Based on the empirical Gardner equation describing the relationship between density and compressional wave velocity, the converted wave reflection coefficient extrema attributes for AVO analysis are proposed and the relations between the extrema position and amplitude, average velocity ratio across the interface, and shear wave reflection coefficient are derived. The extrema position is a monotonically decreasing function of average velocity ratio, and the extrema amplitude is a function of average velocity ratio and shear wave reflection coefficient. For theoretical models, the average velocity ratio and shear wave reflection coefficient are inverted from the extrema position and amplitude obtained from fitting a power function to converted wave AVO curves. Shear wave reflection coefficient sections have clearer physical meaning than conventional converted wave stacked sections and establish the theoretical foundation for geological structural interpretation and event correlation. "The method of inverting average velocity ratio and shear wave reflection coefficient from the extrema position and amplitude obtained from fitting a power function is applied to real CCP gathers. This paper presents a fully-differential CMOS dynamic comparator for use in high-speed pipelined ADCs with low stage resolution. Because the architecture is based on the coupled current sources and differential input pairs, this comparator's threshold voltage can be adjusted to a desired level. Compared with traditional comparators, this one shows significant improvement in area,power,and speed. Fabricated in 0.35μm CMOS technology,it occupies only 30μm × 70μm. Simulation and measurement results indicate the comparator has a sampling frequency up to 1GHz with 2Vpp differential input signal range and only 181μW power consumption under a 3.3V supply. The speed/power ratio reaches up to 5524GS/J. 展开更多

The optimum pressure ratio distribution of a multistage reciprocating compressor is presented based on the assumption, i.e. the inter stage cooling is perfect and there are no pressure losses. The optimization of the two or three stage pressure ratio is analyzed in two cases of constant heat transfer rate for the inter cooler or constant inter stage inlet temperature, based on the minimum of the sum of theoretical compression power at each stage about a multi stage reciprocating compressor. Furthermore, with an example of two stage compressor the influence on the sum of the power of each stage is analyzed when practical pressure ratio deviates from the optimum value. It is obtained that under different cooling conditions the optimum pressure ratio distribution of the multi stage compression is various, and the change of the optimum pressure ratio within a small range has little influence on the sum of the power each stage. [Method] A digital image compression technology program based on the discrete Fourier transform was proposed, and simulation experiments were carried out to compress the image at different compression ratios. [Result] When com- pression ratios were less than 30, the compression ratio, image entropy, average codeword length, coding efficiency and redundancy which reflected the quality of the coding, and the parameter PSNR which estimated the fidelity of the compressed im- age were all achieved good results that human eye could barely percept the differ- ence between the original image and decompressed image; and when the compres- sion ratios were more than 30, there was a certain distortion in the decompressed image. And when the compression ratio was 91.516 3, although the image had some distortion, the PSNR was still achieved to 21.528 2, and human eye could accept the decompressed image intuitively within the acceptable error range. [Conclusion] The results show that the proposed image compression program is a viable, effective, and better image compression technology which can satisfy the requirements of the crop monitoring system on image storage, transforming and transporting. 展开更多

Gassmann's equations are commonly used for predicting seismic wave velocity in rock physics research.However the input matrix mineral bulk modulus parameters are not accurate,which greatly influences the prediction reliability.In this paper,combining the Russell fluid factor with the Gassman-Biot-Geertsma equation and introducing the dry-rock Poisson's ratio,we propose an effective matrix mineral bulk modulus extraction method.This method can adaptively invert the equivalent matrix mineral bulk modulus to apply the Gassmann equation to fluid substitution of complex carbonate reservoirs and increase the fluid prediction reliability.The verification of the actual material fluid substitution also shows that this method is reliable,efficient,and adaptable. 展开更多

The damage or loss of urban road manhole covers may cause great risk to residents' lives and property if they cannot be discovered in time. Most existing research recommendations for solving this problem are difficult to implement. This paper proposes an algorithm that combines the improved Hough transform and image comparison to identify the damage or loss of the manhole covers in complicated surface conditions by using existing urban road video images. Focusing on the pre-processed images, the edge contour tracking algorithm is applied to find all of the edges. Then with the improved Hough transformation, color recognition and image matching algorithm, the manhole cover area is found and the change rates of the manhole cover area are calculated. Based on the threshold of the change rates, it can be determined whether there is potential damage or loss in the manhole cover. Compared with the traditional Hough transform, the proposed method can effectively improve the processing speed and reduce invalid sampling and accumulation. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm has the functions of effective positioning and early warning in the conditions of complex background, different perspectives, and different videoing time and conditions, such as when the target is partially covered. 展开更多

[Objective] The aim was to present a proposal about a new image compression technology, in order to make the image be able to be stored in a smaller space and be transmitted with smaller bit rate on the premise of guaranteeing image quality in the rape crop monitoring system in Qinling Mountains. [Method] In the proposal, the color image was divided into brightness images with three fundamental colors, followed by sub-image division and DCT treatment. Then, coefficients of transform domain were quantized, and encoded and compressed as per Huffman coding. Finally, decompression was conducted through inverse process and decompressed images were matched. [Result] The simulation results show that when compression ratio of the color image of rape crops was 11.972 3∶1, human can not distinguish the differences between the decompressed images and the source images with naked eyes; when ratio was as high as 53.565 6∶1, PSNR was still above 30 dD,encoding efficiency achieved over 0.78 and redundancy was less than 0.22. [Conclusion] The results indicate that the proposed color image compression technology can achieve higher compression ratio on the premise of good image quality. In addition, image encoding quality and decompressed images achieved better results, which fully met requirement of image storage and transmission in monitoring system of rape crop in the Qinling Mountains. 展开更多

In the exploration,tracking and positioning of underwater targets,it is necessary to perform frequency domain analysis and correlation calculation on the underwater acoustic signals of the target radiation.In a strong noise environment,the target signal may be overwhelmed by noise,resulting in an inability to effectively identify the target.Aiming at this problem,this paper presents a method of signal-noise separation by combining Fourier denoising with wavelet transform to realize underwater acoustic signal extraction in a strong noise environment.The combination algorithm of Fourier coefficient threshold adjustment and wavelet threshold transform is designed,and performance of the algorithm is tested.Simulation results show that the combination algorithm can effectively extract underwater acoustic signals when signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)is-15 dB,which can improve the SNR to 8.2 dB. 展开更多

We consider the spectrum handoff delay of a Secondary User(SU)in cognitive radio networks.We propose a spectrum handoff scheme based on Recommended Channel Sensing Sequence(RCSS),which aims to optimise the spectrum handoff delay subject to the sensing reliability and link maintenance constraints.There are two cases that should be considered:1)the SU performs spectrum handoff successfully during the current frame,and 2)the SU successfully performs the spectrum handoff using several frames.We develop a dynamic programming algorithm for RCSS to identify the optimal sensing sequence for the first case,and an updating algorithm for RCSS to improve the handoff performance for the second case.The numerical results confirm that the proposed RCSS handoff scheme can achieve better handoff delay performance than others when the received signal-to-noise ratios of the Pus' signals on different channels are non-identical. 展开更多

Using seawater in concrete can be considered as one of the sustainable approaches in construction industry not only to save the freshwater resource but also to promote the use of abandoned seawater resource, especially in the construction at the uninhabited area close to the sea where the procurement of fresh water is difficult. In this study, durability against chloride attack of seawater mixed concrete with different replacement ratio of BFS (blast furnace slag) and FA (fly ash) is discussed and the life time until the occurrence of corrosion crack is evaluated. The results show that: (1) Chloride penetration rate of seawater mixed specimens with BFS and FA is lower than that of freshwater mixed OPC (ordinary Portland cement) specimens; (2) Oxygen permeability of seawater mixed specimens with BFS and FA is almost the same or lower than that of freshwater mixed OPC specimens; (3) Total life time (corrosion incubation period and propagation period) of seawater mixed specimens with BFS and FA is almost the same or only slightly shorter than that of freshwater mixed OPC specimens. From the results, it was confirmed that the usage of seawater in concrete mixing is feasible in concrete with the appropriate BFS and FA replacement ratio. 展开更多

Experimental investigations were carried out to determine the Al2O3/water and SiO2/water nanofluids flowing through a circular tube. convective heat transfer performance and pressure drop of Measurements show that the addition of small amounts of nano-sized Al2O3 particles to the base fluid increases heat transfer coefficients considerably, while the result for the silica nanofluids contradicts with the alumina nanofluids and this leads to some interesting results. In the case of alumina nanofluids, an average increase of 16% in convective heat transfer coefficient is observed with an average penalty of 28% in pressure drop. Moreover, flow resistance increases significantly compared to the base fluid even at very low concentrations of nanofluids. Finally, measured heat transfer coefficients are compared with predicted ones from the correlation of Shah under the same conditions. 展开更多

The onset times of acoustic signals with spikes,heavy bodies and unclear takeoffs are difficult to be picked accurately by the automatic method at present.To deal with this problem,an improved joint method based on the discrete wavelet transform(DWT),modified energy ratio(MER)and Akaike information criterion(AIC)pickers,has been proposed in this study.First,the DWT is used to decompose the signal into various components.Then,the joint application of MER and AIC pickers is carried out to pick the initial onset times of all selected components,where the minimum AIC position ahead of MER onset time is regarded as the initial onset time.Last,the average for initial onset times of all selected components is calculated as the final onset time of this signal.This improved joint method is tested and validated by the acoustic signals with different signal to noise ratios(SNRs)and waveforms.The results show that the improved joint method is not affected by the variations of SNR,and the onset times picked by this method are always accurate in different SNRs.Moreover,the onset times of all acoustic signals with spikes,heavy bodies and unclear takeoffs can be accurately picked by the improved joint method.Compared to some other methods including MER,AIC,DWT-MER and DWT-AIC,the improved joint method has better SNR stabilities and waveform adaptabilities. 展开更多

The existing concept of adaptive quantization is applied to the design of ∑△ADC to improve SNR with high dynamic range. An adaptive algorithm and its circuit implementation is proposed. The phase shifting angle can be tuned from 0 to 27r by simply adjusting the qubit-resonator detuning and the interaction time. Based on this gate proposal, we give a detailed procedure to implement the three-qubit quantum Fourier transform with circuit quantum eleetrodynamics (QED). A careful analysis of the decoherence sources shows that the algorithm can be achieved with a high fidelity using current circuit QED techniques. 展开更多

In conventional method, the quantity of sampling affects the precision of fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm, and the algorithm needs a large amount of data to process. A novel frequency estimator.enhanced least mean square (ELMS) algorithm for a single complex sinusoid in complex white Gaussian noise, is proposed in ADCP system. As sampling frequency equals 120 krad/s and the sampling number equals 240. the minimum resolving is 0. 5 krad/s. All variances keep 11.11%. ELMS algorithm needs less data than FFT. And the robust algorithm can estimate the spectrum true value to 99.9% when the signal to noise ratio (SNR) is equal to 0 dB. Experiments prove that the estimation values will diverge much from the ideal when SNR is less than -6 dB. 展开更多

In low earth orbit (LEO) satellite or missile communication scenarios, signals may experience extremely large Doppler shifts and have short visual time. Thus, direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) systems should be able to achieve acquisition in a very short time in spite of large Doppler frequencies. However, the traditional methods cannot solve it well. This work describes a new method that uses a differential decoding technique for Doppler mitigation and a batch process of FFT (fast Fourier transform) and IFFT (invert FFT) for the purpose of parallel code phase search by frequency domain correlation. After the code phase is estimated, another FFT process is carried out to search the Doppler frequency. Since both code phase and Doppler frequency domains are searched in parallel, this architecture can provide acquisition fifty times faster than conventional FFT methods. The performance in terms of the probability of detection and false alarm are also analyzed and simulated, showing that a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) loss of 3 dB is introduced by the differential decoding. The proposed method is an efficient way to shorten the acquisition time with slightly hardware increasing. 展开更多

Parent coal tar pitch(CTP)was modified with boric acid(BA),cinnamaldehyde(CMA)and the mixture of BA and CMA,respectively.The parent CTP and three modified CTPs were characterized by elemental analysis,thermogravimetric analysis,Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy.The four samples were carbonized at different temperatures and resultant carbonized products were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction and polarized-light microscopy.The results show that the morphologies and carbonization behaviors of the parent CTP and modified CTPs are quite different.The carbonization yield of the CTP modified with the mixture of BA and CMA is higher than that of CTP modified with BA or CMA only.In addition,the modification of CTP with 7 g of BA and 10 ml of CMA results in an increase in carbonization yield by5.64%.During the pyrolysis of modified CTPs,the dehydration of BA or the distillation of CMA occurs at the temperature lower than 300°C,and methyl and methylene groups of the modified CTPs disappear gradually as temperature rises.Furthermore,the modification of CTP by the mixture of BA and CMA results in more intensive mesophase spheres than other modified CTPs,and the modified CTP is easier to be carbonized to form graphitic carbon. 展开更多
