Roth. is a perennial grass with slender and long rhizome segments between interconnected neighbor ramets. To investigate the phenotypic plasticity in response to the heterogeneous soil water supply, ramet pairs of the species were subjected to heterogeneous water supply by which either mother ramets or daughter ramets were in high or low soil water supply, respectively, in the Maowusu (Mu Us) Sandy Land of Nei Mongol. The results showed that the phenotypic characteristics of the individual ramets of C epigejos were greatly influenced by the heterogeneous water supply. The ramets treated with high water supply significantly produced more new rhizomes and more offspring (ramets), and accumulated more shoot biomass, and allocated more biomass to their shoots than those treated with low water supply. In comparison with the daughter ramets in homogeneous soil water supply, phenotypic characteristics, in terms of new rhizome growth, the production of new offspring, and the biomass allocation pattern, of the daughter ramets within the pairs of the species were not significantly changed, no matter that high or low soil water supply to mother ramets. The phenotypic responses of mother ramets to soil water supply were similar to those of daughter ramets. From these results, it is inferred that the interconnected ramets of C epigejos response phenotypically to their local soil water rather than to the soil water experienced by the interconnected ramets. The interconnected ramets of C epigejos might be independent of each other in water relationship, although they are physically interconnected with rhizome segments. The physiological independence of interconnected ramets might facilitate the risk spreading and thus enhance the genet survivorship under the frequent drought stresses in Mu Us Sandland.展开更多

[Method] The soil physicochemical proper- ties in five representative lands respectively covered by Artemisia ordosica, Salix cheilophila, Hedysarum scoparium, Populus simonii and Amorpha fruticosa, all of which were planted artificially at the same year were measured in the present study, using a bare soil as the control. [Result] Artificial vegetation improved the soil physicochemical properties by different extents in the lands covered by different plants. The soil physicochemical properties such as bulk density under A. Fruticosa and H. Scoparium were improved greatly. The frequency distribution of soil particle size under artificial vegetations exhibited a bimodal curve. The average soil particle size under A. fruticosa was the smallest, and the soil was very poorly sorted. The soil nutrients in the sandy land were not significantly improved by artificial vegeta- tion. [Conclusion] Artificial vegetation has a certain impact on soil properties in sandy land, as it greatly improves the soil physical properties but not the chemical properties.展开更多

The results indicated that vegetations in varied types have different effects on organic matter, total N, available N and available P, among which the first three were all higher in soils under closed grass, forest lands returned from farmlands, and fixed sandy lands than those under natural grass and abandoned lands. This was totally contrary with contents of available P in soil. In addition, nutrients in soils at 0-20 cm were more influenced by vegetation, than those at 20-60 cm, and Caragana Korshinskii proved better in improving nutrients in soils.展开更多

Considering the predicative global...The distribution pattern and productivity of Maowusu sandland terrestrial ecosystem are greatly affected with the future severe global change, especially global precipitation change. Considering the predicative global precipitation change and the appropriate relevant strategy for the sustainable development of the China dry territory, the authors have investigated the response of water balance to global precipitation change by creating an artificial control of four levels of water supply treating 3 dominant plants in Mauwusu sandland. The results showed that the seasonal changes of water storage and moisture of different sandland layer depths were affected by different water supply treatments and different plants. The water storage of the three plant growing sandlands and the moisture of different sandland layer depths increased as water supply was increased. The moisture of different water supply treatments and plants increased with the increase of sandland layer depth. The water storage and moisture of the same layer depth of Hedysarum mongolicum Turcz. growing sandland were larger than that of Salix psammophila C. Wang et Ch. Y. Yang growing sandland, which were in turn higher than that of Artemisia ordosica Krasch. growing sandland in the same water supply treatment. Water supply significantly affected the seasonal changes of evaporation and transpiration of the three plant growing sandlands. With the increased levels of water supply, viz. 157.5 mm, 315.0 mm, 472.5 mm and 630.0 mm, the total evaporation was 123.66 mm, 258.68 mm, 376.30 mm, 458.57 mm, respectively, and the total transpiration of A. ordosica was 50.80 mm, 68.93 mm, 108.39 mm, 163.36 mm, respectively, and that of S. psammophila , 47.37 mm, 68.17 mm, 93.65 mm, 135.97 mm, respectively, and that of H. mongolicum 46.73 mm, 67.37 mm, 86.07 mm, 109.64 mm, respectively. [Method] With four varieties of G. elata (Wu G. elata, Hong G. elata, Lv G. elata, Wu-Hong G. e/ata) as test matedals, box planting method and capillary electrophoresis determination were used to conduct the comparative analysis on the planting effect and biochemical fingerprint of four varieties of G. elata which were planted in the same conditions. [Result] There were no significant differences in the number of juvenile tubers after planting for 5 months, and the variety with the best growth potential was Hong G. elata. At 17 months after cultivation, there were no significant differences in the number of im- mature tubers, but the difference in the weight of immature tubers reached the significant level among the 4 varieties, among which Hong G. elata had the largest weight with the average reaching 3 042.20 g. After planting for 17 months, immature tubers of the 4 varieties were determined using capillary electrophoresis, and 4 large peaks were obtained on the maps, in which the 4th peak and the 1st peak had significant specificity. The 4th peak and 1st peak area ratio of Wu G. elata BI. was greater than or equal to 1, showing no intraspecific variation. [Conclusion] The study on the suitable growth environment and variation occurrence period of G. elata could provide theoretical basis for icultivation of G. elata.展开更多

The strains were identified on the base of their morphology and internal transcribed spacers(ITS) region. Pot experiments were conducted to study the effect of two strains(Z4 and Z8) on the growth and accumulation of Cd and Pb of Guizhou oilseed rape. The results show that strains Z4 and Z8 belong to Mucor circinelloides and Mucor racemosus, respectively. The heights of Guizhou oilseed rape inoculated with strain Z8 increase by 47.90% than the control. The highest fresh mass is found in the plant with Z4/Z8, which is enhanced by160.81%. Pot experiments show that Z4/Z8 inoculums can accelerate accumulation of heavy metals in the plant. The contents of Cd and Pb are increased by 117.60% and 63.48%, respectively. Meanwhile, the heavy metal concentrations in potting soil with the two strains are found to be lower than those of the control, and the concentrations of Cd and Pb are decreased by 60.57% and 27.12%,respectively.展开更多

METHODS: Liver transplantation models were estab-...AIM: To investigate the relationship between donor liver cold preservation, lung surfactant (LS) changes and acute lung injury (ALI) after liver transplantation. METHODS: Liver transplantation models were estab- lished using male Wistar rats. Donor livers were pre- served in University of Wisconsin solution at 4 ℃ for different lengths of time. The effect of ammonium pyr- rolidinedithiocarbamate (PDTC) on ALI was also detect- ed. All samples were harvested after 3 h reperfusion.The severity of AU was evaluated by lung weight/body weight ratio, lung histopathological score, serum nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin (ET)-I levels, lung tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-1β levels. Lung surfactants (LSs) were determined by micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography. RESULTS: With extended donor liver cold preservation time (CPT), lung histopathological scores, serum ET-i levels, lung weight/body weight ratio and the level of TNF-α and IL-1β in lung were increased significantly in the 180-min group compared with the sham group (3.16± 0.28 vs 1.12 ± 0.21, P 〈 0.001; 343.59±53.97 vs 141.53± 48.48, P 〈 0.001; 0.00687 ±0.00037 vs 0.00557 ±0.00056, P 〈 0.001; 17.5 ± 3.0 vs 1,3 ± 0.3, P 〈 0.001; 10.8± 2.3 vs 1.8 ± 0.4, P 〈 0.001), but serum NO levels decreased remarkably (74.67 ± 10.01 vs 24.97 ± 3.18, P 〈 0.001). The expression of lung phos- phatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylinositol (PI) and phosphatidylserine (PS) increased when CPT was 〈 120 rain, and decreased when CPT was 〉 180 min (PC: 1318.89 ± 54.79 vs 1011.18± 59.99, P 〈 0.001; PE: 1504.45± 119.96 vs 1340.80±76.39, P = 0.0019; PI: 201.23 ± 34.82 vs 185.88 ± 17.04, P = 0.2265; PS: 300.43±32.95 vs 286.55± 55.55, P = 0.5054). Euplotes appeared as an early branching group whose divergence from the hypotrichous line at a deep level was strongly supported by parsimony and matrix analyses. The analyses also supported the hypothesis that there were closely relationship between species in Urostyla and Holosticha. The sibling species Stylonychia mytilus and S. lemnae could be separated by the evolutionary analyses. Furthermore, Pseudokeronopsis rubra had relatively more closely relationship with the species in Holostichidae than that in Urostylidae based on the evolutionary distance value.展开更多

We noticed similiarity and variation between the two species regarding morphology of glandular trichomes. Two main types of glandular trichomes were identified on both species: peltate and capitate. Peltate trichomes consisted of a basal cell, one stalk cell and a large multisecretory head in S. officinalis L. In S. triloba L. peltate trichomes posses a basal cell, a short unicellular stalk, and a large secretory head with 8 secretory cells. In Salvia officinalis L., four types of capitate trichomes have been distinguished. Five types of capitate trichomes have been found in Salvia triloba L. The fifth type of capitate trichome, called digitiform trichome was found in S. triloba L. This determined interspecific diversity between the two Salvia species.展开更多

We evaluated the effect of N/P ratios on the proliferation and succession of phytoplankton using five marine micro algae species. We used two sources of nitrogen, NH4Cl (N1) and urea (N2), and a single source of phosphorous, NaH2PO4(P). The optimal N/P ratio that differed among the five species was affected by the source of nitrogen, being as follows (N1/P, N2/P in order): Thalassiosira sp. (30/1, 20/1), Heterosigma akashiwo (30/1, 30/1), Chroornonas salina (20/1, 30/1), Chaetoceros gracilis (40/1, 60/1), and A lexandrium sp. (10/1, 30/1). Thus, the source of nitrogen must be considered when analyzing the N/P ratio. Our results provide insight for predicting phytoplankton succession in coastal waters and may be used to forecast the potential risk of harmful algal blooms.展开更多
We cultured different-sized fractions of dominant phytoplankton species, Skeletonema costatum, Chaetoceros curvisetus, and Thalassiosira nordenskioldii, collected in different sea areas in various seasons, and measure...We cultured different-sized fractions of dominant phytoplankton species, Skeletonema costatum, Chaetoceros curvisetus, and Thalassiosira nordenskioldii, collected in different sea areas in various seasons, and measured and compared their C, N, P, Si contents. The N content of these species is similar, while the C, P, and Si contents of S. costatum from eutrophic Changjiang (Yangtze River) estuary are higher than those from Jiaozhou Bay (JZB), particularly the content of Si. The C, N, P, and Si contents of cultured phytoplankton in JZB increase with size fraction augmentation, and the percentages of C, N, and P follow the same trend, while the percentage of Si remain constant. Moreover, S. costatum from small-sized fraction assimilated Si more easily than C. curvisetus and T. nordenskirldii, which is explained by the dominance of S. costatum under the conditions of low SiO3-Si concentration in JZB. The C, N, P, and Si contents of cultured S. costatum collected during summer and winter are higher, which is consistent with the phytoplankton blooming seasons in JZB. The SiO3-Si concentration of seawater during spring restrain the growth of phytoplankton, supported by the fact that the N, P, and Si contents and their ratios in cells of cultured S. costatum are low in spring season.展开更多

文摘This paper presents a new record of Lasioseius Berlese in China, Lasioseius japonicas Ehara, with descriptions of the female. Specimens of L. japonicus were collected from the laboratory culture of Athetis lepigone Moschler (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Shandong Agricultural University and deposited in the Laboratory of Systematic and Applied Acarology, Shandong Agricultural University (SDAU). L. japonicus has shown promise of being a biological control agent of Bradysia odoriphaga in laborat ory observations. A key to the females of Lasioseius species from China is provided.

文摘AIM: To investigate the relationship between donor liver cold preservation, lung surfactant (LS) changes and acute lung injury (ALI) after liver transplantation. METHODS: Liver transplantation models were estab- lished using male Wistar rats. Donor livers were pre- served in University of Wisconsin solution at 4 ℃ for different lengths of time. The effect of ammonium pyr- rolidinedithiocarbamate (PDTC) on ALI was also detect- ed. All samples were harvested after 3 h reperfusion.The severity of AU was evaluated by lung weight/body weight ratio, lung histopathological score, serum nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin (ET)-I levels, lung tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-1β levels. Lung surfactants (LSs) were determined by micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography. RESULTS: With extended donor liver cold preservation time (CPT), lung histopathological scores, serum ET-i levels, lung weight/body weight ratio and the level of TNF-α and IL-1β in lung were increased significantly in the 180-min group compared with the sham group (3.16± 0.28 vs 1.12 ± 0.21, P 〈 0.001; 343.59±53.97 vs 141.53± 48.48, P 〈 0.001; 0.00687 ±0.00037 vs 0.00557 ±0.00056, P 〈 0.001; 17.5 ± 3.0 vs 1,3 ± 0.3, P 〈 0.001; 10.8± 2.3 vs 1.8 ± 0.4, P 〈 0.001), but serum NO levels decreased remarkably (74.67 ± 10.01 vs 24.97 ± 3.18, P 〈 0.001). The expression of lung phos- phatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylinositol (PI) and phosphatidylserine (PS) increased when CPT was 〈 120 rain, and decreased when CPT was 〉 180 min (PC: 1318.89 ± 54.79 vs 1011.18± 59.99, P 〈 0.001; PE: 1504.45± 119.96 vs 1340.80±76.39, P = 0.0019; PI: 201.23 ± 34.82 vs 185.88 ± 17.04, P = 0.2265; PS: 300.43±32.95 vs 286.55± 55.55, P = 0.5054). All these ALI-associated indexes could be partially reversed by PDTC treatment.

文摘The phylogenetic relationships of four ciliate genera (Urostyla, Euplotes, Stylonychia and Pseudokeronopsis), which also are the important environment inspection species, were analyzed by the comparison of small subunit ribosomal RNA gene sequences. Euplotes appeared as an early branching group whose divergence from the hypotrichous line at a deep level was strongly supported by parsimony and matrix analyses. The analyses also supported the hypothesis that there were closely relationship between species in Urostyla and Holosticha. The sibling species Stylonychia mytilus and S. lemnae could be separated by the evolutionary analyses. Furthermore, Pseudokeronopsis rubra had relatively more closely relationship with the species in Holostichidae than that in Urostylidae based on the evolutionary distance value.
文摘Micromorphology of glandular hairs on the leaves of Salvia officinalis L. and Salvia triloba L. was investigated by light microscopy. We noticed similiarity and variation between the two species regarding morphology of glandular trichomes. Two main types of glandular trichomes were identified on both species: peltate and capitate. Peltate trichomes consisted of a basal cell, one stalk cell and a large multisecretory head in S. officinalis L. In S. triloba L. peltate trichomes posses a basal cell, a short unicellular stalk, and a large secretory head with 8 secretory cells. In Salvia officinalis L., four types of capitate trichomes have been distinguished. Five types of capitate trichomes have been found in Salvia triloba L. The fifth type of capitate trichome, called digitiform trichome was found in S. triloba L. This determined interspecific diversity between the two Salvia species.

文摘The ratio of nitrogen/phosphorus (N/P) is known to affect cell proliferation of some marine micro algae. We evaluated the effect of N/P ratios on the proliferation and succession of phytoplankton using five marine micro algae species. We used two sources of nitrogen, NH4Cl (N1) and urea (N2), and a single source of phosphorous, NaH2PO4(P). The optimal N/P ratio that differed among the five species was affected by the source of nitrogen, being as follows (N1/P, N2/P in order): Thalassiosira sp. (30/1, 20/1), Heterosigma akashiwo (30/1, 30/1), Chroornonas salina (20/1, 30/1), Chaetoceros gracilis (40/1, 60/1), and A lexandrium sp. (10/1, 30/1). Thus, the source of nitrogen must be considered when analyzing the N/P ratio. Our results provide insight for predicting phytoplankton succession in coastal waters and may be used to forecast the potential risk of harmful algal blooms.

文摘We cultured different-sized fractions of dominant phytoplankton species, Skeletonema costatum, Chaetoceros curvisetus, and Thalassiosira nordenskioldii, collected in different sea areas in various seasons, and measured and compared their C, N, P, Si contents. The N content of these species is similar, while the C, P, and Si contents of S. costatum from eutrophic Changjiang (Yangtze River) estuary are higher than those from Jiaozhou Bay (JZB), particularly the content of Si. The C, N, P, and Si contents of cultured phytoplankton in JZB increase with size fraction augmentation, and the percentages of C, N, and P follow the same trend, while the percentage of Si remain constant. Moreover, S. costatum from small-sized fraction assimilated Si more easily than C. curvisetus and T. nordenskirldii, which is explained by the dominance of S. costatum under the conditions of low SiO3-Si concentration in JZB. The C, N, P, and Si contents of cultured S. costatum collected during summer and winter are higher, which is consistent with the phytoplankton blooming seasons in JZB. The SiO3-Si concentration of seawater during spring restrain the growth of phytoplankton, supported by the fact that the N, P, and Si contents and their ratios in cells of cultured S. costatum are low in spring season.
