can enhance the enterprises＇ competitiveness. This paper focuses on the features of Chinese and Western web pages of garment enterprises and the translation strategy with the guidance of mass communication theory. Results illustrate that Chinese texts favor symmetrical phrases rich in cultural connotation, whereas English texts prefer plain language with fewer culture-loaded expressions and the latter focuses more on the feeling of audiences. As a result, audience-oriented translation strategy is strongly recommended so as to maximize the communication effect of the enterprise web pages展开更多
As an extension of environmental justice,landscape justice emphasizes achieving inclusive and equitable planning and design in both built and natural environments,allowing different social groups to enjoy and share la...As an extension of environmental justice,landscape justice emphasizes achieving inclusive and equitable planning and design in both built and natural environments,allowing different social groups to enjoy and share landscape resources and benefits more equally.By endowing landscape design with a“just”orientation,landscape justice significantly improves the spatial and environmental benefits while promotes the process of environmental justice.Landscape justice is characterized by its interdisciplinary nature,showing great variability in spatio-temporal scales,site dimensions and attributes,and social groups and scenarios,the research of which urgently requires in-depth dialogues,sincere collaborations,and active explorations among multiple disciplines.We call for enriching the connotation of landscape justice through interdisciplinary perspectives and addressing practical issues,to provide innovative spatial propositions and paths for creating sustainable urban environments and landscapes.展开更多
