Five species of Aphytis are recognized, including one new species (Aphytis albus sp. nov.) and four new records (A. diaspidis, A. japonicus, A. proclia and A. vandenboschi). A key to the female species of Aphytis from South Korea is provided. The type specimens are respectively deposited in Korea National Arboretum and the Insect Collection of Northeast Forestry University, Harbin, China.展开更多

It also provided some molecular characters of the Chinese population, including the PCR-RFLP and sequences of ITS region and D2-D3 expansion region of the large subunit (LSU) rRNA gene. Both the morphological characters and ITS-RFLP patterns match with the original description. The phylogenetic trees based on the 13 sequences of D2-D3 expansion region of the LSU rRNA gene and ITS region of Bursaphelenchus species were constructed, respectively, with the results showing the similar clades. The phylogenetic relationship based on the molecular data is similar to that with morphological characters. This is the first report of the species on pine wood in eastern China.展开更多

A descriptors list of 15 selected morphological characters was used to generate a character state matrix. Cluster analysis using NTSYS-pc and UPGMA program produced six clusters with similarity ranging from 66% to 100%. The majority cultivated and non-cultivated clusters with similarity ranging from 86-100% and 97-100% respectively reflected a clustering pattern based on the status of individuals whether cultivated or non-cultivated. Most individuals from same population clustered differently indicating high morphological variations within populations than between populations. The present results suggest that selection and conservation of elite germplasm could be achieved by considering individuals from both cultivated and non-cultivated plants.展开更多
