This hierarchical model summarizes the action contents with different spatio-t...To improve the recognition performance of video human actions,an approach that models the video actions in a hierarchical way is proposed. This hierarchical model summarizes the action contents with different spatio-temporal domains according to the properties of human body movement.First,the temporal gradient combined with the constraint of coherent motion pattern is utilized to extract stable and dense motion features that are viewed as point features,then the mean-shift clustering algorithm with the adaptive scale kernel is used to label these features.After pooling the features with the same label to generate part-based representation,the visual word responses within one large scale volume are collected as video object representation.On the benchmark KTH(Kungliga Tekniska H?gskolan)and UCF (University of Central Florida)-sports action datasets,the experimental results show that the proposed method enhances the representative and discriminative power of action features, and improves recognition rates.Compared with other related literature,the proposed method obtains superior performance.展开更多
With the development of modern industry, sheet-metal parts in mass production have been widely applied in mechanical, communication, electronics, and light industries in recent decades; but the advances in sheet-metal...With the development of modern industry, sheet-metal parts in mass production have been widely applied in mechanical, communication, electronics, and light industries in recent decades; but the advances in sheet-metal part design and manufacturing remain too slow compared with the increasing importance of sheet-metal parts in modern industry. This paper proposes a method for automatically extracting features from an arbitrary solid model of sheet-metal parts; whose characteristics are used for classification and graph-based representation of the sheet-metal features to extract the features embodied in a sheet-metal part. The extracting feature process can be divided for valid checking of the model geometry, feature matching, and feature relationship. Since the extracted features include abundant geometry and engineering information, they will be effective for downstream application such as feature rebuilding and stamping process planning.展开更多

The color images of wear debris were used as initial data. Each particle was characterized by a set of numerical parameters combined by its shape, color and surface texture features through a computer vision system. Those features were used as input vector of artificial neural network for wear debris identification. A radius basis function (RBF) network based model suitable for wear debris recognition was established, and its algorithm was presented in detail. Compared with traditional recognition methods, the RBF network model is faster in convergence, and higher in accuracy.展开更多
Complementing our previous publications, this paper presents the information schema constructs (ISCs) that underpin the programming of specific system manifestation feature (SMF) orientated information management ...Complementing our previous publications, this paper presents the information schema constructs (ISCs) that underpin the programming of specific system manifestation feature (SMF) orientated information management and composing system models. First, we briefly present (1) the general process of pre-embodiment design with SMFs, (2) the procedures of creating genotypes and phenotypes of SMFs, (3) the specific procedure of instantiation of phenotypes of SMFs, and (4) the procedure of system model management and processing. Then, the chunks of information needed for instantiation of phenotypes of SMFs are discussed, and the ISCs designed for instantiation presented. Afterwards, the information management aspects of system modeling are addressed. Methodologically, system modeling involves (1) placement of phenotypes of SMF in the modeling space, (2) combining them towards the desired architecture and operation, (3) assigning values to the parameters and checking the satisfac- tion of constraints, and (4) storing the system model in the SMFs-based warehouse database. The final objective of the reported research is to develop an SMFs-based toolbox to support modeling of cyber-physical systems (CPSs).展开更多
