SDICN: A Software Defined Deployable Framework of Information Centric Networking 被引量:4

the Information-Centric Networking(ICN) paradigm is proved to have the advantages of decreasing data delivery latency, enhancing user mobility, etc. However, current implementations of ICN require changing the infrast... the Information-Centric Networking(ICN) paradigm is proved to have the advantages of decreasing data delivery latency, enhancing user mobility, etc. However, current implementations of ICN require changing the infrastructure of Internet, which hinders its deployment and development. Meanwhile, Software Defined Networking(SDN) emerges as a viable solution to facilitate the deployment of new network paradigm without disrupting production traffic by decoupling the control plane from data forwarding plane. In this paper, the essential properties which reflect ICN working principles are summarized, and a framework called SDICN is designed in accordance to the SDN philosophy. The algorithmic frameworks of SDICN which can satisfy the essential properties are designed based on the programmability and virtualization functions of SDN. Based on Open Flow and data center technology, a prototype of SDICN is implemented. By comparing the performance with the CCNx, the SDICN is proved to be feasibility and availability. 展开更多

Community Perceptions of New Residents in Penghu County, Taiwan

In order to get close to and support the "new residents" of Penghu County, Taiwan (known as female foreign spouses, who are from China's Mainland and Southeast Asia), this study was conducted to set up a new service framework in the local community by the Penghu County Service Center for new residents. This study was implemented between May and July of 2011 to understand the local community perception of new residents living in five rural areas, and one city of Penghu, and to understand the community perceptions of these new residents. This includes: the new residents' feelings about the community, the new residents' feelings about interaction with the locals, multicultural acceptance of the community, and the new residents' feelings about participation in local activities. According to the parameters of this research, quantitative research methodology was adopted. After questionnaire studies and data analysis, the key findings are thus: New residents living areas have significant impact on the community perceptions of them, especially in two areas: the new resident's feeling relating to the community environment and their perception of interaction with the locals. 展开更多

With the advent of the era of cloud computing, the high energy consumption of cloud computing data centers has become a prominent problem, and how to reduce the energy consumption of cloud computing data center and improve the efficiency of data center has become the research focus of researchers all the world. In a cloud environment, virtual machine consolidation(VMC) is an effective strategy that can improve the energy efficiency. However, at the same time, in the process of virtual machine consolidation, we need to deal with the tradeoff between energy consumption and excellent service performance to meet service level agreement(SLA). In this paper, we propose a new virtual machine consolidation framework for achieving better energy efficiency-Improved Underloaded Decision(IUD) algorithm and Minimum Average Utilization Difference(MAUD) algorithm. Finally, based on real workload data on Planet Lab, experiments have been done with the cloud simulation platform Cloud Sim. The experimental result shows that the proposed algorithm can reduce the energy consumption and SLA violation of data centers compared with existing algorithms, improving the energy efficiency of data centers. 展开更多
