Reducing semantic bias of annotations for semantic web service discovery

In order to improve the effectiveness of semantic web service discovery, the semantic bias between an interface parameter and an annotation is reduced by extracting semantic restrictions for the annotation from the description context and generating refined semantic annotations, and then the semantics of the web service is refined. These restrictions are dynamically extracted from the parsing tree of the description text, with the guide of the restriction template extracted from the ontology definition. New semantic annotations are then generated by combining the original concept with the restrictions and represented via refined concept expressions. In addition, a novel semantic similarity measure for refined concept expressions is proposed for semantic web service discovery. Experimental results show that the matchmaker based on this method can improve the average precision of discovery and exhibit low computational complexity. Reducing the semantic bias by utilizing restriction information of annotations can refine the semantics of the web service and improve the discovery effectiveness.

Hydrological Services by Mountain Ecosystems in Qilian Mountain of China: A Review

Hydrological service is a hot issue in the current researches of ecosystem service, particularly in the upper reaches of mountain rivers in dry land areas, where the Qilian Mountain is a representative one. The Qilian Mountain, where forest, shrubland and grassland consist of its main ecosystems, can provide fresh water and many other ecosystem services, through a series of eco-hydrological process such as precipitation interception, soil water storage, and fresh water provision. Thus, monitoring water regulation and assessing the hydrological service of the Qilian Mountain are meaningful and helpful for the healthy development of the lower reaches of arid and semi-arid areas. In recent 10 years, hydrological services have been widely researched in terms of scale and landscape pattern, including water conservation, hydrological responses to afforestation and their ecological effects. This study, after analyzing lots of current models and applications of geographical information system（GIS） in hydrological services, gave a scientific and reasonable evaluation of mountain ecosystem in eco-hydrological services, by employing the combination of international forefronts and contentious issues into the Qilian Mountain. Assessments of hydrological services at regional or larger scales are limited compared with studies within watershed scale in the Qilian Mountain. In our evaluation results of forest ecosystems, it is concluded that long-term observation and dynamic monitoring of different types of ecosystem are indispensable, and the hydrological services and the potential variation in water supplement on regional and large scales should be central issues in the future research.v

CIT/XML Security Platform Syntax and Processing

Today companies and organizations are using the Web as the main informationdissemination means both at internal and external level. Information dissemination often takes theform of XML documents that are made available at Web servers, or that are actively broadcasted byWeb servers to interested clients. These documents often contain information at different degrees ofsensitivity, therefore a strong XML security platform and mechanism is needed. In this paper wedeveloped CIT/XML security platform and take a close look to syntax and processing of CIT/digitalsignature model, CIT/encryption model, CIT/smart card crypto and SPKI interface security models.Security services such as authentication, integrity and confidentiality to XML documents and non-XMLdocuments, which exchanged among various servers, are provided.

Context-Aware Service IVlodes in the Cloud Computing Environment

This paper discussed the differences of context-aware service between the cloud computing environment and the traditional service system.Given the above differences,the paper subsequently analyzed the changes of context-aware service during preparation,organization and delivery,as well as the resulting changes in service acceptance of consumers.Because of these changes,the context-aware service modes in the cloud computing environment change are intelligent,immersive,highly interactive,and real-time.According to active and responded service,and authorization and non-authorized service,the paper drew a case diagram of context-aware service in Unified Modeling Language(UML) and established four categories of context-aware service modes.

A2A Relationships in Service Contexts

This work aims at developing the actor-to-actor （A2A） relationship concept in service contexts enhancing the contribution of the systems theories. The most recent progresses related to the research on the service, as a matter of fact, highlight how the nowadays co-creation processes are key elements in each service context. Both the Service Science （SS） and the Service Dominant （S-D） logic analyse the importance of the role played by the numerousness of actors involved in the service exchange because of the resources held （and released） and the contribution they can offer. System theories, and in particular the Viable System Approach, offer the possibility of an holistic perspective able to re-interpret the same characterizing mechanisms of the value co-creation. In the following parts of the work it will presented a conceptual analysis based on the contribution of the VSA, the SS and the S-D logic, whose scientific proposals will be developed and critically analysed in order to verify the proposition coherence in terms of A2A relationships within the value co-creation process. The relational perspective of the Service Eco-systems shows a view open to network in relation to economic and social actors, where each organization can be considered as an actor because it is actively committed in the value co-creation development, going beyond the difference between the user, the producer, or the exchange facilitator. Therefore, the contribution proposes some progresses compared with the business to business （B2B） approach and literature, through the introduction of the new A2A interaction concept within the service context for the indistinct role that the actors play in the value co-creation process. In this perspective, the contribution introduces the research line focused on the service, giving attention, afterwards, to the service system context, in order to analyse the features of these systems with the specific goal of identifying its peculiarity. The contribution proceed with the presentation of the systems thinking, and in particular the VSA contribution, directed toward the description of the gaps that the authors identify in the present research attempting to offer some orientations for the comprehension and the improvement of the service systems and of their planning and management implications. The contribution finally proposes an integrated interpretation of the several emerging paradigms （VSA, SS and S-D logic） seeking an in-depth-analysis of the A2A relationships in the service contexts.

Network Selection Based on Context-Awareness Services

In this paper,we propose a systemic architecture of network selection based on context-awareness services,which gathers contextual information that includes such network information,user information and local information.This network selection strategy considers the Quality of Service(QoS) and user preferences.Also,it perceives contexts such as speed,coverage percentage and location,etc.,and it eventually performs network selection decision making and network execution based on multiple factors.From the perspective of network decision,it presents two network selection algorithms,namely the fuzzy mathematics evaluation method and multiple attribute decision making using the TOPSIS evaluation method.System simulations suggest that network selection based on the mathematics evaluation method is much faster than the TOPSIS evaluation method.However,the TOPSIS evaluation method is practically more efficient.The network selection method based on context-awareness provides an effective and flexible network vertical handover strategy,and ensures a good accuracy and efficiency.

An Effective Management of Personal Paper Outcome Using Open Service

Abstract： Open collaboration-based R＆D （research and development） has become an important issue recently. Researchers＇ performance is necessary to be understood by analyzing researchers＇ paper outcome. To drive successful outcomes and co-research, researchers＇ paper outcome should be autonomously established. Therefore we propose an approach to manage and update easily paper outcome of researchers. The proposed approach makes researchers search their paper using the Google Scholar＇s opened API （application program interface） and update their outcome. Since researchers autonomously can establish the list of their own papers in our service using open service, researchers＇ personal outcome can be efficiently managed.

Intercultural Communication of Assist Card in Connecting Its Cardholder and Its Medical Service Provider

Technology-assisted, multi-party involved, non-face-to-face communication will become more prevail than interpersonal communication, and will play more important role in intercultural communication. Conflicts, complaints rise, how to balance all different positioned parties, how to advance the case will be of referential value to the cases coming later. AC at the center of multi-lateral communication acted timely and appropriately to have managed the complaints and facilitated communication. As an international traveling assistance and insurance company, Assist Card provides medical assistance from its direct and indirect medical service providers around the world to its cardholders. The role AC plays in connecting its cardholders and both its direct and indirect medical service providers is crucial and dominating. This is a case study of how did AC especially AC China act to facilitate the dialogue between Maria, the patient and Hengyang HP, the problem of AC intragroup communication, how did the in-group intimacy help AC trust hospital, defend for it, while believe it was Maria who should be more intercultural sensitive. Participant observation is another research method. Dialectical approach was used to analyze intercultural sensitivity responsibility.

Research on Intrusion Detection Method of Web Service Composition

The paper takes Web service composition document as the research object, through the analysis of the documents, the port and address on the Web server, to create a Web intrusion detection model. The core of the model will monitor the Web server host resources, and finally discusses in detail the design and implementation of resource monitoring system. Intrusion detection model proposed can effectively regulate the behavior of users in this paper, allowing users follow a pre-standard service to call service providers, largely to protect the security of Web services.

Creating customized data services from web pages

To extract structured data from a web page with customized requirements,a user labels some DOM elements on the page with attribute names.The common features of the labeled elements are utilized to guide the user through the labeling process to minimize user efforts,and are also utilized to retrieve attribute values.To turn the attribute values into a structured result,the attribute pattern needs to be induced.For this purpose,a space-optimized suffix tree called attribute tree is built to transform the document object model(DOM) tree into a simpler form while preserving its useful properties such as attribute sequence order.The pattern is induced bottom-up on the attribute tree,and is further used to build the structured result.Experiments are conducted and show high performance of our approach in terms of precision,recall and structural correctness.

Comprehensively Context-Aware Approach to Guaranteeing Multimedia Conferencing Services

Service-Oriented Communication(SOC)is a key research issue to enable media communications using the Service-Oriented Architecture(SOA).Motivated by the necessity to guarantee the service quality of our webbased multimedia conferencing system,we present a Comprehensively Context-Aware(CoCA)approach in this paper.One major problem in the existing end-to-end Quality of Service(QoS)management solutions is that they analyse and exploit the relationships between the QoS metrics and corresponding contexts in an isolated manner.In this paper,we propose a novel approach to leveraging such relationships in a comprehensive manner based on Bayesian networks and the fuzzy set theory.This approach includes three phases:1)information feedback and training,2)QoS-to-context mapping,and3)optimal context adaption.We implement the proposed CoCA in the real multimedia conferencing system and compare its performance with the existing bandwidth aware and playback buffer aware schemes.Experimental results show that the proposed CoCA outperforms the competing approaches in improving the average video Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR).It also exhibits good performance in preventing the playback buffer starvation.

Embedding Sign Representation in Mobile Phones to Assist Disabled

Sign Writing, a writing system for sign language, is becoming a useful and convenient communication aid for people who are deaf. Principally, people who are deaf find it difficult to communicate with the hearing community and due to recent technological advancement they communicate amongst themselves and with the hearing community via text messaging on mobile phones. Existing messaging function is limited to writing based on the Roman alphabets or pictographic languages like Mandarin; writing in signs is deemed to be deficient in a mobile context. Hence, the aim of this paper is to examine the feasibility of writing and reading text messages in signs as an alternative communication mean besides Short Messaging Service （SMS）. Initial experimental results have significantly exemplified that sign writing gains well acceptance and is preferred among the hearing-impaired community to communicate within or between the hearing communities.
