The results...The lepidolite located in Yichun, Jiangxi Province, China, was adopted to investigate the recovery of alkali metals and leaching kinetics of lithium with sulphuric acid solution under atmospheric pressure. The results show that the recoveries of alkali metals were achieved under the leaching conditions: mass ratio of lepidolite with particle size less than 180 μm to sulphuric acid 1.2, leaching temperature 411 K, liquid-solid ratio 2.5∶1, and leaching time 10 h. Under the selected conditions for leaching experiment, the leaching rates of lithium, potassium, rubidium and caesium are 94.18%, 93.70%, 91.81% and 89.22%, respectively. The X-ray diffraction analysis for leaching residue indicates that no insoluble product forms during leaching. The chemical compositions of leaching residue reveal that trace iron, manganese and calcium disappear after acid leaching. The kinetics of leaching process for lithium follows shrinking core model of mixed control and the apparent activation energy is 17.21 kJ/mol. The reaction orders with respect to sulphuric acid concentration and liquid-solid ratio are determined to be 2.85 and 1.66, respectively. A semi-empirical rate equation was obtained to describe the leaching process. The kinetic analysis shows that the leaching process is controlled by diffusion through the insoluble layer of the associated minerals.展开更多

Data set from 250 primary school pupils from the Effutu Municipality were analysed using partial correlation and multiple regression analytical techniques. Among the study findings, that were when the effects of Parental Status were controlled for, Parental Support, Teacher Support, and Academic Motivation still related significantly to Academic Performance. Among the conclusions of the findings are that, whether the child was from a single or both parent home was not important with regard to his or her academic performance but rather it was the quality of support that the child gets from whoever is doing the parenting, teacher support and the child's own academic motivation that were important to determine the child's Academic Performance. The study also found that Parental Support was the best predictor of the pupils' Academic Performance out of the three factors includingTeacher Support and Academic Motivation.展开更多

A total of 630 Nile tilapia fingerlings with an average body weight of 26.4 ± 0.2 g were divided in the seven experimental net-pen treatments (three replicates each). The experiment was conducted for 119 days. Seven isonitrogenous (26.50%) digestible protein and isocaloric (13.40 MJ kgl) digestible energy experimental diets were formulated. The control diet had no SC and EDE added. Diets 2-3 each contained SC at levels of 2 and 4 g 100 g diet-t, respectively, while diets 4-5 each contained EDE at levels of (0.64, 1.28, 0.16) and (1.28, 2.56, 0.32) g 100 gdiefI of pepsin, papain and a-amylase, respectively. Diet 6 contained mixture of SC and EDE at levels of 1 g yeast and 0.32, 0.64, 0.08 g of pepsin, papain and a-amylase, respectively 100 gdiet1 and diet D7 contained 2 g yeast and 0.64, 1.28, 0.16 g of pepsin, papain and a-amylase, respectively 100 g dietl. Growth performance and feed utilization efficiency of Nile tilapia were significantly (P 〈 0.05) higher in all treatments receiving SC and/or EDE supplemented-diets than the control diet which suggests that the addition of SC and EDE enhanced the growth performance. Red blood cells counts, hematocrit and hemoglobin were significantly (P 〈 0.05) highest in all treatments receiving mixture of SC and EDE supplemented-diets (D6 + D7). The same trend was observed for total plasma protein and total plasma globulin levels. Leaching kinetics of Li in a mixture of sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid, which is a typical lixivant for the fluorine-based chemical method, was carried out under crucial factors such as different HF/ore ratios(1:1-3:1 g/mL) and leaching temperatures(50-85℃). The kinetics data fit well with the developed shrinking-core model, indicating that the leaching rate of Li was controlled by the chemical reaction and inner diffusion at the beginning of leaching(0-30 min) as a calculated apparent activation energy(Ea) of 20.62 kJ/mol. The inner diffusion became the rate-limiting step as the leaching continues(60-180 min). Moreover, effects of HF/ore ratio and leaching temperature on selective leaching behavior of Li, Al and Si were discussed. 90% of fluorine mainly existed as HF/F-in leaching solution, which can provide theoretical guidance for further removal or recovery of F.展开更多

A comparative study of the anatomy indicates a difference between the density of simple and glandular trichomes in leaf surface, deposit of wax, the thickness of leaf, the length of epidermal cells, palisade parenchyma cells, crystals in mesophyll, and the manner of compatibility to salinity. The results obtained in this research demonstrate that compatibility of Ohady cultivar is higher than Kaleh Ghochi and the degree of mechanical wounding depends on their development stages. In addition to results of previous studies which considered crop load as the main cause of fruit deformity. The present study indicates that, in spite of some reduction in total production of a tree, salinity decreases fruit deformity and to a high extent prevents the production of deformed fruit. Indeed, a remarkable reduction in production of deformed fruit will be yielded by selecting pistachio varieties which are resistant to salinity. Moreover, salinity increases the resistance of nuts to mechanical wounding. The results of this study suggest that in EC = 7.6, 12.6 deformity of nut is not related to crop load.展开更多

The development of C. sowerbyi xinyangensis was studied from zygote to medusa by means of light microscopy and digital camera. The zygotes of C. sowerbyi xinyangensis are globular and smooth (90- 105 μm diameter) and have an equal, total cleavage to the two-cell stage 15 min after fertilization. The embryos enter the four-cell stage after another 15 min and become multicellular embryos after 3h 15min. At this stage the embryos have a diameter similar to fertilized eggs but have uneven surfaces that are distinct from the smooth surfaces of the uncleaved zygotes. Solid gastrulae are formed 7 h after fertilization. These are spherical planulae with short surface cilia that begin to swim in slow clockwise circles. After 12 h, they lose their cilia, cease swimming and become elongated planulae with one end larger than the other. Rod-like planulae, similar in thickness at both ends, are formed after an additional 7 h. After 4 days, the planulae develop into tiny polyps having two germ layers and a gastrovascular cavity. The polyp mouth is 50 - 62 μm in diameter, lacking tentacles but having nematocysts around the mouth. Planulae become mature polyps after 10 days (15 days after fertilization). Medusa buds (45 - 88 μm diameter) are formed by polyp budding, which soon become free-living medusae with 8 tentacles (380 - 620 μm diameters) . Sometimes, the movement of frustules, which are formed by the polyps and similar to planulae in morphology can also be observed [ Current Zoology 55 (3) : 227 - 234, 2009].展开更多

The pearl oyster Pinctada martensii was used in this study as the raw material to illustrate the kinetic properties of protease 894. After investigating the intrinsic relationship between the degree of hydrolysis and several factors, including initial reaction pH, temperature, substrate concentration, enzyme concentration, and hydrolysis time, the kinetics model was established. This study showed that the optimal conditions for the enzymatic hydrolysis were an initial reaction pH of 5.0, temperature of 30°C, substrate concentration of 10% (w/v), enzyme concentration of 2 500 U/g, and hydrolysis time of 160 min. The kinetic characteristics of the protease for the hydrolysis of P. martensii were obtained. The inactivation constant was found to be 15.16/min, and the average relative error between the derived kinetics model and the actual measurement was only 3.04%, which indicated a high degree of fitness. Therefore, this study provides a basis for the investigation of the concrete kinetic characteristics of the new protease, which has potential applications in the food industry.展开更多

Thereafter, a human liver cDNA library was screened by the bait vector. The positive clones were selected out by nutrient-deficient culture and back-hybridizing. The sequences from the candidate positive clones were blasted and analyzed by bioinformatics methods. Results: The constructed bait vector encoding FOXP3 was found no self-activation and toxicity in yeast AH109. Three proteins which interacted with FOXP3, including tumor protein D52, splicing factor 3b subunit 1 and hypothetical protein, were identified. Conclusion: Three new candidate proteins interacting with FOXP3 are selected out by this yeast two-hybrid system and library, which may facilitate the further study of FOXP3 in Treg.展开更多

Moreover, previous studies mainly focus on comparing the effectiveness of native and non-native language teachers by exploring learners' and teachers' perceptions of native and non-native language teachers. Since recruitment criteria are theoretically unjustified and the results of previous studies are subjective and inconclusive, this study aims at making a case in the opposite direction. That is, the researchers argue that there should be: (1) a shift away from recruiting language teachers on the basis of their speaking fluency and native language background towards hiring language teachers on the basis of their professional performance in the language classroom; (2) a shift away from exploring learners' and teachers' perceptions of native and non-native teachers towards studying the effect of teachers' native language on learners' proficiency, accuracy, fluency, and achievement. To pave the way for these shifts, this study first reviews the theoretical perspectives and empirical findings concerning effective language teachers and then draws conclusions and implications which help interested stakeholders, i.e., supervisors, make informed decisions when they recruit language teachers.展开更多

A way of predicting and knowing the growth of the animals is using mathematical models. This work presented the results of the estimate of the growth according to the Gompertz-Laird model of males of the atttochthonous breed Serrana Soriana and Charolais. The weight to the birth of the breed calfs Charolais (45.14 kg), was superior to those of Serrana Soriana (40.13 kg), and presented a greater relative growth (9.9%) before the inflection point of the growth curve: furthermore it ~as also superior to the maximum decline relative after this point (6%), Serrana Soriana reached 7 days after the maximum growth point but with a smaller weight (315.05 kg vs 384.76 kg). It was calculated a weight to the maturity of 1 ,(176.91) kg for Charolais and 856.40 kg for Serrana Soriana.展开更多

In this perspective, the author wonders about the subjectivity of the students' apprenticeship and about the way they can change, according to the methodological variants, as well as the context. So, he intents to explore the C.P.M.P.S (Creative and Participative Method of Problem Solution) in the development of Portuguese written language competence, through the art subject. In this paper, we can see the increase of different variables from the perspective of students and teachers which validates in some manner of the teaching methodology.展开更多

However, migration does not come without costs. The potential impacts of parental migration on the left-behind children have aroused wide concerns. Based on a two-wave panel dataset of nearly 10 thousand students in 166 schools from 13 counties in 5 provinces between 2014 and 2015, differences-in-differences (DID) and propensity score matching plus DID (PSMDID) approaches were used to examine the changes in academic performances before and after the parental out-migration. The results indicated that the mother only migration has a significant negative impact on the a- cademic performances of left-behind children, and it was especially true when the mother only migration lasted more than a semester. For left-behind children whose parents were out or only the father was out, their academic performances were not affected.展开更多

For it is so important that a lot of scholars have made and are making a series of studies to their functions. On the basis of corpus-based study, this paper firstly makes a comparison to the usage of adverbial connectors in their writings of the native students and non-native students and then exposes a distinctive gap between these two types of writings in usage of adverbial connectors. In order to help Chinese second-language learners acquire English as well as English native speakers do, this study deeply digs this gap and in further provides several pedagogical suggestions for English teachers and second-language learners.展开更多

The results of this study suggest that in EC = 7.6, 12.6 deformity of nut is not related to crop load.
文摘While numerous studies in English as a second/foreign language (EFL) have examined vocabulary learning and teaching in the perspective of theories and practical tips, there is a paucity of research on the impact of high-frequency words learning on preparing new EFL residents for the life in English-speaking countries. In order to fill this gap, this study draws on the experience of two EFL learners in New Zealand (NZ), so as to explore the effectiveness of a 16-week daily-English-focused vocabulary learning program, which might generate useful implications about the effective adaption of new EFL residents to their target countries.

文摘To explore the life cycle of Craspedacusta, the authors collected male and female specimens of the Craspedacusta sowerbyi xinyangensis in a small fire-fighting pond in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province in July, 2005 and 2006. Sometimes, the movement of frustules, which are formed by the polyps and similar to planulae in morphology can also be observed [ Current Zoology 55 (3) : 227 - 234, 2009].

文摘A new enzyme (alkaline protease 894) obtained from the marine extremophile Flavobacterium yellowsea (YS-80-122) has exhibited strong substrate-binding and catalytic activity, even at low temperature, but the characteristics of the hydrolysis with this enzyme are still unclear. Therefore, this study provides a basis for the investigation of the concrete kinetic characteristics of the new protease, which has potential applications in the food industry.

文摘Objective: To screen the proteins interacting with the Treg specification factor forkhead box protein P3 (FOXP3) by yeast two-hybrid system, Methods: Human FOXP3 gene was amplified by nest RT-PCR from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and inserted into plasmid pGBKT7 to construct the bait vector, then the self-activation and toxicity of the bait vector in host yeast strain AH109 were observed. Conclusion: Three new candidate proteins interacting with FOXP3 are selected out by this yeast two-hybrid system and library, which may facilitate the further study of FOXP3 in Treg.
文摘In some contexts such as private language schools of Iran language teachers are recruited mainly on the basis of their speaking fluency and in other EFL contexts they are recruited simply because they are native speakers. To pave the way for these shifts, this study first reviews the theoretical perspectives and empirical findings concerning effective language teachers and then draws conclusions and implications which help interested stakeholders, i.e., supervisors, make informed decisions when they recruit language teachers.
文摘The alternative productions, increasingly importance, are based on the rational utilization of the resources, on agreement with the environment and the use of autochthonous breeds that many cases are found in danger of disappearance, due to the tact that their suckling is not economically profitable. It was calculated a weight to the maturity of 1 ,(176.91) kg for Charolais and 856.40 kg for Serrana Soriana.
文摘The presented paper puts in discussion the dilemma of the linear supports of formal teaching and learning processes of regular school, coexisting with an inter and transdisciplinarity of the process mentioned above. In this paper, we can see the increase of different variables from the perspective of students and teachers which validates in some manner of the teaching methodology.
文摘Since the 1990s, the large-scale migrant labor force from rural to urban areas has made great contributions to the growth in China. For left-behind children whose parents were out or only the father was out, their academic performances were not affected.
文摘In writing and speaking, adverbial connectors always play a part to connect different parts together at both semantic and syntactic aspects. In order to help Chinese second-language learners acquire English as well as English native speakers do, this study deeply digs this gap and in further provides several pedagogical suggestions for English teachers and second-language learners.
