Virtual environments, however, tend not to make this information available. The sparse number of applications that present additional information furthermore tend to limit their scope to pure construction information and do not incorporate information from loosely related knowledge domains, such as cultural heritage or architectural history information. We therefore started an investigation of two of the newest developments in these domains, namely game engine technology and semantic web technology. This paper documents part of this research, containing a review and comparison of the most prominent game engines and documenting our architectural semantic web. A short test-case illustrates how both can be combined to enhance information visualization for architectural design and construction.展开更多
With the application of modem information technology in education, particularly after multimedia network technology enters teaching field of education, the content of education, the content and the means of education ...With the application of modem information technology in education, particularly after multimedia network technology enters teaching field of education, the content of education, the content and the means of education has undergone great changes.In order to develop complex English talent, we designed a teaching model of English reading as a means of multimedia assisted teaching through collaborative, exploratory, autonomous interactive teaching, which can fully exercise and develop students＇ language skills, improving English quality of teaching.It has changed the traditional teaching model which is constrined bye teacher-centered, textbook-centered, classroom-centered. Multimedia Assisted English reading can give students the greatest degree of autonomy, and pay more attention to students＇ learning ability to play the main role in the cognitive, reflectting the idea of quality education, meetting the requirements of the times.展开更多
Preceding works tend to explicate affordance through supposing what is happening here and now.They seldom relate it to actual social,diachronic activities,such as foreign language learning.To tackle this issue,this st...Preceding works tend to explicate affordance through supposing what is happening here and now.They seldom relate it to actual social,diachronic activities,such as foreign language learning.To tackle this issue,this study explores how students actualize affordances in technology-enriched language learning environment(TELLE)by examining their perezhivanija(lived and emotional experience),a term borrowed from sociocultural theory.Because an individual’s social life is a developing process or a perezhivanie2,it is necessary to base the research in a dynamic development of language learning to figure out how the affordances are actualized.Narrative interviews were adopted to collect data from three Chinese college students who learn English as a foreign language in a Northeastern university in China.The results showed that due to the students’different past perezhivanija in English learning,their present interpretations of the perceived affordances in TELLE varied.This influenced hugely in their actions taken during their English learning in college to actualize the affordances.The findings indicated that the actualization of affordances is historical,dynamic and developmental instead of static.It does not lie in the autonomy of the students or the teachers,but in the institutional and cultural legitimacy of technology use in student’s social life.The paper contributes to the application of affordance theory in foreign language learning and provides implications to language teaching practice in TELLE.展开更多
