[ Method] The Guangxi local cultivar GX-M001 (Jiangchao) with high resistance to Orseolia oryzae (Wood-Mason) was used to hybrid with the known resistance cultivars "Kangwenqingzhan" (harboring GM5 gene), OB677( harboring GM3 gene) from Sri Lanka, HT1350 and high yield end quality cultivar " Guiruanzhan". [ Result] Through pyramiding the multi-resistant genes via routine hybridization, the general resistances of the hybrids were remarkably enhanced. The grades of resistance were also improved, many of the combinations were endowed with a resistance at immune level (grade 0) ; and interestingly, the respective hybridization of GX-M001 (high resistance) with OB677( medium resistance) and HT1350(suscepti- ble) also generate two lines at immune level, which is probably the effects of additive effects of genes.[ Conclusion] By routine hybridization, multiple genes were successfully pyramided, thus generating novel rice lines with multiple resistances. For the rice breeding scientists at the grass-roots level, the resistance-resistance pyramiding is an effective approach to breed high resistance cultivars.展开更多

[ Method] The differences in agronomic traits and polymorphis...[ Objective] The study was to investigate the agronomic traits and breeding characteristics of genic male sterile material Mian 7AB-4- 2 in Brassica napus. [ Method] The differences in agronomic traits and polymorphisms in SSR markers, between the genic male sterile material Mian 7AB-4-2 in Brassica napus and its sisterly line Mian 7AB-4-1 were investigated by hybridization and molecular identification; and the percentage of sterile individuals of Mian 7AB-4-2 and of the hybrids with its sisterly line Mian 7AB-4-1 from test cross and back cross were also studled. [ Result] Mian 7AB-4-2 was not significantly different in agronomic traits from its sisterly line Mian 7AB-4-1 at 0.05 probability level. The per- centages of sterile individuals in the pollinated fertile Mian 7AB-4-2 plants were over 60%, and that in its sisterly line Mian 7AB-4-1 was about 25%. In test crosses with other nine sterile lines, Mian 7AB-4-1 kept the percentage of sterile individuals of sterile lines over 90%, and the percentage of sterile individuals from back cross over 80%. With regard to molecular markers, Mian 7AB-4-2 and its sisterly line Mian 7AB-4-1 were different in the band number from SSR primers a2 and E10. [ Conclusion] The results indicate that Mian 7AB-4-2 is helpful for rapeseed breeding, quickening the application of new materials in field breeding.展开更多

In terms of the modern signal analysis technology, various aspects are discussed. The monitoring result and the stability of rock mass can be synthetically evaluated and inferred, and the location of acoustic origin according to the acoustic emission regularity can be successfully detected. To avoid this, it is important to predict the natural...The end windings of generators are excited to vibrations due to electromagnetic forces which can cause severe damage (especially in case of resonance) and noise. To avoid this, it is important to predict the natural frequencies and modes of the end windings with finite elements during the design process. Hence, a material model of the complete stator bar is necessary. This paper shows the development of such a material model. The composite structure of a stator bar is quite complex and makes it impossible to provide a quick calculation of the eigenvalues. That is the reason for using a suitable, homogeneously, geometry based solid model. Special attention was paid to the experimental determination of the material characteristics of the orthotropic composite space brackets. The numerical results have been evaluated against measurements. Eigenvalues, Young's modulus, and shear modulus have been experimentally investigated.展开更多

The proposed modification goes to replace the optical material of the movable lens by another with less thermal dispersion. The choice of appropriate materials lead to a good focus appeared on the retina for a wide spectral range includes UV, visible, and near IR lighting. Then, the performance of the modified design is verified through some optical measures for imaging quality determinations. These optical measures are determined with the aid of Zemax software, which also used for testing performance of the modified fisheye optical system. The analysis mainly focuses on the energy distribution in the light spot on the focal surface. The results show that the modified design of the fisheye is acceptable.展开更多

OBJECTIVE:To assess the total and soluble oxalate contents of commonly used Chinese medicinal herbs.METHODS:Twenty-two Chinese medicinal herbs were extracted in both acid and water prior to determination of total and ...OBJECTIVE:To assess the total and soluble oxalate contents of commonly used Chinese medicinal herbs.METHODS:Twenty-two Chinese medicinal herbs were extracted in both acid and water prior to determination of total and soluble oxalate,respectively.Oxalate was assayed in herbal extracts using a well-established enzymatic procedure.RESULTS:Among the 22 medicinal herbs,there was significant variation in oxalate content;Houttuynia cordata contained the highest amount of soluble oxalate(2146 mg/100 g) and Selaginella doederleinii contained the lowest amount(71 mg/100g).CONCLUSION:The results indicated that different Chinese medicinal herbs,even from the same family,contain significantly different amounts of oxalate.In susceptible individuals,the use of medicinal herbs with the highest oxalate contents could increase risk of kidney stone formation.展开更多
