The real-time capability of integrated flight/propulsion optimal control (IFPOC) is studied. An appli- cation is proposed for IFPOC by combining the onboard hybrid aero-engine model with sequential quadratic pro- gramming (SQP). Firstly, a steady-state hybrid aero-engine model is designed in the whole flight envelope with a dramatic enhancement of real-time capability. Secondly, the aero-engine performance seeking control including the maximum thrust mode and the minimum fuel-consumption mode is performed by SQP. Finally, digital simu- lations for cruise and accelerating flight are carried out. Results show that the proposed method improves real- time capability considerably with satisfactory effectiveness of optimization. 展开更多

Based on the hexagonal crystallite model of graphite,the electrochemical characteristics of carbon atoms on the edge and basal plane were proposed by analyzing graphite crystal structure and bonds of carbon atoms in different sites.A spherical close-packed model for graphite particle was developed.The fractions of surface carbon atoms(SCA) and edge carbon atoms(ECA) were derived in the expression of crystallographic parameters and particle size,and the effects of ECA on the initial irreversible capacity and the mechanisms of action were analyzed and verified.The results show that the atoms on the edge are more active for electrochemical reactions,such as electrolyte decomposition and tendency to form stable bond with other atoms and groups.For the practical graphite particle,corresponding modifying factors were introduced to revise the difference in calculating results.The revised expression is suitable for the calculation of the fractions of SCA and ECA for carbon materials such as graphite,disordered carbon and modified graphite. 展开更多

Discrimination for minimal hepatic encephalopathy based on Bayesian modeling of default mode network

In order to classify the minimal hepatic encephalopathy (MHE) patients from healthy controls, the independent component analysis (ICA) is used to generate the default mode network (DMN) from resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Then a Bayesian voxel- wised method, graphical-model-based multivariate analysis (GAMMA), is used to explore the associations between abnormal functional integration within DMN and clinical variable. Without any prior knowledge, five machine learning methods, namely, support vector machines (SVMs), classification and regression trees ( CART ), logistic regression, the Bayesian network, and C4.5, are applied to the classification. The functional integration patterns were alternative within DMN, which have the power to predict MHE with an accuracy of 98%. The GAMMA method generating functional integration patterns within DMN can become a simple, objective, and common imaging biomarker for detecting MIIE and can serve as a supplement to the existing diagnostic methods. 展开更多

Syntheses of cam profile designs and dynamics of cam designs are studied at first. Then, a cam profile design optimization model based on the six order classical spline and single DOF(degree of freedom) dynamic model of single-dwell cam mechanisms is developed. And dynamic constraints such as jumps and vibrations of followers are considered. This optimization model, with many advantages such as universalities of applications, conveniences to operations and good performances in improving kinematic and dynamic properties of cam mechanisms, is good except for the discontinuity of jerks at the end knots of cam profiles which will cause vibrations of cam systems. However, the optimization is improved by combining the six order classical spline with general polynomial spline which is the so-called "trade-offs". Finally, improved optimization is proven to have a better performance in designing cam profiles. 展开更多

Prediction of roadheader performance plays a significant role in the plan of tunnel construction, which is influenced by different key parameters, including rock strength, discontinuity in rock mass, type and specifications of roadheader machine, and brittleness. The main aim of this study is to build a robust empirical equation based on rock mass properties for the roadheader performance prediction. For achieving the aim, a dataset composed of roadheader performance rate and rock properties is established using the dataset compiled from an underground coal mine located in a remote rugged desert environment some 85 km south of Tabas City in mid east Iran. By using gathered data, the statistical analyses are conducted between rock mass properties and roadheader performance to find whether there is a significant relationship between input variables and roadheader performance. The results show that rock mass properties have a considerable impact on the rate of the roadheader performance. It is demonstrated that the proposed model can accurately predict the roadheader performance as a function of rock mass properties. 展开更多

Six-axis numerical control spiral bevel gear grinder was taken as the object, multi-body system theory and Denavit-Hartenberg homogeneous transformed matrix (HTM) were utilized to establish the grinder synthesis error model, and the validity of model was confirmed by the experiment. Additionally, in grinding wheel tool point coordinate system, the errors of six degrees of freedom were simulated when the grinding wheel revolving around C-axis, moving along X-axis and Y-axis. The influence of these six errors on teeth space, helix angle, pitch, teeth profile was discussed. The simulation results show that the angle error is in the range from -0.148 4 tad to -0.241 9 rad when grinding wheel moving along X, Y-axis; the translation error is in the range from 0.866 0 μm to 3.605 3μm when grinding wheel moving along X-axis. These angle and translation errors have a great influence on the helix angle, pitch, teeth thickness and tooth socket. 展开更多

The information on the performance of a centrifugal compressor under all conditions is not available, which restricts the operation optimization for compressor. To solve this problem, two back propagation (BP) neural networks were introduced to model the performance of a compressor by using the data provided by manufacturer. The input data of the model under other conditions should be corrected according to the similarity theory. The method was used to optimize the system of a cracking gas compressor by embedding the compressor performance model into the ASPEN PLUS model of compressor. According to the basic emotional theory, the artificial emotional model based on the finite state machine(FSM) was presented. In finite state machine model of emotion, the emotional space included the basic emotional space and the multiple emotional spaces. The emotion-switching diagram was defined and transition fimction was developed using Markov chain and linear interpolation algorithm. The simulation model was built using Stateflow toolbox and Simulink toolbox based on the Matlab platform. And the model included three subsystems: the input one, the emotion one and the behavior one. In the emotional subsystem, the responses of different personalities to the external stimuli were described by defining personal space. This model takes states from an emotional space and updates its state depending on its current state and a state of its input (also a state-emotion). The simulation model realizes the process of switching the emotion from the neutral state to other basic emotions. The simulation result is proved to correspond to emotion-switching law of human beings. 展开更多
