In this contribution,we report the cooperative structure-directing effect of choline hydroxide and aluminosilicate*BEA zeolite in the synthesis of aluminogermanosilicate IWR zeolites for the first time.*BEA zeolites,at variance with any other aluminosilicate zeolites,can serve as heterogeneous seeds for the growth of IWR zeolites and play a cooperative structure-directing role.The crystallization process was investigated using multiple techniques to characterize a series of solid products obtained with various crystallization times.The experiments clearly showed the dissolution of the*BEA zeolite and of an intermediate CDO-type structure.A plausible mechanism for the novel cooperative synthesis has been proposed.The crystallization of the IWR zeolite involves several steps,among which the crucial one is believed to be the reassembly of the building units produced from the decomposition of*BEA zeolite seeds,induced by choline molecules.Having similar structure and common building units(four-,five-,and six-membered rings)with the IWR zeolite,the*BEA zeolite is capable of promoting the reassembly of the building units and can thus play a cooperative structure-directing role.By highlighting the cooperative structure-directing effect of organic molecules and heterogeneous seeds,this study opens up new perspectives for the synthesis of target zeolites that are difficult to prepare by traditional methods.This new synthetic route is also expected to shed light on the discovery of novel zeolites. 展开更多

Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) has recently emerged as an effective tool for the investigation of the hydraulic parameters and efficiency of tray towers.The computation domain was established for two types of oriented valves within a tray and meshed into two parts with different grid types and sizes.The volume fraction correlation concerning inter-phase momentum transfer source was fitted based on experimental data,and built in UDF for simulation.The flow pattern of oriented valve tray under different operating conditions was simulated under Eulerian-Eulerian framework with realizable k-ε model.The predicted liquid height from CFD simulation was in good agreement with the results of pressure drop and volume fraction correlations.Meanwhile,the velocity distribution and volume fraction of the two phases were demonstrated and analyzed,which are useful in design and analysis of the column trays. 展开更多

Objective: To provide a new method in the fixation of sacral fracture by means of three-dimensional reconstruction and reverse engineering technique. Methods: Pelvis image data were obtained from threedimensional CT scan in patients with sacral fracture. The data were transferred into a computer workstation. The threedimensional models of pelvis were reconstructed using Amira 3.1 software and saved in STL format. Then the threedimensional fracture models were imported into Imageware 9.0 software. Different situations of reduction (total reduction, half reduction and non-reduction) were simulated using Imageware 9.0 software. The best direction and location of extract iliosacral lag screws were defined using reverse engineering according to these three situations and navigation templates were designed according to the anatomic features of the postero-iliac part and the channel. The exact navigational template was made by rapid prototyping. Drill guides were sterilized and used intraoperatively to assist in surgical navigation and the placement of iliosacral lag screws. Results: Accurate screw placement was confirmed with postoperative X-ray and CT scanning. The navigation template was found to be highly accurate. Conclusion: The navigation template may be a useful method in minimal-invasive fixation of sacroiliac joint fracture. 展开更多

Facile construction of quasi 1D trimanganese tetraoxide nanostructures via soft templating

Self-assembly of nanocrystals can not only lead to a better understanding of inter-particle acting force, but also enable rational building of complex and functional materials for future nanodevices. Here by utilizing polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as the as capping and structure directing agents, hierarchical Mn304 architectures involving coil-like nanorings, hexagonal nanoframes, and nanodisks are conveniently synthesized by a one-pot solution method. The sophisticated assemblies are proven to be me- diated by the PVP soft templates formed at varied concentrations. The driving forces of self-assembled complex nanostructures and the unique role of PVP concentration are discussed. Magnetic properties of the as assembled Mn3O4 rings are also studied by a SQUID system, which shows the typical side effect of Curie temperature. 展开更多
