Results indicate that with increase in dent depth, the five types of dents affect the ultimate strength of the plate in different trends. Nevertheless, other than the plate global deflection caused by impacting, the dent itself has unremarkable effect on the ultimate strength. The mathematical expressions are derived regarding the relationship between impact energy factor and the dent depth factor as well as the compressive ultimate strength reduction rate and the dent depth factor.展开更多
The soil plug phenomenon involving the rising of the surface soil inside the bucket chamber under the suction pressure and seepage forces was simulated and calculated by deformable discrete element method (DDEM) model...The soil plug phenomenon involving the rising of the surface soil inside the bucket chamber under the suction pressure and seepage forces was simulated and calculated by deformable discrete element method (DDEM) models. The seepage forces, the effective gravity of soil, the friction on the chamber wall and the suction inside the chamber are considered as the main external forces of DDEM specimen. Three typical types of soil (silty clay, silt and sand) in the Bohai Sea are set as the main environmental conditions in the formation process of soil plug. It is found that the heights of soil plug simulated by DDEM models are 161.85 mm in silty clay, 125.22 mm in silt and 167.56 mm in sand, which are close to model test results and higher than those estimated by discrete element method (DEM). DDEM is an effective method to estimate and predict the heights of soil plug before suction penetration of bucket foundations on site.展开更多
The corrosion behaviors of Sn-0.75Cu solder and Sn-0.75Cu/Cu joint in 3.5% NaCl(mass fraction) solution were studied by potentiodynamic polarization test and leaching measurement.The polarization curves indicated th...The corrosion behaviors of Sn-0.75Cu solder and Sn-0.75Cu/Cu joint in 3.5% NaCl(mass fraction) solution were studied by potentiodynamic polarization test and leaching measurement.The polarization curves indicated that the corrosion rate of Sn-0.75Cu solder was lower than that of Sn-0.75Cu/Cu joint.The morphology observation and phase composition analysis on the corroded product at each interesting potential suggested that Sn3O(OH)2Cl2 formed on the surface of Sn-0.75Cu solder at active dissolution stage.As the potential increased from active/passive transition stage,all the surface of Sn-0.75Cu solder was covered by the Sn3O(OH)2Cl2 and some pits appeared after the polarization test.Compared to the Sn-0.75Cu solder alloy,much more Sn3O(OH)2Cl2 formed at active dissolution stage and the pits with bigger size were observed after polarization test for the Sn-0.75Cu/Cu solder joints.The leaching test confirmed that the faster electrochemical corrosion rate resulted in the larger amount of Sn released from the Sn-0.75Cu/Cu solder joints.展开更多

The theory of Smith (1977,1980) is generalized to include both forced and free rotations by introducing an arbitrarily rotating nutation frame.The Eulerien equations are transformed to include the following unknowns:t...The theory of Smith (1977,1980) is generalized to include both forced and free rotations by introducing an arbitrarily rotating nutation frame.The Eulerien equations are transformed to include the following unknowns:the angular velocity of the nutation frame with respect to the spatial frame,which represents the nutation,and the angles defining the orientation of the Earth with respect to the nutation frame,which represents the polar motion.Together with the definition of the nutation frame (as the definition of the nutation frame is arbitrary to some extent),one can solve simultaneously forced and free nutation and polar motion.As demonstrative examples,studies of nutation and polar motion are made by assuming the nutation axis to be the Earth’s figure axis,rotation axis and angular momentum axis respectively.And the case of the celestial ephemeris pole is also studied.展开更多
