Application of Planar Seismogenic Structure to the Seismotectonic Method——A Case Study in the Dayao-Yao'an Area

In past practice,the identification of the seismogenic structures was often based on the surface active faults and characterization of linear seismic source. In a situation which shows quite strong non-random seismic activity and lacks surface active faults,it is difficult to evaluate the seismic hazard reasonably. Taking seismogenic structures in the Dayao-Yao'an area as a case study in this paper,we discuss the need and the possibility to apply the planar seismogenic structure to the seismotectonic method. We suggest that the planar seismogenic structure should be considered when applying the seismotectonic method to the seismic risk assessment of nuclear engineering in future. 展开更多

Determination of the Seismogenic Structure of the 1861 East of Pulandian M6.0 earthquake

The 1861 M6. 0 earthquake occurring in the east of Pulandian is another strong earthquake with M ≥ 6. 0 besides the 1975 Haicheng MT. 3 earthquake in the Liaodong peninsula. Through repeated investigations, the epicenter of the 1861 earthquake was located at Gupao, a village east of Pulandian. Based on the analyses of damage survey and precise location of modern instrumental earthquake data, the activity and seismic risk of the Jinzhou fault, Pulandian bay fault and the NW-trending Pulandian fault were analyzed. And by comparing the deep seismogenic environment between Pulandian and Haicheng, it is found that, as a neogenic active fault, the NW-trending fault, conjugated with the Jinzhou fault, has a higher seismic risk. The NW-trending fault is the seismogenic structure of the 1861 M6. 0 earthquake. And the Jinzhou fault, as a major fault in the Liaodong Peninsula, has controlled the seismicity of the region. The Pulandian bay fault is relatively inactive, with weak seismicity, and unrelated to the earthquake. 展开更多

The Method of Spatially Smoothed Seismicity Parameters in Consideration of Seismotectonic Background and Its Application to Seismic Hazard Estimation

In this study, the North China seismic region was selected as the study area, and evaluation of seismic hazard using the spatial smoothing seismicity model was performed. Firstly, the study area is divided into grids, and some parameters (e. g. b-value, Mo, Me, azimuth and M-L relationship ) for each seismotectonic model were assigned. Secondly, using elliptical smoothing based on a seismotectonic background model, the statistical earthquake incidence rate in each grid is successively calculated. Lastly, the relevant ground motion attenuation relationship is chosen to assess seismic hazard of general sites. The maps for the distribution of horizontal peak ground acceleration with 10% probability of exceedance in 50 years were obtained by using the seismic hazard analysis method based on grid source. This seismicity model simplifies the methodology of probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, especially appropriate for those places where seismic tectonics is not yet clearly known. This method can provide valuable references for seismic zonation and seismic safety assessment for significant engineering projects. 展开更多

This paper deals with a new class of nonlinear set valued implicit variational inclusion problems involving (A, η)-monotone mappings in 2-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Semi-inner product structure has been used to study the (A, η)-monotonicity. Using the generalized resolvent operator technique and the semi-inner product structure, the approximation solvability of the proposed problem is investigated. An iterative algorithm is constructed to approximate the solution of the problem. Convergence analysis of the proposed algorithm is investigated. Similar results are also investigated for variational inclusion problems involving (H, η)-monotone mappings. 展开更多

Several methods of mutation detection, such as single-strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP), tandem SSCP/heteroduplex analysis and SNaPshot analysis were developed using homemade kit on AB1 310 genetic analyzer, and were successfully applied to mutation detection of 31 colorectal tumor samples. The sieving capability of homemade kit and commercial kit were compared, results demonstrate that homemade kit has higher resolution and shorter analysis time. In clinical tumor samples, 26% K-ras (exon 1) and 24% p53 (exons 7–8) were found to have mutations, and all mutations were single point variations. The characteristics of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal (AMF) community structure in various soil depths and growing seasons of watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris) grown in commercial greenhouses in Daxing of Beijing and Weifang and Laiyang of Shandong, China were investigated using both morphological identification and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis. The sampled soils had been used for continuous greenhouse production of watermelon for 0, 5, 10, 15, or 20 years. Glomus claroideum was the dominant species in the greenhouse soils planted for 5, 10, and 15 years in Laiyang, while Glomus mosseae and Glomus etunicatum were dominant in the nearby open farmland soil. Sorenson's similarity index of AMF community composition ranged from 0.67 to 0.84 in the soils planted for 5 years, and from 0.29 to 0.33 for 20 years among the three locations. Spore abundance, species richness, and the Shannon index were highest near the soil surface (0-10 cm) and decreased with soil depth, and higher in June and October than in August and December. Canonical correspondence analysis showed that available P and the number of years that soil had been used for greenhouse production were the main factors contributing to the variance of AMF community composition. It was concluded that the community structure of AMF was mainly influenced by soil available P and planting time of watermelon as well as by soil depth and seasonal variation in the commercial greenhouse. 展开更多

Sensitivities of eigen-solutions to control variables play an important role in microgrid studies,such as coordinated optimal design of controllers and parameters,robust stability analysis on control variables,oscillation modes analysis on a system,etc.Considering the importance of sensitivities and the complexity of state matrix in a microgrid,parameter perturbations are utilized in this paper to analyze the construction characteristics of state matrix.Then,the sensitivities of eigenvalues and eigenvectors to control variables are obtained based on the first-order matrix perturbation theory,which makes the complex derivations of sensitivity formulas and repeated solutions of eigenvalue problem unnecessary.Finally,the effectiveness of the matrix perturbation based approach for sensitivity calculation in a microgrid is verified by a numerical example on a low-voltage microgrid prototype. 展开更多
