Four statistical criteria were used in this study, including the standard error of estimate(SEE),coefficient of determination(R^2), mean bias( E),and absolute mean difference(AMD). For the lack-offit statistics, SEE, E and AMD were determined in different relative height classes. The results indicated that the Kozak02 stem taper model offered the best fit for the four tropical species in most statistics. The Kozak02 model also consistently provided the best performance in the lack-of-fit statistics with the best SEE, E and AMD in most of the relative height classes. These stem taper equations could help forest managers and researchers better estimate the diameter of the outside bark with any given height, merchantable stem volumes and total stem volumes of standing trees belonging to the four species of thetropical forest in MMFR.展开更多

The results of assessment indicated that the spatial pattern of forest ecosystem health showed a decreasing trend along latitude gradients and longitude gradients. The healthy forests are mainly distributed in natural forests, tropical rainforests and seasonal rainforests; secondarily orderly in northeast national forest zone, subtropical forest zonation and southwest forest zonation; while the unhealthy forests were mainly located in warm temperate zone and Xinjiang-Mongolia forest zone. The coefficient of correction between Forest Ecosystem Health Index (FEHI) and annual average precipitation was 0.58 (p<0.01), while the coefficient of correlation between FEHI and annual mean temperatures was 0.49 (p<0.01), which identified that the precipitation and temperatures affect the pattern of FEHI, and the precipitation’s effect was stronger than the temperature’s. We also measured the correlation coefficient between FEHI and NPP, biodiversity and resistance, which were 0.64, 0.76 and 0.81 (p<0.01) respectively. The order of effect on forest ecosystem health was vigor, organization and resistance.展开更多

The basic requirement of multiple use forestry is to identify and quantify forest values and to determine management objectives. The priorities of management objectives, however, must be decided. In this study, a model predicting water production for multi-objective forest management was developed. The model was based on data from permanent sample plots. The data were gathered from 132 sample plots. Approximately 80% of the observations were used for model development and 20% for validation. The model was designed for even-aged forests, as well as for forests with mixed and pure species composition. The explicatory variable in the model was number of trees. All parameter estimates were found highly significant (P 〈 0.001) in predicting water production. The model fit and validation tests were fairly good. The water production model presented in this study was considered to have an appropriate level of reliability. planning, but, it should be limited to the conditions for which the data It can be used in the overall multi-objective forest management were gathered.展开更多

We developed a statistical procedure to identify expression biomarkers for treatment subtype classification by constructing an F-statistic based on Henderson method Ⅲ. Monte Carlo simulations were conducted to examine the robustness and efficiency of the proposed method. Simulation results showed that our method could provide satisfying power of identifying differentially expressed genes (DEGs) with false discovery rate (FDR) lower than the given type I error rate. In addition, we analyzed a leukemia dataset collected from 38 leukemia patients with 27 samples diagnosed as acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and 11 samples as acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We compared our results with those from the methods of significance analysis of microarray (SAM) and microarray analysis of variance (MAANOVA). Among these three methods, only expression biomarkers identified by our method can precisely identify the three human acute leukemia subtypes.展开更多

These theory and methods still face deviation of theories and methods from vague position of discipline, larger accounting results from ignoring differences between forest ecological functions and ecosystem services, and unrealistic and other problems from non-standard index system and accounting methods due to the development history and other reasons. Five suggestions are proposed to make explicit the object and purpose of the forest resource value accounting, establish universal, scientific, measurable and concise index system for value evaluation, calculate forest resources value in consideration of forest type and position, distinguish accurately the functions from benefits of the forest resources, and suit value calculation result to the practice of social economy.展开更多

The fish was fed with a commercial trout pellets, containing either 0 (control group) or 50 mg HMB kg^-1 body weight day^-1 (HMB fed group). After four weeks feeding, 20 pikeperch from each group were anaesthetised and blood and pronephros samples were taken. The levels of the following immunological parameters were measured: respiratory burst activity of phagocytes, potential killing activity of phagocytes, lymphocytes proliferation stimulated by concanavaline A or lipopolisaccharide, lysozyme activity in serum, ceruloplasmin activity in serum, total protein in serum and total immunoglobulin (Ig) level in serum. A disease challenge test using Yersinia ruckeri or Aeromonas salmonicida was conducted after 4 weeks of feeding. The levels of all immunological parameters excluding ceruloplasmin activity and total protein in serum were statistically significantly higher (P 〈 0.05) in the HMB treated group compared to the control group. Feeding with HMB has led to a significant decrease in the mortality after the challenge trial with Y. ruckeri (30% lower mortality than in the control group) and with theA. salmonicida (40% lower mortality than in the control group). The current study strongly suggests that feeding pikeperch with HMB in dose 50 mg kg^-1 body weight day^-1 may improve the innate immunity and decrease the mortality rates after experimental infection with pathogenic bacteria Y. ruckeri and A. salmonicida.展开更多

Many methods have been developed to determine characteristics and intensity of this impact. Methodologically, they can be divided into three groups: environmental parameter, bioindicative and combined methods. To evaluate the environmental impact a combined method was used in this study, it was based on trees as the bioindicators and their response reactions, and environmental parameter analysis. In this study the bioindicator was Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.), whose response reaction was used to explain total impact volumes of environmental factors in different places in the region of Kurzeme and try to interpret the causes of these differences. As the bioindicators criterion was used response reaction of Norway spruce during a period of 20 years, which was expressed with cumulative and annual additional volume increment, and was depending on the location of the stand and its morphometric characteristics. The empirical material was collected in Kurzeme region in 28 sample plots that are located on two transects and in one reference stand. For the evaluation the widths of the last 40 year growth rings were measured. To express the environmental impact in Kurzeme region a multiple regression model was developed, which explains the environmental impact in the volume of 68.2%, the rest part can be explained by the local conditions of each stand. It must be noted that methodology used in this study is very sensitive, thus, each of the nuances in the dynamics of volume's annual reduced additional increments has biological and ecological cause.展开更多

During the whole process, we only need to apply an external field along a given direction to a single qubit. This control strategy is effective for all initial states in the four-dimensional Hilbert space where the target state is asymptotically stable. The effects of imperfections on the fidelity for the target state such as Gaussian leakage of local control and localized dephasing of individual spins are also considered.展开更多
