The system adopts Web network architecture design, mainly it is divided into MUC main control module, database module, data management module and man-machine interaction module, Network management and online scheduling of English teaching resources are obtained based on C/S framework, data exchange of English teaching resources is realized on client side and server side, the control component of the English teaching resource distribution database uses MBM29LV400BC as the logic decoding controller. The intelligent algorithm is used to analyze the big data to realize the scheduling and access control of the English teaching management system resources. The test results show that the design of the English teaching management system has good resource scheduling and database construction ability, and the overall intelligence of the system is better.展开更多

We have developed the TNU-SuperSID teaching module which has three main parts: antenna, preamplifier and data logger. This module can detect the variation of Very Low Frequency (VLF, 3 - 30 kHz) signals during sunrise and sunset transition, and sudden ionospheric disturbance due to solar flares. In other word, the behavior of the Earth's lower ionosphere corresponding the solar activities is understood by using VLF technique. Our project helps undergraduate students who are learning the astrophysics and space physics to enhance their knowledge in space science and their technical skills with real experiments. Through the participant in this project, students can also be gained their skills such as communication, working in team, processing data, etc.展开更多

For solving this problem it is important to make consu...Expediency of this work is conditioned by the inconsistency between the market requirement of the specialists and the planning process of high educational system. For solving this problem it is important to make consulting or expect system for flexible planning of teaching modules of every specialty. We make an attempt to consider this problem in two aspects: the prediction of market demand for planning taking into consideration of studies duration and scheduling of educational process. The prediction task consists in data acquisition of market requirement for each profession in discrete time interval to predict dynamic evolution of every specialty. The solution of the prediction task will be using to determination of prognostic quantity of students for each specialty. As regards the second aspect, it consists in finding a schedule of the teaching modules, i.e. the distribution of subjects in the semesters, keeping the total limits of credits, to update and adapt syllabus. In this paper, we present a genetic algorithm as a solution method for the modular scheduling problem. Genetic algorithms (GAs) allow a more general approach to the scheduling problem, which is rated using a fitness function. GA can be successfully applied to find optimized sequential schedules.展开更多
In the paper, the authors present their experience and results related to the design and management of the on-line course "Development of e-learning resources based on the EUCIP (The European Certification of Inform...In the paper, the authors present their experience and results related to the design and management of the on-line course "Development of e-learning resources based on the EUCIP (The European Certification of Informatics Professionals) certification scheme", which was organized under the auspices of the international Leonardo da Vinci project Sloop2desc (Sharing learning objects in an open perspective for development of European skills and competences). The course was primarily aimed at teachers of informatics. Out of 64 participants that applied for the course, slightly less than 50% managed to reach the last course module. In line with other research, the authors' experience showed that in order to minimize participants' drop-out rate, a sustained communication flow between tutors and participants was necessary and specific assignments had to be provided by the tutors, along with guidance. The authors expect the participants who successfully finished the on-line course to become a some kind of ambassadors for the introduction of the EUCIP scheme in Slovenia.展开更多

For the research the Information system of the Technology School "electronic Systems" (TUES) associated with the Technical University of Sofia is on focus. The modules for admission of students, specialty classification, and graduation of students, management of the student's work in computer classrooms and lecturers' data management have been analyzed, developed and implemented. The additionally developed modules concern mainly the management of educational process and do not affect the e-learning or the official part modules. That led to the idea that the functionality for managing educational process has to be organized in a separate module defined as module for administrative services of educational process. Such restructuring of the system will bring flexibility in further growth of the system--for example students' admission or selection for different purposes.展开更多

In our Autonomous Learning Modules (ALMS) at Helsin...This article explores the potential of the narrative educational processes of autobiographical writing and interactive storytelling for foreign language education. In our Autonomous Learning Modules (ALMS) at Helsinki University Language Centre, students write various autobiographical texts as part of their language portfolios. The texts are discussed in the face-to-face counseling meetings. Finnish students' learner identities are influenced by the competitive role of English in Finland: mastering English is a must, and not mastering English can single them out as failures. This is especially true of self-identified "different" learners whose previous language learning experiences and classroom situations have caused them anxiety. In ALMS, counselors engage them in sharing stories about past learning experiences as a way of supporting them in planning their personal study programs. Storytelling also helps them to explore their "wounded" learner identities by creating safe spaces for reflexive self- study. The practice and research of such storytelling are explored in the article.展开更多
