The results show that the composition of liquid-liquid phase equilibrium of l-butanol-water system has definitely changed, the composition of l-butanol in light phase (l-butanol layer) increases by 1. 17%-1.63% and the composition of water in heavy phase (water layer) increases by 1.21%-1.58% under the influence of magnetic field. By separation of magnetization, the composition of l-butanol increases by 0.8%-1.2% and the recovery ratio of 1 -butanol increases by 1.6%-2.5%. Magnetic field has positive effect, however, the magnetized effect is not in proportion to magnetic induction intensity and has an optimum condition, in the range of 0.25 T-0. 3 T.展开更多

However, the presence of gross errors can severely bias the reconciled results. Robust estimators can significantly reduce the effect of gross errors and yield less-biased results. In this article, a new method is proposed to solve the robust data reconciliation problem of nonlinear chemical process. By using several technologies including linearization method, penalty function, virtual observation equation, and equivalent weights method, the robust data reconciliation problem can be transformed into least squares estimator problem which leads to the convenience in computation. Simulation results in a nonlinear chemical process demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.展开更多

In this paper, an effective discrete-time adaptive control method is proposed for Wiener nonlinear systems with uncertainties. The parameterization model is derived based on the inverse of the nonlinear function block. The adaptive control method is motivated by self-tuning control and is derived from a modified Clarke criterion function, which considers both tracking properties and control efforts. The uncertain parameters are updated by a recursive least squares algorithm and the control law exhibits an explicit form. The closed-loop system stability properties are discussed. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results, two groups of simulation examples including an application to composition control in a continuously stirred tank reactor(CSTR) system are studied.展开更多

And the nonlinear Hammerstein system pole placement self tuning control(NL-PP-STC) algorithm was presented in detail. The identi fication ability of its parameter estimation algorithm of NL-PP-STC was analyzed, which was always identi fiable in closed loop. Two particular problems including the selection of poles and the on-line estimation of model parameters, which may be met in applications of NL-PP-STC to real process control, were discussed. The control simulation of a strong nonlinear p H neutralization process was carried out and good control performance was achieved.展开更多

A modification has been proposed in IMC-PID tuning rule for the improved disturbance rejection. For the modified IMC-PID tuning rule, a method has been developed to obtain the IMC-PID setting in closed-loop mode without acquiring detailed information of the process. The proposed method is based on the closed-loop step set point experiment using a proportional only controller with gain K_(c0). It is the direct approach to find the PID controller setting similar to classical Ziegler-Nichols closed-loop method. Based on simulations of a wide range of first-order with delay processes, a simple correlation has been derived to obtain the modified IMC-PID controller settings from closed-loop experiment. In this method, controller gain is a function of the overshoot obtained in the closed loop set point experiment. The integral and derivative time is mainly a function of the time to reach the first peak(overshoot). Simulation has been conducted for the broad class of processes and the controllers were tuned to have the same degree of robustness by measuring the maximum sensitivity, Ms, in order to obtain a reasonable comparison. The PID controller settings obtained in the proposed tuning method show better performance and robustness with other two-step tuning methods for the broad class of processes. It has also been applied to temperature control loop in distillation column model. The result has been compared to the open loop tuning method where it gives robust and fast response.展开更多

But the efficiency will decrease significantly when this method is applled in a large-scale problem because there are too many binary variables involved. In this article, an improved method is proposed in order to gen- erate gross error candidates with reliability factors before data rectification. Candidates are used in the MILP objec- tive function to improve the efficiency and accuracy by reducing the number of binary variables and giving accurate weights for suspected gross errors candidates. Performance of this improved method is compared and discussed by applying the algorithm in a widely used industrial example.展开更多
