细小病毒病是生猪养殖领域威胁较为严重的一类繁殖障碍性疾病,通常情况下该种疾病主要对初产母猪造成严重危害,初产母猪受到细小病毒感染之后,大多不会表现出明显的临床症状,能够产下成活的仔猪,但是仔猪表现为生长发育不良,成活率下降... 细小病毒病是生猪养殖领域威胁较为严重的一类繁殖障碍性疾病,通常情况下该种疾病主要对初产母猪造成严重危害,初产母猪受到细小病毒感染之后,大多不会表现出明显的临床症状,能够产下成活的仔猪,但是仔猪表现为生长发育不良,成活率下降。临床上诸多细小病毒病以繁殖母猪早期阶段出现流产,产下死胎僵、尸胎,产下生长发育不良的胎儿为主要特征。对于发生过猪细小病毒病的养殖场,一旦有新的后备母猪补充到繁殖母猪群体当中,就会周期性的感染该种疾病,导致初次妊娠的母猪流产率显著升高,增加母猪的繁殖障碍率以及仔猪的死亡率。通过调查能够发现猪细小病毒病是除了繁殖与呼吸道综合症、伪狂犬病以外,危害基层生猪养殖产业最为常见的发展性疾病。本文结合实际工作经验,就猪细小病毒病的流行特点、临床症状、病理变化进行了进一步的分析,然后论述了母猪细小病毒病与其他疾病的有效鉴别,并结合实际病例探讨了猪细小病毒病的预防策略,希望通过研究对广大同行有所帮助。 展开更多

Porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC) is a serious health problem that mainly affects growing and finishing pigs. PRDC is caused by a combination of viral and bacterial agents, such as porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), swine influenza virus (SIV), Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (Myh), Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (APP), Pasteurella multocida and Porcine circovirus 2 (PCV2). To characterize the specific role of swine influenza virus in PRDC presentation in Colombia, 11 farms from three major production regions in Colombia were examined in this study. Nasal swabs, bronchial lavage and lung tissue samples were obtained from animals displaying symptoms compatible with SIV. Isolation of SIV was performed in 9-day embryonated chicken eggs or Madin-Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cells. Positive isolates, identified via the hemagglutination inhibition test, were further analyzed using PCR. Overall, 7 of the 11 farms were positive for SIV. Notably, sequencing of the gene encoding the hemagglutinin (HA) protein led to grouping of strains into circulating viruses identified during the human outbreak of 2009, classified as pandemic H1N1-2009. Serum samples from 198 gilts and multiparous sows between 2008 and 2009 were obtained to determine antibody presence of APP, Myh, PCV2 and PRRSV in both SIV-H1Nlp-negative and -positive farms, but higher levels were recorded for SIV- HI Nlp-positive farms. Odds ratio (OR) and P values revealed statistically significant differences (p〈0.05) in PRDC presentation in gilts and multiparous sows of farms positive for SIV-HINlp. [Objective] The aim was to explore the effect of eliminated the breeding pigs with unqualified CSFV antibody on sow's reproductive performance and pig's growth performance so as to provide a scientific basis for the eliminating of the breeding pigs with unqualified CSFV antibody in large-scale pig farms.[Method] Serum samples from three scale pig farms were collected and tested with HerdChek CSFV-ELISA kit,then provided a certain scientific basis for scale pig farm to eliminate the unqualified(antibody blocking rate<50%)breeders after booster immunization.[Result ] After eliminating the breeding pigs with unqualified CSFV antibody,the average litter number of piglet in three pig farms(A,B,C)were increased by 0.29(P<0.05),0.40(P<0.01),0.39(P<0.01)respectively;the average number of survival piglets were increased by 0.54(P<0.01),0.35(P<0.01),0.62(P<0.01)respectively;the average litter number of weaned piglets were increased by 0.65(P<0.01),0.71(P<0.01),0.81(P<0.01)respectively.The difference in weight gain of piglet at 30-60 d of age was extremely significant(P<0.01),but inconspicuousness for the swine pregnancy rate,the survival rate of weaned piglet and piglet at 30-60 d of age.[Conclusion] The eliminating the breeding pigs with unqualified CSFV antibody can significantly improve the performance of breeder and piglets. 展开更多

This experiment was aimed to investigate some changes of ovarian structure in order to confirm the onset of puberty in Thai indigenous gilts. Fifty female animals collected from the North-Eastern area of Thailand were slaughtered in the different age groups as 0, 1, 2, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5 and 6 months of age, respectively (each group = 5 pigs), for monitoring corpus luteum (CL) occurrence on ovarian surface and some changes of reproductive structure. CL was clearly found for the first time in the 4.5 months age group (P 〈 0.05) which was defined as the first ovulation; nevertheless, group of follicles with 〉 2.0 mm in diameter appeared for the first time in the 3.5 month age group (P 〈 0.05). For other conformations, size of uterine horns, oviducts or ovaries, including weight of ovaries or whole reproductive tracts, were significantly developed (P 〈 0.05) that was initially taken place in the 3.5 months age group onwards. Thus, it was summarized that the onset of puberty in Thai indigenous gilts, affirmed by CL appearance at the first time, should be happened between 4.0 and 4.5 months of age; however, the development of reproductive structure and follicles to prepare in approaching puberty should be started before 3.5 months of age. 展开更多

Accompanying the beneficial improvement in litter size from genetic selection for high-prolificacy sows, within-litter variation in birth weight has increased with detrimental effects on post-natal growth and survival due to an increase in the proportion of piglets with low birth-weight. Causes of within-litter variation in birth weight include breed characteristics that affect uterine space, ovulation rate, degree of maturation of oocytes, duration of time required for ovulation, interval between ovulation and fertilization, uterine capacity for implantation and placentation, size and efficiency of placental transport of nutrients, communication between conceptus/fetus and maternal systems, as well as nutritional status and environmental influences during gestation. Because these factors contribute to within-litter variation in birth weight, nutritional status of the sow to improve fetal-placental development must focus on the following three important stages in the reproductive cycle: pre-mating or weaning to estrus, early gestation and late gestation. The goal is to increase the homogeneity of development of oocytes and conceptuses, decrease variations in conceptus development during implantation and placentation, and improve birth weights of newborn piglets. Though some progress has been made in nutritional regulation of within-litter variation in the birth weight of piglets, additional studies, with a focus on and insights into molecular mechanisms of reproductive physiology from the aspects of maternal growth and offspring development, as well as their regulation by nutrients provided to the sow, are urgently needed. 展开更多
