Engine noise source identification is essential for making noise reduction strategies.Predominant noise sources of engines are normally identified as some cover components such as oil pan, valve cover and front gear c...Engine noise source identification is essential for making noise reduction strategies.Predominant noise sources of engines are normally identified as some cover components such as oil pan, valve cover and front gear cover etc. The radiated noise sources of a 6-cylinder construction diesel engine are identified with two methods-lead covering technique and surface vibration technique,and the ranking of the major cover on the basis of acoustic power is presented in this paper. Firstly the sound power level of these cover components and their contributions to the total acoustic power are determined with lead covering method under hemi-anechoic condition. Then the vibration characteristics of these components are investigated. The sound power level of various components is predicted via the mean square area average vibration. Both results basically agree well and verify the effectiveness of both techniques in engineering field.展开更多

Engine noise and cylinder pressure measurement experiments were carrie...Combustion noise takes large proportion in diesel engine noise and the studies of its influence factors play an important role in noise reduction. Engine noise and cylinder pressure measurement experiments were carried out. And the improved attenuation curves were obtained, by which the engine noise was predicted. The effect of fuel injection parameters in combustion noise was investigated during the combustion process. At last, the method combining single variable optimization and multivariate combination was introduced to online optimize the combustion noise. The results show that injection parameters can affect the cylinder pressure rise rate and heat release rate, and consequently affect the cylinder pressure load and pressure oscillation to influence the combustion noise. Among these parameters, main injection advance angle has the greatest influence on the combustion noise, while the pilot injection interval time takes the second place, and the pilot injection quantity is of minimal impact. After the optimal design of the combustion noise, the average sound pressure level of the engine is distinctly reduced by 1.0 d B(A) generally. Meanwhile, the power, emission and economy performances are ensured.展开更多

Wavelet selection and CWT are then implemented and wavelet transform is used to analyze the major sources of the engine front's exterior radiation sound. The research provides a reliable basis for engineering practice to reduce vehicle sound level. In order to dispel its adverse effect on security in mining, the chaotic system of PMSM was analyzed. With noise disturbances, the complex dynamic characteristics of chaos were also analyzed, and proved the objective existence of chaos. As we all know, it is very difficult for conventional PMSM control to meet the design requirements, therefore, in order to ensure the robustness of the system, the chaotic orbits were stabilized to arbitrary chosen fixed points and periodic orbits by means of sliding mode method. Finally MATLAB simulations were presented to confirm the validity of the controller. The results show that the PMSM with the sliding mode control has a good dynamic performance and steady state accuracy.展开更多

The effects of the parameter q indicating the departure from the Ganssian noise and the correlation time T of the non-Gaussian noise on the transition rate and the SPA are discussed. Research results show that: (i) The transition rate as a function of the noise strength exhibits a maximum. This maximum for transition rate identifies the phenomenon of entropie resonant activation (ERA), the parameter q and the noise correlation time T weaken the ERA of the system; (ii) The curves of SPA appear a transition from one peak to double-peak, and then to one peak again as the noise correlation time T of non-Gaussian noise increases.展开更多

Finite element analysis, flexi...The coupled model of a four-cylinder internal combustion engine and a dash panel was constructed to analyze the relationship between the engine noise and interior noise of an automobile. Finite element analysis, flexible multi-body dynamics, and boundary element analysis were integrated to obtain the tetrahedron-element models, structural vibration response, and radiated noise,respectively. The accuracy of the finite-element model of the engine was validated by modal analysis via single-input multi-output technology, while the dash panel was validated by sound transmission loss experiment. The block was optimized to reduce the radiated acoustic power from the engine surface. The acoustic transfer path between the engine cabin and passenger compartment was then established. The coupled analysis results reveal that the interior noise is optimized due to the engine noise reduction.展开更多
Aiming at the effective realization of particle filter for maneuvering target tracking in multi-sensor measurements,a novel multi-sensor multiple model particle filtering algorithm with correlated noises is proposed.C...Aiming at the effective realization of particle filter for maneuvering target tracking in multi-sensor measurements,a novel multi-sensor multiple model particle filtering algorithm with correlated noises is proposed.Combined with the kinetic evolution equation of target state,a multi-sensor multiple model particle filter is firstly constructed,which is also used as the basic framework of a new algorithm.In the new algorithm,in order to weaken the adverse influence from random measurement noises in the measuring process of particle weight,a weight optimization strategy is introduced to improve the reliability and stability of particle weight.In addition,considering the correlated noise existing in the practical engineering,a decoupling method of correlated noise is given by the rearrangement and transformation of the state transition equation and measurement equation.Since the weight optimization strategy and noise decoupling method adopt respectively the center fusion structure and the off-line way,it improves the adverse effect effectively on computational complexity for increasing state dimension and sensor number.Finally,the theoretical analysis and experimental results show the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.展开更多

A Tollmien-Shlichtling (TS) effect is suspected, and several compressible LES are made on aerodynamic profiles to detect and investigate this phenomenon. Vortex shedding is observed at the trailing edge, triggering some density fluctuations when a thin boundary layer exists on the profile upper side. Acoustic waves with length equivalent to the chord are observed. A profile modification is proposed with a camber brought closer to the leading edge. This shape tested on a prototyped fan confirms the weakening of the TS effect.展开更多

It is established that under certain conditions and with a highly positive probability, the new stochastic delay differential pantograph equation has an oscillatory solution influenced by the presence of the noise. The system states are updated at a fast uniform sampling rate and the measurements are sampled at a slow uniform sampling rate. The updating rate of system states is several times the sampling rate of measurements and the multiple is constant. To solve the problem,we will propose a self-tuning asynchronous filter whose contributions are twofold. First, the optimal filter at the sampling times when the measurements are available is derived in the linear minimum variance sense. Furthermore, considering the variation of noise statistics, a regulator is introduced to adjust the filtering coefficients adaptively. The case studies of wheeled robot navigation system and air quality evaluation system will show the effectiveness and practicability in engineering.展开更多
