Also, the need for diversified services and flexible extensions of network security asks for more considerations and contribu?tions from the perspective of software engineering in the process of designing and constructing security systems. Based on the essence of the virtualization technique and the idea of software-defined networks, we in this paper propose a novel software-defi ned security architecture for systems. By abstracting the traditional security facilities and techniques, the proposed security architecture provides a new, simple, effective, and programmable framework in which security operations and security controls can be decoupled, and thereby reduces the software module sizes, decreases the intensity of software deve?lopments, and improves the security extensibility of systems. 展开更多

SS-SERA:An improved framework for architectural level soft error reliability analysis 被引量:2

Integrated with an improved architectural vulnerability factor (AVF) computing model, a new architectural level soft error reliability analysis framework, SS-SERA (soft error reliability analysis based on SimpleSca... Integrated with an improved architectural vulnerability factor (AVF) computing model, a new architectural level soft error reliability analysis framework, SS-SERA (soft error reliability analysis based on SimpleScalar), was developed. SS-SERA was used to estimate the AVFs for various on-chip structures accurately. Experimental results show that the AVFs of issue queue (IQ), register update units (RUU), load store queue (LSQ) and functional unit (FU) are 38.11%, 22.17%, 23.05% and 24.43%, respectively. For address-based structures, i.e., levell data cache (LID), DTLB, level2 unified cache (L2U), levell instruction cache (LII) and ITLB, AVFs of their data arrays are 22.86%, 27.57%, 14.80%, 8.25% and 12.58%, lower than their tag arrays' AVFs which are 30.01%, 28.89%, 17.69%, 10.26% and 13.84%, respectively. Furthermore, using the AVF values obtained with SS-SERA, a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the AVF variation and predictability was performed for the structures studied. Experimental results show that the AVF exhibits significant variations across different structures and workloads, and is influenced by multiple microarchitectural metrics and their interactions. Besides, AVFs of SPEC2K floating point programs exhibit better predictability than SPEC2K integer programs. 展开更多

Together with this differentiation, a new notion was born in the field of journalism during occupation period of the lraq by the USA--Embedded Journalism This notion, called as "embedded journalism" in English can be translated as "yapismislik--attachment", "gomulmusluk---embeddedness", and "yamanmis-patched" in Turkish. Dimension-controllable supramolecular organic frameworks(SOFs)with aggregation-enhanced fluorescence are hierarchically fabricated through the host-guest interactions of cucurbit[8]uril(CB[8])and coumarin-modified tetraphenylethylene derivatives(TPEC).The three-dimensional layered SOFs could be constructed from the further stacking of two-dimensional mono-layered structures via simply regulating the self-assembly conditions including the culturing time and concentration.Upon light irradiation under the wavelength of 365 nm,the photodimerization of coumarin moieties occurred,which resulted in the transformation of the resultant TPECn/CB[8]4n two-dimensional SOFs into robust covalently-connected 2D polymers with molecular thickness.Interestingly,the supramolecular system of TPEC/CB[8]exhibited intriguing multicolor fluorescence emission from yellow to blue in the time range of 0-24 h at 365 nm irradiation,possessing potential applicability for photochromic fluorescence ink. 展开更多

In design and construction of low/high rise buildings, different forms of construction can be applied such as concrete shear wall structural system and framed structural system without or with masonry infill walls. At present, most buildings in East Africa are constructed as reinforced concrete framed structures with strong masonry infill, but during design, engineers assume that the masonry infill panels have zero contribution in offering load resistance. Due to the problem above, a study with an objective of finding out the influence of masonry panels on the properties of reinforced concrete infilled frame under vertical load has been done. Three types of models: reinforced concrete frame model, masonry model and reinforced concrete frame with masonry infill, were investigated using finite element technique. In additional to the finite element analysis, laboratory models were prepared and tested so as to check the validity of the analytical results. The obtained results have led to an establishment of a mathematical model which may be useful to the design engineers since masonry wall panels can now be considered as load bearing elements. Such consideration of frame together with masonry leads to an accurate and optimal design of the frame, resulting into lesser amount of reinforcement and geometrical properties of the frame. 展开更多

The strength and stiffness contribution of infill masonry is generally ignored in the design, due to the uncertainty in the strength properties of masonry, separation of infill from frame, low tensile strength, brittle characteristics of masonry walls, less out of plane strength and stiffness, etc.. They are considered as nonstructural elements which is reasonable for the frames under gravity loads but it is not true for the frames under seismic loads. Contained masonry as infill in RC (reinforced concrete) frames provides better contact at the interface and a higher out of plane strength and stiffness. Considering the seismic action on the frames which are likely to be subjected to in-plane as well as out of plane shaking, a research work has been carried out by the authors to investigate the seismic performance of RC frames with and without contained masonry infill panels using FE (finite element) computer program (ANSYS-Ver. l 1) and experimentally using the tri-axial shake table to evaluate the methods proposed in IS-1893-2002 to calculate the fundamental natural frequency. The RC frames were designed and detailed as per IS (Indian Standard) specifications such as IS 456-2000, IS 1893-2002 and IS 13920-1993. Based on the experimental and analytical investigations, the contained masonry infill panels significantly affect the seismic load resisting characteristics of the RC frames. The IS 1893-2002 formulation does not predict the values and hence the recommendation needs to be validated with experimental results. 展开更多

The behaviors of infill wall in earthquakes show that infill masonry walls,which are used as nonstructural elements of concrete frames,are vulnerable when they are subjected to earthquake.In order to achieve an optimal antiseismic behavior,or even stability,two methods of connection are investigated.The shaking table tests,with 1:3 scale walls of two-storey model subjected to horizontal earthquake loads,were carried out to investigate the out-of-plane behaviors with different connections between walls and beams.The test results show that the connection methods employed between walls and beams have a significant effect on the out-of-plane stability of infill walls.The walls bound by bars with the beams perform better than those with inclined bricks without gaps. 展开更多

The subject structure was consisted of a proto-type house with plan dimensions of 8 m ×4 m. A variety of materials was used to the construction, with special emphasis on using environmentally friendly non-toxic materials. The structure's core consisted of reinforced concrete frames with masonry infill walls. Inside faces of the walls and the roof's outside face were covered with proprietary composite panels, which are manufactured with a mixture of cement, volcanic ash, and local sawmill waste. These panels were analyzed for their physical and chemical properties, as well as for their resistance to decay and insects when subjected to extreme conditions for 15 years. The panels have also shown to provide thermal insulation and nonflammable when in direct contact with fire. The roof surface was further covered with a blend of local drought-resistant succulents and cacti. This study provides a detailed review of the construction process and materials employed. 展开更多

Since first reported in 1990, MOFs have attracted extensive attention and the fabrication of MOF membranes has expanded their applications and endowed them with a bright future in various fields. The mass transportation process through MOF membranes is vital during their diverse applications. In this review, the strategies of preparing continuous and well-intergrown MOF membranes are presented firstly.The selective transportation processes of gas molecules, liquid molecules and ions through MOF membranes are discussed in detail, respectively. The effects of pore entrance size, interaction, functional groups decorating on the ligands and guest components on mass transportation have been summarized in this review as well. In addition, MOF membranes with selective transportation performance demonstrate potential in separation, catalysis, energy transformation and storage devices,and so on. 展开更多

AS a result, methods to quantitatively assess characteristics of software have attracted significant atten- tion. These efforts have led to a large number of new measures such as coupling metrics, many of which seek to consider the impact of correlations between components and failures on ap- plication reliability. However, most of these approaches set the coupling parameters arbitrarily by making assumptions instead of utilizing experimental data and therefore may not accurately capture actual coupling between components of software applica- tion. Since the coupling matrix is often set arbitrarily, the existing approaches to assess software reliability considering component correlation fail to reflect the real degree of interaction and rela- tionships among software components. This paper presents an efficient approach to assess the software reliability considering Correlated component failures, incorporating software architec- ture while considering actual internal coupling of software with an efficient approach based on multivariate Bernoulli (MVB) distribu- tion. The unified framework for software Coupling measurement is' informed by a comprehensive survey of frameworks for object- oriented and procedure-oriented software. This framework enables the extraction of more accurate coupling among cornponents.
