The results show that international oil prices play an important role in precious metal price variation both in long-term and short-term, and exchange rate only has an effect in short-term, while interest rate is ineffective in predicting precious metal prices. In addition, precious metal prices have some feedback effects on international oil prices and interest rate in short-term.展开更多

It is capable of improving the computation p...A novel nonlinear multi-input multi-output MIMO detection algorithm is proposed which is referred to as an ordered successive noise projection cancellation OSNPC algorithm. It is capable of improving the computation performance of the MIMO detector with the conventional ordered successive interference cancellation OSIC algorithm. In contrast to the OSIC in which the known interferences in the input signal vector are successively cancelled the OSNPC successively cancels the known noise projections from the decision statistic vector. Analysis indicates that the OSNPC is equivalent to the OSIC in error performance but it has significantly less complexity in computation.Furthermore when the OSNPC is applied to the MIMO detection with the preprocessing of dual lattice reduction DLR the computational complexity of the proposed OSNPC-based DLR-aided detector is further reduced due to the avoidance of the inverse of the reduced basis of the dual lattice in computation compared to that of the OSIC-based one. Simulation results validate the theoretical conclusions with regard to both the performance and complexity of the proposed MIMO detection scheme.展开更多
A 65-year-old man presented to our cardiovascular department due to fatigue and palpation on exertion during the previous three weeks. He had a medical history of diabetes mellitus and hyperlipemia without hypertensio...A 65-year-old man presented to our cardiovascular department due to fatigue and palpation on exertion during the previous three weeks. He had a medical history of diabetes mellitus and hyperlipemia without hypertension or myocarditis. However, he mentioned that his son had dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Examination at admission revealed a blood pressure of 115/69 mmHg and pulse of 82 beats/min. The results of routine blood tests for creatine kinase (CK), CK muscle and brain (CK-MB), troponin T, and thyroid function were all within normal limits. ECG revealed I, aVL, and V4--6 T wave inversion (Figure 1). Ultrasonic cardiography showed that the left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) was 32%, in- dicating ventricular wall dysfunction. Angiography showed no coronary stenosis. Radionuclide imaging demonstrated myopathy of the anterior, part of the inferior, the posterior,and the lateral apical segments based on reduced radioactivity with a patchy pattern, consistent with DCM (Figure 2A).展开更多

By X2 test, t-test of distribution coefficient Cx method, and F test of Morisita pattern index Iδ whether the distribution patterns of the T. ciliata Roem. populations conformed to Poisson distribution were checked. The results indicated that, population T1 was in Poisson distribution under 5 m×5 m and 3 m×3 m in size by Cx and 16 methods, but in clumped distribution pattern un- der 5 m×5 m in size by the Chi-square test; however, the population was in Pois- son distribution under the dimension of 3 m×3 m. Population T2 under human dis- turbance had higher population density, indicating clumped distribution under 3 above-mentioned tests. China Ocean ReAnalysis(CORA) version 1.0 products for the period 2009-18 have been developed and validated.The model configuration and assimilation algorithm have both been updated compared to those of the 51-year(195...China Ocean ReAnalysis(CORA) version 1.0 products for the period 2009-18 have been developed and validated.The model configuration and assimilation algorithm have both been updated compared to those of the 51-year(1958-2008) products.The assimilated observations include temperature and salinity field data,satellite remote sensing sea surface temperature,and merged sea surface height(SSH) anomaly data.The validation includes the following three aspects:(1) Temperature,salinity,and SSH anomaly root-mean-square errors(RMSEs) are computed as a primary evaluation of the reanalysis quality.The 0-2000 m domain-averaged RMSEs of temperature and salinity are 0.61℃ and 0.08 psu,respectively.The SSH anomaly RMSE is less than 0.2 m in most regions.(2) The 35°N temperature section is used to evaluate the ability to reproduce the thermocline,mixing layer,and Yellow Sea cold water mass.In summer,the thermocline is reinforced,with the gradient changing from 3℃ in May to 10℃ in August.The mixing-layer depth reproduced by CORA is consistent with that computed from the observed climatology.The Yellow Sea cold water mass forms at a depth of 50 m.(3) The reanalysis current is examined against the tracks of some drifting buoys.The results show that the reanalysis current can capture the mesoscale eddies near the Kuroshio,which are similar to those described by the drifting buoys.Overall,the 2009-18 CORA reanalysis products are capable of reproducing major oceanic phenomena and processes in the coastal waters of China and adjacent seas.展开更多

In this paper, an enhanced shape distributions-based technique of using geometrical and topological information to search 3D engineering models represented by polygonal meshes was presented. A simplification method of polygonal meshes was used to simplify engineering model as the pretreatment for generation of sample points. The method of sampling points was improved and a pair of functions that was more sensitive to shape was employed to construct a 2D shape distribution. Experiments were conducted to evaluate the proposed algorithm utilizing the Engineering Shape Benchmark (ESB) database. The experiential results suggest that the search effectiveness is significantly improved by enforcing the simplification and enhanced shape distributions to engineering model retrieval.展开更多

From previous studies, we include three ...This study investigates the relationship between trading volume and returns in SET50 index Futures market in the period from April 2006 to December 2008 using 653 observations. From previous studies, we include three methodologies namely the GARCH model, the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) to estimate systems of equations and the Granger causality test to investigate the relationship more thoroughly. In addition, we introduce the lagged volume as a new explanatory variable in the GARCH model. Overall, the results show the significant contemporaneous and dynamic relationships between trading volume and returns volatility which support the sequential information arrival hypothesis and imply some degree of market inefficiency. The results from this study also show that past information of trading volume can be used to improve the prediction of price volatility. Therefore, regulators and traders could include past information of trading volume of SET50 index futures in tracking and monitoring the market volatility level and the investment risk in order to make a timely decision.展开更多

The highest mercury concentrations were recorded at the sites located lowest cover the plant and close to the diesel-electric generators. Mercury concentrations in leaf plant Ziziphusspina-christi higher concentration than the rest type and soil were mostly higher mercury concentration. Also ratio of carbon to coincide with the increase in the concentration of mercury in the soil of the study areas. Mercury is more biologically because of his preference to bind with carbon. This research confirms that Campus University is key areas for formation of bioavailable mercury distribution is tied to organic carbon.展开更多

The present study aims to examine the effect of personality factors (i.e., neuroticism, extraversion, conscientiousness, openness to experience and agreeableness) on the external auditors' ability to detect the likelihood of fraud. An experimental approach is adopted by sending case materials to audit partners and audit managers attached to auditing firms operating in Malaysia. To date, there have been only a few insufficient researches on this topic in Japan. ...This study investigates the extent of the influence of imported fishmeal price changes on the market price of pisciculture products. To date, there have been only a few insufficient researches on this topic in Japan. This paper aims to reveal the causality relationship between the market price of imported fishmeal and the market price of pisciculture products using the granger causality test, and to simulate the market price of pisciculture products using impulse response functions as the price of imported fishmeal increases. The results of the granger causality test and impulse response function analyses were as follows: (1) there is a market linkage from the price of imported fishmeal to the market price of sea bream, but no causality with the market price yellowtail; and (2) this has a positive impact on the market price of sea bream when the price of imported fishmeal changes. Moreover, spillover effects were noticed in this simple scenario (at a market price of 800 yen/kg and one unit shock of 1 yen) of about 3 yen/kg.展开更多

Ou...This study is to use cointegration, linear and non-linear Granger causality test to investigate the relationship between carbon dioxide (CO2) emissionand economic growth (GDP) in China for the period 1961-2010. Our analysis shows that CO2 emission and GDP are balanced in the long-run. The results suggest that there is evidence that economic development can improve environmental degradation in the long-run. Moreover, the result of linear and non-linear Granger causality test indicates a long-run unidirectional causality running from GDP to CO2 emissions. The study suggests that in the long run, economic growth may have an adverse effect on the CO2 emissions in China. Government should take into account the environment in their current policies, which may be of great importance for policy decision-makers to develop economic policies to preserve economic growth while curbing of carbon emissions.展开更多

Since Chinese law has not made explicit stipulation on the function of the People's Procuratorate instituting environmental public interest litigation, the plaintiff's subject qualification for environmental public interest litigation instituted by the People's Procuratorate is still in question. In order to propel the People's Procuratorate to completely and fully exercise their power of supervision and prosecution, there shall be corresponding legislation that provides powerful guarantee for the People's Procuratorate instituting environmental public interest litigation.
文摘Auditing standards require external auditors to provide reasonable assurance that the financial statements are free from material misstatements, either due to fraud or error. Inability of the external auditors to detect the material misstatements, particularly fraud, may expose them to litigation. The present study aims to examine the effect of personality factors (i.e., neuroticism, extraversion, conscientiousness, openness to experience and agreeableness) on the external auditors' ability to detect the likelihood of fraud. An experimental approach is adopted by sending case materials to audit partners and audit managers attached to auditing firms operating in Malaysia. The result shows that personality does not have a positive effect on the external auditors' ability to detect the likelihood of fraud.
文摘Shallow gas is composed of all kinds of shallow buried natural gas resources( < 1500 m) with relatively small reserve for each gas resource. It has some advantages such as shallow burial depth,good physical properties and the huge accumulations. Based on the Wigner-Vill distribution,a general spectral decomposition method is applied in the shallow gas detection. Cone-shaped kernel function filtering method is used to suppress cross-terms of the Wigner-Ville distribution,which is tested on field seismic data. Because of shallow gas reservoir has a characteristic that low frequency energy is stronger and high frequency energy is weaker,it indicates the presence of shallow gas successfully.
文摘This study investigates the extent of the influence of imported fishmeal price changes on the market price of pisciculture products. To date, there have been only a few insufficient researches on this topic in Japan. This paper aims to reveal the causality relationship between the market price of imported fishmeal and the market price of pisciculture products using the granger causality test, and to simulate the market price of pisciculture products using impulse response functions as the price of imported fishmeal increases. The results of the granger causality test and impulse response function analyses were as follows: (1) there is a market linkage from the price of imported fishmeal to the market price of sea bream, but no causality with the market price yellowtail; and (2) this has a positive impact on the market price of sea bream when the price of imported fishmeal changes. Moreover, spillover effects were noticed in this simple scenario (at a market price of 800 yen/kg and one unit shock of 1 yen) of about 3 yen/kg.
文摘Malnutrition is an independent risk factor for patient morbidity and mortality and is associated with increased healthcarerelated costs.However,a major dilemma exists due to lack of a unified definition for the term.Furthermore,there are no standard methods for screening and diagnosing patients with malnutrition,leading to confusion and varying practices among physicians across the world.The role of inflammation as a risk factor for malnutrition has also been recently recognized.Historically,serum proteins such as albumin and prealbumin(PAB)have been widely used by physicians to determine patient nutritional status.However,recent focus has been on an appropriate nutrition-focused physical examination(NFPE)for diagnosing malnutrition.The current consensus is that laboratory markers are not reliable by themselves but could be used as a complement to a thorough physical examination.Future studies are needed to identify serum biomarkers in order to diagnose malnutrition unaffected by inflammatory states and have the advantage of being noninvasive and relatively cost-effective.However,a thorough NFPE has an unprecedented role in diagnosing malnutrition.

文摘This study is to use cointegration, linear and non-linear Granger causality test to investigate the relationship between carbon dioxide (CO2) emissionand economic growth (GDP) in China for the period 1961-2010. Our analysis shows that CO2 emission and GDP are balanced in the long-run. The results suggest that there is evidence that economic development can improve environmental degradation in the long-run. Moreover, the result of linear and non-linear Granger causality test indicates a long-run unidirectional causality running from GDP to CO2 emissions. The study suggests that in the long run, economic growth may have an adverse effect on the CO2 emissions in China. Government should take into account the environment in their current policies, which may be of great importance for policy decision-makers to develop economic policies to preserve economic growth while curbing of carbon emissions.
