Based on double-threshold energy det...Due to the fact that the conventional spectrum sensing algorithm is susceptible to noise, an adaptive double-threshold energy detection algorithm for a cognitive radio is proposed. Based on double-threshold energy detection, the algorithm can adaptively switch between one-round sensing and two-round sensing by comparing the observations with the pre-fixed thresholds. Mathematical expressions for the probability of detection, the probability of false alarm, and the sensing time are derived. The relationships including signal to noise ratio (SNR) vs. the probability of detection and SNR vs. the sensing time are plotted using Monte Carlo simulation and the algorithm is verified in a real cognitive system based on GNU Radio and universal software radio peripheral (USRP). Simulation and experimental results show that, compared with the existing spectrum sensing method, the proposed algorithm can achieve a higher probability of detection within a reasonable sensing time.展开更多

In this paper, we propose an approach to datum correction that combines a joint tomography inversion with wavefield continuation to solve the static problem for seismic data on rugged acquisition topography. First, the near surface model is obtained by refracted wave tomography inversion. Second, the wavefield of sources and receivers are continued downward and upward to accomplish datum correction starting from a flat surface and locating the datum above topography. Based on the reciprocal theorem, Huygens' and Fresnel principles, the location of sources and receivers, and regarding the recorded data on the surface as a secondary emission, the sources and receivers are upward-continued to the datum above topography respectively. Thus, the datum correction using joint tomography inversion and wavefield continuation with the condition of a complex near surface is accomplished.展开更多

NIR spectral images (650~1 000 nm, resolution: 2 nm) of peach samples were captured with developed hyperspectral imaging setup. Partial least square (PLS) regression prediction model was developed to estimate the sugar content in peach; step-wise backward method was utilized to determine optimal wavelength subsets. Experimental results show that the calibration model with optimal wavelength subsets has a correlation coefficient of prediction of 0.97 and a standard error of prediction of 0.19, the prediction accuracy is higher than the calibration model applied over the whole wavelength, which proves that variable selection plays an important role in improving the prediction accuracy of PLS regression model.展开更多
A most promising solution to the expansion of spectrum efficiency is cognitive radio(CR)and this expansion is achieved by permitting the licensed frequency bands to be accessed by unlicensed secondary users(SUs)with a...A most promising solution to the expansion of spectrum efficiency is cognitive radio(CR)and this expansion is achieved by permitting the licensed frequency bands to be accessed by unlicensed secondary users(SUs)with a lack of interference with licensed primary users(PUs).This utilization of CR networks in the spectrum sensing causes vulnerable attacks like primary user emulation(PUE)attack and here PUs play the role of malicious user and do not permit other users to utilize PUs channel even in their unavailability.On the basis of the traditional single-threshold energy detection algorithm,a novel modified double-threshold energy detector is formulated in the CR network and the detection probability,miss detection probability,probability of false alarm,and their inter-relationship are analyzed.This paper develops a modified double threshold energy detection cooperative spectrum sensing technique to alleviate the PUE attack.Finally,performance-based evaluation is carried out between the proposed and the existing energy detection spectrum sensing method that had no consideration on PUE attack.The resultant of the simulation in MATLAB has revealed that the proposed model has significantly mitigated PUE attack by means of providing outstanding performance.展开更多
AIM: To investigate the expression of Popeye domain containing 3 (Popdc3) and its correlation with clinicopathological features and prognosis of gastric cancer.METHODS: The method of immunohistochemistry was used ...AIM: To investigate the expression of Popeye domain containing 3 (Popdc3) and its correlation with clinicopathological features and prognosis of gastric cancer.METHODS: The method of immunohistochemistry was used to investigate the expression of Popdc3 in 306 cases of human gastric cancer and 84 noncancerous gastric tissues. Simultaneously, the relationship between Popdc3 expression and the survival of the patients was retrospectively analyzed.RESULTS: Popdc3 was detected in 72 (85.71%) of 84 human nontumor mucosa. High expression of Popdc3protein was detected in 78 (25.49%) of 306 human gastric cancer cases, and low expression was detected in 228 (74.51%). Low expression of Popdc3 correlated with depth of invasion (P 〈 0.0001), regional lymph nodes (P 〈 0.0001) and distant metastasis (P =0.02), and tumor, nodes, metastasis (TNM) stages (P 〈 0.0001). On multivariate analysis, only the patient's gender, regional lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, TNM stages, and the expression of Popdc3 were independent prognostic factors in patients with gastric cancer. The Kaplan-Meier plot showed that low Popdc3 expression had a much more significant effect on the survival of those patients with early-stage tumors X^2 = 104.741, P 〈 0.0001), with a 〉 51.9% reduction in the three-year survival compared with high Popdc3 expression. In late stages, the difference was also significant X^2 = 5.930, P = 0.015), with a 32.6% reduction in the three-year survival.CONCLUSION: Reduced expression of Popdc3 may play a significant role in the carcinogenesis and progression of gastric cancer. A quantitative structure-property relationship model was proposed for estimating the thermal decomposition temperatures of organic peroxides. The entire set of 38 organic peroxides was at random divided into a training set for model development and a prediction set for external model validation. The novel local molecular descriptors of AT1, AT2, AT3, AT4, AT5, AT6 and global molecular descriptor of ATC have been proposed in order to character organic peroxides’ molecular structures. An accurate quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) equation is developed for the thermal decomposition temperatures of organic peroxides. The statistical results showed that the QSPR model was obtained using the multiple linear regression (MLR) method with correlation coefficient (R), standard deviation (S), leave-one-out validation correlation coefficient (RCV) values of 0.9795, 6.5676 ℃ and 0.9328, respectively. The average absolute relative deviation (AARD) is only 3.86% for the experimental values. Model test by internal leave-one-out cross validation and external validation and molecular descriptor interpretation were discussed. Comparison with literature results demonstrated that novel local and global descriptors were useful molecular descriptors for predicting the thermal decomposition temperatures of organic peroxides.展开更多
Focusing on controlling the press-assembly quality of high-precision servo mechanism,an intelligent early warning method based on outlier data detection and linear regression is proposed.Linear regression is used to d...Focusing on controlling the press-assembly quality of high-precision servo mechanism,an intelligent early warning method based on outlier data detection and linear regression is proposed.Linear regression is used to deal with the relationship between assembly quality and press-assembly process,then the mathematical model of displacement-force in press-assembly process is established and a qualified press-assembly force range is defined for assembly quality control.To preprocess the raw dataset of displacement-force in the press-assembly process,an improved local outlier factor based on area density and P weight(LAOPW)is designed to eliminate the outliers which will result in inaccuracy of the mathematical model.A weighted distance based on information entropy is used to measure distance,and the reachable distance is replaced with P weight.Experiments show that the detection efficiency of the algorithm is improved by 5.6 ms compared with the traditional local outlier factor(LOF)algorithm,and the detection accuracy is improved by about 2%compared with the local outlier factor based on area density(LAOF)algorithm.The application of LAOPW algorithm and the linear regression model shows that it can effectively carry out intelligent early warning of press-assembly quality of high precision servo mechanism.展开更多
Detection of sulfur-oxidizing bacteria has largely been dependent on targeted gene sequencing technology or traditional cell cultivation, which usually takes from days to months to carry out. This clearly does not mee...Detection of sulfur-oxidizing bacteria has largely been dependent on targeted gene sequencing technology or traditional cell cultivation, which usually takes from days to months to carry out. This clearly does not meet the requirements of analysis for time-sensitive samples and/or complicated environmental samples. Since energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry(EDS) can be used to simultaneously detect multiple elements in a sample, including sulfur, with minimal sample treatment, this technology was applied to detect sulfur-oxidizing bacteria using their high sulfur content within the cell. This article describes the application of scanning electron microscopy imaging coupled with EDS mapping for quick detection of sulfur oxidizers in contaminated environmental water samples, with minimal sample handling. Scanning electron microscopy imaging revealed the existence of dense granules within the bacterial cells, while EDS identified large amounts of sulfur within them. EDS mapping localized the sulfur to these granules. Subsequent 16S rRNA gene sequencing showed that the bacteria detected in our samples belonged to the genus Chromatium, which are sulfur oxidizers. Thus, EDS mapping made it possible to identify sulfur oxidizers in environmental samples based on localized sulfur within their cells, within a short time(within 24 h of sampling). This technique has wide ranging applications for detection of sulfur bacteria in environmental water samples.展开更多

Workpieces with complex geometries and free forms has been a commo...Currently, engineering processes require reduced manufacturing time and low cost, in addition to the growing demand for workpieces with high accuracy. Workpieces with complex geometries and free forms has been a common practice in industries from different sectors such as: automotive, aeronautics, bioengineering among others. One way to satisfy the market requirements satisfactorily is making measurements more efficient to make the production process faster, in other words, it is necessary to make the inspection system more accurate and flexible. The coordinate measuring evolved over the past three decades and today it is the technology that best meets the requirements of modem manufacturing through CMMs (coordinate measurement machines). The CMMs are important tool for design, fabrication and inspection of manufactured products, also used in the application of reverse engineering. These machines are also used by engineers in order to produce an accurate digital model in a virtual space for later use in CAD (computer-aided design)/CAM (computer-aided manufacturing). It is worth mentioning that the accuracy of the modeling process of given piece depends on the number of control points that are captured on the workpiece surface. Consequently, the laser inspection systems are the best tools for use in reverse engineering, but more expensive when compared to contact measurement systems that use the TTP (touch trigger probe), also used by CMMs. In this case, this paper aims to present an approach based on NURBS (non-uniform rational B-splines) to obtain free form curves and surfaces from a group of points obtained by using a contact sensor, the touch trigger probe. NURBS is an important mathematical tool and consists of generalizations of Bezier curves and surfaces and B-splines. The approach proposed in this paper can be applied for obtaining free form curves and surfaces in spur and helical gears. Experimental results obtained by measuring spur gears showed that the NURBS technique contributes for application of CMMs with touch trigger probe in reverse engineering.展开更多

An accurate quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) equation is developed for the thermal decomposition temperatures of organic peroxides. The statistical results showed that the QSPR model was obtained using the multiple linear regression (MLR) method with correlation coefficient (R), standard deviation (S), leave-one-out validation correlation coefficient (RCV) values of 0.9795, 6.5676 ℃ and 0.9328, respectively. The average absolute relative deviation (AARD) is only 3.86% for the experimental values. Model test by internal leave-one-out cross validation and external validation and molecular descriptor interpretation were discussed. Comparison with literature results demonstrated that novel local and global descriptors were useful molecular descriptors for predicting the thermal decomposition temperatures of organic peroxides.
文摘Focusing on controlling the press-assembly quality of high-precision servo mechanism,an intelligent early warning method based on outlier data detection and linear regression is proposed.Linear regression is used to deal with the relationship between assembly quality and press-assembly process,then the mathematical model of displacement-force in press-assembly process is established and a qualified press-assembly force range is defined for assembly quality control.To preprocess the raw dataset of displacement-force in the press-assembly process,an improved local outlier factor based on area density and P weight(LAOPW)is designed to eliminate the outliers which will result in inaccuracy of the mathematical model.A weighted distance based on information entropy is used to measure distance,and the reachable distance is replaced with P weight.Experiments show that the detection efficiency of the algorithm is improved by 5.6 ms compared with the traditional local outlier factor(LOF)algorithm,and the detection accuracy is improved by about 2%compared with the local outlier factor based on area density(LAOF)algorithm.The application of LAOPW algorithm and the linear regression model shows that it can effectively carry out intelligent early warning of press-assembly quality of high precision servo mechanism.

文摘Detection of sulfur-oxidizing bacteria has largely been dependent on targeted gene sequencing technology or traditional cell cultivation, which usually takes from days to months to carry out. This clearly does not meet the requirements of analysis for time-sensitive samples and/or complicated environmental samples. Since energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry(EDS) can be used to simultaneously detect multiple elements in a sample, including sulfur, with minimal sample treatment, this technology was applied to detect sulfur-oxidizing bacteria using their high sulfur content within the cell. This article describes the application of scanning electron microscopy imaging coupled with EDS mapping for quick detection of sulfur oxidizers in contaminated environmental water samples, with minimal sample handling. Scanning electron microscopy imaging revealed the existence of dense granules within the bacterial cells, while EDS identified large amounts of sulfur within them. EDS mapping localized the sulfur to these granules. Subsequent 16S rRNA gene sequencing showed that the bacteria detected in our samples belonged to the genus Chromatium, which are sulfur oxidizers. Thus, EDS mapping made it possible to identify sulfur oxidizers in environmental samples based on localized sulfur within their cells, within a short time(within 24 h of sampling). This technique has wide ranging applications for detection of sulfur bacteria in environmental water samples.
文摘Currently, engineering processes require reduced manufacturing time and low cost, in addition to the growing demand for workpieces with high accuracy. Workpieces with complex geometries and free forms has been a common practice in industries from different sectors such as: automotive, aeronautics, bioengineering among others. One way to satisfy the market requirements satisfactorily is making measurements more efficient to make the production process faster, in other words, it is necessary to make the inspection system more accurate and flexible. The coordinate measuring evolved over the past three decades and today it is the technology that best meets the requirements of modem manufacturing through CMMs (coordinate measurement machines). The CMMs are important tool for design, fabrication and inspection of manufactured products, also used in the application of reverse engineering. These machines are also used by engineers in order to produce an accurate digital model in a virtual space for later use in CAD (computer-aided design)/CAM (computer-aided manufacturing). It is worth mentioning that the accuracy of the modeling process of given piece depends on the number of control points that are captured on the workpiece surface. Consequently, the laser inspection systems are the best tools for use in reverse engineering, but more expensive when compared to contact measurement systems that use the TTP (touch trigger probe), also used by CMMs. In this case, this paper aims to present an approach based on NURBS (non-uniform rational B-splines) to obtain free form curves and surfaces from a group of points obtained by using a contact sensor, the touch trigger probe. NURBS is an important mathematical tool and consists of generalizations of Bezier curves and surfaces and B-splines. The approach proposed in this paper can be applied for obtaining free form curves and surfaces in spur and helical gears. Experimental results obtained by measuring spur gears showed that the NURBS technique contributes for application of CMMs with touch trigger probe in reverse engineering.
