Effect o...Numerical simulation has been carried out to investigate the major factors affecting the time of composite regeneration due to coupling cerium-based additive and microwave for diesel particulate f3ilter(DPF). Effect on the composite regeneration time from various factors such as mass flow rate of exhaust gas, temperature of exhaust gas, oxygen concentration of exhaust gas, microwave power and amount of cerium-based additive are investigated. And a mathematical model based on fuzzy least squares support vector machines has been developed to forecast the endpoint of the composite regeneration. The results show that the relative error of endpoint forecasting model of composite regeneration is less than 3.5%, and the oxygen concentration of exhaust gas has the biggest effect on the endpoint of composite regeneration, followed by the mass flow rate of exhaust gas, the microwave power, the temperature of exhaust gas and the amount of cerium-based additive.展开更多

Performance evaluation on field synergy and composite regeneration of the diesel particulate filter was conducted by using the vortex crushing combustion and field synergy mathematical models. The results show that the peak temperature of the particulate filter body reaches 1180-1190 K when the regeneration time is 175 s, and there are optimal coordination degree between the velocity vector and temperature gradient of the filter body and the maximum ratio0.56-0.60 of the best burning regeneration region is obtained. Accordingly, the largest regeneration combustion rate inside the particulate filter body and the highest regeneration efficiency at the moment are achieved.展开更多

In order to understand the propagation law of sound wave and predict the insertion loss in DPF, based on the general aero-dynamic equations and Darcy′s law, an acoustic property calculation model of DPF is constructed. Propagation and attenuation characteristics of the forward and backward propagating acoustic waves in the close and open pipe of the filter are investigated. The theoretical model is combined with experiment to investigate sound attenuation property of DPF. The insertion loss obtained from the experiment is compared with that computed for a DPF. This paper described the synthesis and evaluation of the performance of dibehenyl fumarate-vinyl acetate (FV) copolymer for improving the cold flow performance of the tested diesel fuels. The carbon distribution in n-alkanes of the tested diesel samples were analyzed by gas phase chromatography. The structure of the copolymer was confirmed by the 1H NMR spectroscopy. The wax crystals morphologies with and without adding the FV additive were investigated by means of polarizing microscope. The test results indicated that the FV additive could depress CFPP of the tested diesel samples by 2℃ and 4℃, respectively, when dosage of the additive was 0.08 m%. The additive can modify the size and shape of the wax crystals and inhibit the formation of larger wax crystal lattices.展开更多

Therefore the aim of this study is to improve the efficiency fuel of diesel engine using fuel filter. The method used for the research is testing the most efficient fuel filters made of coil wire coil winding 5,000, the three distinguished from the coil core diameter of 44.5, 28.5 and 17.5 mm in diesel engine. The performance test was conducted from 1,100 rpm to 1,700 rpm, the throttle opening of 30%-60%. The first testing was done by creating a constant speed 1,500 rpm and throttle opening varies from 30% to 60%, further testing is done by varying the rpm start from 1,100 rpm to 1,700 rpm to make constant valve 40% and 60%.展开更多

Like plants, ...Algae can be found in ponds, rivers, lakes, abandoned ponds and also can grow abundantly in the aged pond of leachate landfill since there is the source of sunlight, CO2 (carbon dioxide) and nutrients. Like plants, algae make their own food by photosynthesis but differ from the plant; algae do not have roots, petals, stems or leaves. Leachate is the water that contains dissolved and suspended solids resulting from the percolation of water that drains through the waste in the landfill. The constituents of the leachate include organic matters and inorganic matters which depend on the age of landfill and type of the waste. The aim of this research study is to identify the characteristics of the leachate from aged landfill that cause the growth of the algae. Metals that act as the nutrients that exist in the leachate were measured using ICP-OES (inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy). BOD5 (biochemical oxygen demand that is measured in 5 days) and COD (chemical oxygen demand) were measured using DO (dissolved oxygen) meter and spectrophotometer, respectively. The pH of the leachate was measured using pH meter. The results showed that the highest metal that exists in the leachate was magnesium in quantity of 8.52 ppm. BOD5 and COD of the leachate gave the results of 5.24 mg/L and 99.67 mg/L, respectively. The pH of the leachate is considered as alkaline since the value of the pH is 8.38. This indicates that the characteristics of the leachate for algae growth was aged landfill with the alkaline condition and the nutrient needed by the algae for growing is magnesium.展开更多
