In addition, the correlation between SPAD value and the concentration of chlorophyll and foliar nitrogen was also investigated. Significant variations in SPAD values were found between the uneven-aged leaves of different dominant species and different altitude gradients. Regression analysis showed that SPAD value was significantly correlated with the concentration of chlorophyll and the content of foliar nitrogen, indicating that SPAD value could be indicators for foliar chlorophyll and nitrogen. It is suggested that SPAD meter is a useful tool for forest assessments in decision-making and operational nutrient management programs.展开更多

(guava) were extracted by water and aqueous ethyl alcohol 50% (1:10) ratio, and the total phenolic content in the extracts was determined spectrophotometrically according to ...Dried ground leaves of Psidium guajava L. (guava) were extracted by water and aqueous ethyl alcohol 50% (1:10) ratio, and the total phenolic content in the extracts was determined spectrophotometrically according to Folin- Ciocalteu’s phenol method and calculated as gallic acid equivalent (GAE). Remarkably high total phenolic content 575.3 ±15.5 and 511.6±6.2 mg of GAE/g of dried weight material (for ethanol guava leaf extracts and water guava leaf extracts, respectively) were obtained. The antioxidant activity of lyophilized extracts was determined at ambient temperature by means of a 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydryzyl (DPPH˙) colorimetry with detection scheme at 515 nm. The activity was evalu- ated by the decrease in absorbance as the result of DPPH˙ color change from purple to yellow. The higher the sample concentration used, the stronger was the free radical-scavenging effect. The results obtained showed that ascorbic acid was a substantially more powerful antioxidant than the extracts from guava leaf. On the other hand, the commercial guava leaf extracts and ethanol guava leaf extracts showed almost the same antioxidant power whereas water guava leaf extracts showed lower antioxidant activity. The parameter EC50 and the time needed to reach the steady state to EC50 concentration ( TEC50 ) affected the antiradical capacity of the sample. The antioxidant efficiency (AE) has been shown to be a more ade- quate parameter for selecting antioxidants than the widely used EC50. This study revealed that guava leaf extracts comprise effective potential source of natural antioxidants.展开更多
The ratio of nitrous oxide(N2O)to N2O plus nitrogen gas(N2)emitted from soils(N2O/(N2O+N2))is regarded as a key parameter for estimating fertilizer nitrogen(N)loss via N2emission at local,regional or global scales.How...The ratio of nitrous oxide(N2O)to N2O plus nitrogen gas(N2)emitted from soils(N2O/(N2O+N2))is regarded as a key parameter for estimating fertilizer nitrogen(N)loss via N2emission at local,regional or global scales.However,reliable measurement of soil N2emissions is still difficult in fertilized soil-crop systems.In this study,the N loss via N2emission following basal urea application(with a dose of 150 kg N ha-1)to a calcareous soil cultivated with winter wheat was quantified using the helium-based gas-flow-soil-core technique.Emissions of N2and N2O from sampled fresh soils were measured under simulated field soil temperature and oxygen conditions.Our observation performed on the first day after irrigation and rainfall events showed the highest N2and N2O emissions,which amounted to approximately 11.8 and 3.8μg N h-1kg-1dry soil,corresponding to 3304 and 1064μg N m-2h-1,respectively.The N2O/(N2O+N2)molar ratios within about 10 days following fertilization ranged from 0.07 to 0.25,which were much larger than those at the other time.During the one-month experimental period,the urea-N loss via emissions of N2,N2O,and N2+N2O was 1.6%,0.6%,and 2.2%,respectively.Our study confirms that the widely applied acetylene-inhibition method substantially underestimates fertilizer N losses via N2emissions from calcareous soils cultivated with winter wheat.展开更多
Fibrous activated alumina is widely applied in catalysts,adsorbents,and composite materials.This work presents a green approach in preparing the fibrous activated Al_(2)O_(3) with high purity and specific surface area...Fibrous activated alumina is widely applied in catalysts,adsorbents,and composite materials.This work presents a green approach in preparing the fibrous activated Al_(2)O_(3) with high purity and specific surface area through multistep phase transformation of aluminum-bearing substances using intermediate dawsonite as a template.Thermodynamic calculations and experimental results show that increasing the concentration of Na_(2)CO_(3) and(NH_(4))_(2)CO_(3) is remarkably beneficial to the formation of dawsonite and ammonium aluminum carbonate hydroxide,respectively.Based on determination of dissolution and precipitation mechanism,the ultrafine granular gibbsite is converted to the uniform fibrous dawsonite with a ratio of length to diameter over 50,and the fibrous dawsonite changes into the long fibrous ammonium aluminum carbonate hydroxide with a ratio of length to diameter is about 80 in above 70 g/L(NH_(4))_(2)CO_(3) solution.Furthermore,the activated alumina remains fibrous morphology after roasting ammonium aluminum carbonate hydroxide at a slow heating rate,plentiful open mesopore and weak aggregation of particles,which contributes to the high specific surface area of 159.37 m^(2)/g at 1273 K for the activated alumina.The complete transformation of dawsonite to ammonium aluminum carbonate hydroxide and high specific surface area contribute to the purity of the activated fibrous alumina above 99.9%with low Na and Fe content.展开更多

Theoretical models of grinding are used to explain the experimental observation. The results show that 1) The principle disintegration mechanism of hardened cement and river sand is volumetric grinding, although at later stages grinding of cement becomes difficult because of its flaked structure; 2) The lime- stone grinding process can be divided into two steps. First, volumetric grinding, with an obvious component of surface grinding, followed by primarily surface grinding as the micro-particle content increases; 3) Initially, the principle mechanism of grinding limestone and river sand is volumetric grinding, albeit less efficient grinding than if these components were ground separately, and; 4) After 10 to 20 min of grinding the grinding bottleneck phenomenon ap- pears and after 20 min of grinding the content of micro-particles is large and surface grinding is the main mechanism while the particle size of the mixture is smaller than that of separately ground river sand and cement but bigger than that of separately ground limestone.展开更多

The fly ash was mixed with an aqueous NaOH solution, the alkali melted fly ash was also adopted, which is hydrothermally treated at about 104 ℃, and the liquid/solid ratio was controlled at 6:1. In order to control Si/Al molar ratio, SiO2 or Al2O3 powers were added to the fly ash. The results of XRD and SEM show that the alkali melted can activate fly ash and eliminate its quartz and mullite, along with the improvement of Si/Al molar ratio and alkalinity. In addition, zeolite Na-A changes into sodalite gradually, and nepheline is the synthesized intermediate product. Those results were discussed on the basis of a formation mechanism of zeolite from fly ash.展开更多

Five composite zeolite cata...The objective of this study is to explore the optimum composition of Y and ZSM-5 zeolites to develop novel catalysts for obtaining lower gasoline olefins content and higher propylene yield. Five composite zeolite catalysts with varying Y zeolite/ZSM-5 zeolite ratios have been prepared in this work to investigate the synergy between the Y zeolite and ZSM-5 zeolite on the selectivity to protolytic cracking, β-scission, oligomerization, and hydrogen transfer reactions using a FCC naphtha feedstock at 480 ℃ in a confined fluidized bed reactor. Experimental results showed that the composite catalyst with a Y zeolite/ZSM-5 zeolite ratio of 1:4 had the highest protolytic cracking and β-scission ability, which was even higher than that of pure ZSM-5 catalyst. On the other hand, the catalyst with a Y zeolite/ZSM-5 zeolite ratio of 3:2 exhibited the strongest hydrogen transfer functionality while the pure Y zeolite based catalyst had the highest oligomerization ability. For all the catalysts tested, increasing conversion enhanced the selectivity to protolytic cracking and hydrogen transfer reactions but reduced the selectivity to β-scission reaction. However, no clear trend was identified for the selectivity to oligomerization when an increased conversion was experienced.展开更多

Due to its unique physical and chemical properties, graphite is quickly becoming an increasin...The Assosa region of western Ethiopia hosts newly discovered and potentially highly economic graphite-bearing schist units. Due to its unique physical and chemical properties, graphite is quickly becoming an increasingly important economic resource. Graphite occurs over much of the area, and is hosted predominantly by quartz-graphitic schist, quartz-feldspar-mica schist and quartzite. The quartz-graphitic schist covers an area of 37 km2, forming steep valleys and ridges across a 190 km long belt. Graphite is texturally-variable within and across units. Crystal habit varies from highly crystalline to irregular flakes. Flake sizes range from amorphous and crystalline small flake to coarse large flake (〉 150 p.m), with beneficiation of- 70% and yield potential of 〉 95% (froth flotation methods). The license area is already a well-known gold-hosting area, and potentially economic gold deposits occur within the graphite-bearing units. Overall, the site shows excellent geochemical indicators, field observations and historical accounts of high gold content. It is suggested that textural variations may be the product of (1) early in-situ formation during (early- to late-Proterozoic) prograde metamorphism and (2) later vein-type mineralization during retrograde metamorphism. The discovery of graphite in western Ethiopia is the first documented and preliminary studies suggest a high economic potential for the deposits.展开更多

The effect of different pomegranate extracts, PE (peel extract), SOE (seed oil extract), and PJ (pomegranate juice) extract on levels of kidney caspase-3, DNAF (DNA fragmentation) and kidney function tests in rats treated and untreated with DEN (diethyl nitrosamine) and PB (Phenobarbital) during short (35 days) and long (154 days) period was studied. Injected of rats with DEN and PB caused an increased in the levels ofDNAF, caspase-3 and kidney function tests, compared to the control in both period of study. Treatment of rats with PE, SOE, PJ pre, during, and post DEN and PB administration improved kidney function and decreased the levels of DNAF, and caspase-3 activities compared to the DEN group in both period of study, indicates that PE, SOE, PJ reduced and treatment apoptosis induced by DEN and PB. Treatment of healthy rats with PE, SOE, and PJ only for 35 days not increased kidney function or induced apoptosis for kidney tissues. Treatment with PJ alone in healthy kidney induced apoptosis which was higher than that induced by SOE and PE in case of long period study, this mean that fresh fruit or pomegranate juice safe for healthy in general at harvesting season only.展开更多

Methods Female Balb/C-nu-nu nude mice (or female T739 mice) were narcotized by sodium pentobarbital at a dosage of 60 mg/ kg. The stylet of the 24# venous retention needles was bent in a 5° to 7° angle at a distance of 15 mm from the needlepoint to form a circle with 2.61 mm to 3.66 mm radius when the stylet is rotated. The pipe casing was lubricated with liquid paraffin, and inserted into the bladder cavity. The drift angle stylet was inserted into the pipe casing slowly, rotated for five times, and then pulled out. A cell 6 suspension (0.1 mL) of approximately lx10 T24 cells (or BTT cells) was then injected imme&ately. Results A total of 60 T739 mice and 60 Balb/C-nu-nu nude mice were inoculated with BTT cells and T24 cells, respectively. The bladder tumor incidence and the average survival time of the tumor-bearing mice were 100% and (26.69±9.24) d and 100% and (34.59±9.8) d for the T739 mice and Balb/C-nu-nu nude mice, respectively. Conclusions Using the drift angle stylet to injure the mucous membrane of the urinary bladder can establish a stable bladder transplantable tumor model in mice.展开更多

We analyzed the ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of basaltic rocks and basin water in Xuyi,China,and found a big difference,which may challenge conventional wisdom on the contribution of basalt weathering in end-member analysis...We analyzed the ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of basaltic rocks and basin water in Xuyi,China,and found a big difference,which may challenge conventional wisdom on the contribution of basalt weathering in end-member analysis.Results of an in-house weathering experiment suggest that rainwater and dust are not responsible for the difference.By isolating the major minerals in basalt,we found that plagioclase has much higher ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios than bulk basalt and basin water,which might explain the difference in ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of basalt and basin water.We inferthatlow-temperaturehydrothermalalteration increased the ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of plagioclase.Future analyses of end-member contribution in a mixed-rock basin should take into account that basin water and plagioclase have higher ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios than basaltic rocks.展开更多
In this study,various ZSM-5/MCM-41 micro/mesoporous zeolite composites have been prepared by alkalidesilication and surfactant-directed recrystallization of ZSM-5.The effects of particle size and Si/Al ratio of initia...In this study,various ZSM-5/MCM-41 micro/mesoporous zeolite composites have been prepared by alkalidesilication and surfactant-directed recrystallization of ZSM-5.The effects of particle size and Si/Al ratio of initial ZSM-5 zeolites on the structure and catalytic performance of ZSM-5/MCM-41 composites are studied.The results of XRD,TEM N_2-adsorption-desorption,NH_3-TPD and in situ FT-IR revealed that ordered hexagonal MCM-41 mesopores with 3-4 nm pore size were formed around ZSM-5 crystals,and the specific surface area and mesopore volume of composites increased with increasing the Si/Al ratio of initial ZSM-5.Catalytic cracking of n-dodecane(550℃,4 MPa) showed that the ZSM-5/MCM-41 composites obtained from the high Si/Al ratio and nano-sized initial ZSM-5 zeolites exhibited superior catalytic performance,with the improvement higher than 87%in the catalytic activities and 21%in the deactivation rate compared with untreated zeolites.This could be ascribed to their suitable pore structure,which enhanced the diffusion of reactant molecules in pores of catalysts.展开更多

A simplified analogy of the process of their formation is here analyzed by standard solid state physics and the so called dynamic quantized fracture mechanics. An expression which links the crater volume to the parameters of the impactor and the target is obtained within the two approaches. For low impactor energy, this expression is of the same mathematical form as the one resulting from recent experiments. It is shown that the formation of an impact crater is possible even without heating of the target, if the critical stress in the target satisfies certain conditions. The critical value of the stress needed for the occurence of a fracture is calculated for three craters: two terrestrial and one lunar craters. The approach presented here uses only measurable material parameters, and therefore is more realistic than the treatement of the same problem using the cohesive energy of materials.展开更多
This work aims at selecting optimal operating variables to obtain the minimum specific energy(SE) in sawing of rocks.A particular granite was sampled and sawn by a fully automated circular diamond sawblades.The periph...This work aims at selecting optimal operating variables to obtain the minimum specific energy(SE) in sawing of rocks.A particular granite was sampled and sawn by a fully automated circular diamond sawblades.The peripheral speed,the traverse speed,the cut depth and the flow rate of cooling fluid were selected as the operating variables.Taguchi approach was adopted as a statistical design of experimental technique for optimization studies.The results were evaluated based on the analysis of variance and signal-to-noise ratio(S/N ratio).Statistically significant operating variables and their percentage contribution to the process were also determined.Additionally,a statistical model was developed to demonstrate the relationship between SE and operating variables using regression analysis and the model was then verified.It was found that the optimal combination of operating variables for minimum SE is the peripheral speed of 25 m/s,the traverse speed of 70 cm/min,the cut depth of 2 cm and the flow rate of cooling fluid of 100 mL/s.The cut depth and traverse speed were statistically determined as the significant operating variables affecting the SE,respectively.Furthermore,the regression model results reveal that the predictive model has a high applicability for practical applications.展开更多

In this study, we report high-precision vanadium (V) isotopic compositions of 11 unequilibrated and equilibrated L chondrites. Our samples show an average δ^51v of -1.25‰ ±0.38‰ (2SD, n = 11), which is ,- 0.5‰ lighter than that of the bulk silicate Earth constrained by mantle peridotites. Isotopic fractionation in type 3 ordinary chondrites vary from - 1.76‰ to - 1.29‰, whereas the δ^51V of equilibrated chondrites vary from - 1.37‰ to -1.08‰. 551V of L chondrites do not correlate with thermal metamorphism, shock stage, or weathering degree. Future studies are required to explore the reason for V isotope variation in the solar system.展开更多
The spacing–burden(S/B) ratio plays significant role on rock fragmentation and proper utilization of explosive energy to minimize the undesirable damage.Low S/B ratio generates fine fragments due to pressure rings co...The spacing–burden(S/B) ratio plays significant role on rock fragmentation and proper utilization of explosive energy to minimize the undesirable damage.Low S/B ratio generates fine fragments due to pressure rings coalescence of two blast holes,whereas boulder generations were observed above optimum S/B ratio.Both conditions are not acceptable because of wastage of explosive energy.Therefore,to resolve this issue,a numerical model study was conducted to optimize the S/B ratio and to envisage its effect on rock fragmentation based on utilization of explosive energy.Finite element simulation tool was used to see the extent of two blast hole influence area variation with varying S/B ratio.The better results were obtained at S/B ratio of 1:2 with optimum utilization of peak explosive energy.The performance was observed based on peak kinetic energy,peak pressure,radial and hoop stresses on centre of the two blast holes,where pressure rings coalescence.展开更多

文摘The ratio of nitrous oxide(N2O)to N2O plus nitrogen gas(N2)emitted from soils(N2O/(N2O+N2))is regarded as a key parameter for estimating fertilizer nitrogen(N)loss via N2emission at local,regional or global scales.However,reliable measurement of soil N2emissions is still difficult in fertilized soil-crop systems.In this study,the N loss via N2emission following basal urea application(with a dose of 150 kg N ha-1)to a calcareous soil cultivated with winter wheat was quantified using the helium-based gas-flow-soil-core technique.Emissions of N2and N2O from sampled fresh soils were measured under simulated field soil temperature and oxygen conditions.Our observation performed on the first day after irrigation and rainfall events showed the highest N2and N2O emissions,which amounted to approximately 11.8 and 3.8μg N h-1kg-1dry soil,corresponding to 3304 and 1064μg N m-2h-1,respectively.The N2O/(N2O+N2)molar ratios within about 10 days following fertilization ranged from 0.07 to 0.25,which were much larger than those at the other time.During the one-month experimental period,the urea-N loss via emissions of N2,N2O,and N2+N2O was 1.6%,0.6%,and 2.2%,respectively.Our study confirms that the widely applied acetylene-inhibition method substantially underestimates fertilizer N losses via N2emissions from calcareous soils cultivated with winter wheat.

文摘Fibrous activated alumina is widely applied in catalysts,adsorbents,and composite materials.This work presents a green approach in preparing the fibrous activated Al_(2)O_(3) with high purity and specific surface area through multistep phase transformation of aluminum-bearing substances using intermediate dawsonite as a template.Thermodynamic calculations and experimental results show that increasing the concentration of Na_(2)CO_(3) and(NH_(4))_(2)CO_(3) is remarkably beneficial to the formation of dawsonite and ammonium aluminum carbonate hydroxide,respectively.Based on determination of dissolution and precipitation mechanism,the ultrafine granular gibbsite is converted to the uniform fibrous dawsonite with a ratio of length to diameter over 50,and the fibrous dawsonite changes into the long fibrous ammonium aluminum carbonate hydroxide with a ratio of length to diameter is about 80 in above 70 g/L(NH_(4))_(2)CO_(3) solution.Furthermore,the activated alumina remains fibrous morphology after roasting ammonium aluminum carbonate hydroxide at a slow heating rate,plentiful open mesopore and weak aggregation of particles,which contributes to the high specific surface area of 159.37 m^(2)/g at 1273 K for the activated alumina.The complete transformation of dawsonite to ammonium aluminum carbonate hydroxide and high specific surface area contribute to the purity of the activated fibrous alumina above 99.9%with low Na and Fe content.
文摘The grinding properties of abandoned concrete, which consists primarily of hardened cement, limestone aggregate and river sand, are studied. Theoretical models of grinding are used to explain the experimental observation. The results show that 1) The principle disintegration mechanism of hardened cement and river sand is volumetric grinding, although at later stages grinding of cement becomes difficult because of its flaked structure; 2) The lime- stone grinding process can be divided into two steps. First, volumetric grinding, with an obvious component of surface grinding, followed by primarily surface grinding as the micro-particle content increases; 3) Initially, the principle mechanism of grinding limestone and river sand is volumetric grinding, albeit less efficient grinding than if these components were ground separately, and; 4) After 10 to 20 min of grinding the grinding bottleneck phenomenon ap- pears and after 20 min of grinding the content of micro-particles is large and surface grinding is the main mechanism while the particle size of the mixture is smaller than that of separately ground river sand and cement but bigger than that of separately ground limestone.

文摘In the present paper, we study effect of the long-range Coulomb interaction on the thermodynamic propertiesof graphene by renormalization group methods.Our calculations show that both the specific heat and the magneticsusceptibility of the material behave differently from the Landau Fermi liquid.More precisely, we find that thesequantities are logarithmically suppressed with respect to its noninteracting counterpart when temperature is low.

文摘In order to improve the activity and eliminate some impurities, pretreatment was used before hydrothermal synthesis. The fly ash was mixed with an aqueous NaOH solution, the alkali melted fly ash was also adopted, which is hydrothermally treated at about 104 ℃, and the liquid/solid ratio was controlled at 6:1. In order to control Si/Al molar ratio, SiO2 or Al2O3 powers were added to the fly ash. The results of XRD and SEM show that the alkali melted can activate fly ash and eliminate its quartz and mullite, along with the improvement of Si/Al molar ratio and alkalinity. In addition, zeolite Na-A changes into sodalite gradually, and nepheline is the synthesized intermediate product. Those results were discussed on the basis of a formation mechanism of zeolite from fly ash.

文摘The objective of this study is to explore the optimum composition of Y and ZSM-5 zeolites to develop novel catalysts for obtaining lower gasoline olefins content and higher propylene yield. Five composite zeolite catalysts with varying Y zeolite/ZSM-5 zeolite ratios have been prepared in this work to investigate the synergy between the Y zeolite and ZSM-5 zeolite on the selectivity to protolytic cracking, β-scission, oligomerization, and hydrogen transfer reactions using a FCC naphtha feedstock at 480 ℃ in a confined fluidized bed reactor. Experimental results showed that the composite catalyst with a Y zeolite/ZSM-5 zeolite ratio of 1:4 had the highest protolytic cracking and β-scission ability, which was even higher than that of pure ZSM-5 catalyst. On the other hand, the catalyst with a Y zeolite/ZSM-5 zeolite ratio of 3:2 exhibited the strongest hydrogen transfer functionality while the pure Y zeolite based catalyst had the highest oligomerization ability. For all the catalysts tested, increasing conversion enhanced the selectivity to protolytic cracking and hydrogen transfer reactions but reduced the selectivity to β-scission reaction. However, no clear trend was identified for the selectivity to oligomerization when an increased conversion was experienced.
文摘The Assosa region of western Ethiopia hosts newly discovered and potentially highly economic graphite-bearing schist units. Due to its unique physical and chemical properties, graphite is quickly becoming an increasingly important economic resource. Graphite occurs over much of the area, and is hosted predominantly by quartz-graphitic schist, quartz-feldspar-mica schist and quartzite. The quartz-graphitic schist covers an area of 37 km2, forming steep valleys and ridges across a 190 km long belt. Graphite is texturally-variable within and across units. Crystal habit varies from highly crystalline to irregular flakes. Flake sizes range from amorphous and crystalline small flake to coarse large flake (〉 150 p.m), with beneficiation of- 70% and yield potential of 〉 95% (froth flotation methods). The license area is already a well-known gold-hosting area, and potentially economic gold deposits occur within the graphite-bearing units. Overall, the site shows excellent geochemical indicators, field observations and historical accounts of high gold content. It is suggested that textural variations may be the product of (1) early in-situ formation during (early- to late-Proterozoic) prograde metamorphism and (2) later vein-type mineralization during retrograde metamorphism. The discovery of graphite in western Ethiopia is the first documented and preliminary studies suggest a high economic potential for the deposits.
文摘Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) has strong anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti obesity, and anticancer effects. The effect of different pomegranate extracts, PE (peel extract), SOE (seed oil extract), and PJ (pomegranate juice) extract on levels of kidney caspase-3, DNAF (DNA fragmentation) and kidney function tests in rats treated and untreated with DEN (diethyl nitrosamine) and PB (Phenobarbital) during short (35 days) and long (154 days) period was studied. Injected of rats with DEN and PB caused an increased in the levels ofDNAF, caspase-3 and kidney function tests, compared to the control in both period of study. Treatment of rats with PE, SOE, PJ pre, during, and post DEN and PB administration improved kidney function and decreased the levels of DNAF, and caspase-3 activities compared to the DEN group in both period of study, indicates that PE, SOE, PJ reduced and treatment apoptosis induced by DEN and PB. Treatment of healthy rats with PE, SOE, and PJ only for 35 days not increased kidney function or induced apoptosis for kidney tissues. Treatment with PJ alone in healthy kidney induced apoptosis which was higher than that induced by SOE and PE in case of long period study, this mean that fresh fruit or pomegranate juice safe for healthy in general at harvesting season only.

文摘Objective The present study aims to find a convenient, rapid, and stable method to establish bladder tumor in mice. Methods Female Balb/C-nu-nu nude mice (or female T739 mice) were narcotized by sodium pentobarbital at a dosage of 60 mg/ kg. The stylet of the 24# venous retention needles was bent in a 5° to 7° angle at a distance of 15 mm from the needlepoint to form a circle with 2.61 mm to 3.66 mm radius when the stylet is rotated. The pipe casing was lubricated with liquid paraffin, and inserted into the bladder cavity. The drift angle stylet was inserted into the pipe casing slowly, rotated for five times, and then pulled out. A cell 6 suspension (0.1 mL) of approximately lx10 T24 cells (or BTT cells) was then injected imme&ately. Results A total of 60 T739 mice and 60 Balb/C-nu-nu nude mice were inoculated with BTT cells and T24 cells, respectively. The bladder tumor incidence and the average survival time of the tumor-bearing mice were 100% and (26.69±9.24) d and 100% and (34.59±9.8) d for the T739 mice and Balb/C-nu-nu nude mice, respectively. Conclusions Using the drift angle stylet to injure the mucous membrane of the urinary bladder can establish a stable bladder transplantable tumor model in mice.

文摘In order to calculate the suspended sediment discharge of the flood debris flows into the main river,a small scale flume test was designed to simulate the process of confluence of Jiangjia Ravine and Xiangjiang River in Yunnan province,China.By test observation and data analysis,suspended sediment discharge of Debris flow after its entry into the main river was found to have a close relation with the bulk density,the confluence angle of the Debris flow and the main river,the ratio between per unit width discharge of Debris flow and main river.Based on the measured and simulated results,and statistical analysis,an empirical formula was proposed for the suspended SDR(Sediment Delivery Ratio) of the main river after the confluence of Debris flow.Compared with the observed results of Debris flow in 2009,the error between the data calculated by the empirical formula and the monitored data is only about 10%.

文摘We analyzed the ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of basaltic rocks and basin water in Xuyi,China,and found a big difference,which may challenge conventional wisdom on the contribution of basalt weathering in end-member analysis.Results of an in-house weathering experiment suggest that rainwater and dust are not responsible for the difference.By isolating the major minerals in basalt,we found that plagioclase has much higher ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios than bulk basalt and basin water,which might explain the difference in ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of basalt and basin water.We inferthatlow-temperaturehydrothermalalteration increased the ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of plagioclase.Future analyses of end-member contribution in a mixed-rock basin should take into account that basin water and plagioclase have higher ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios than basaltic rocks.

文摘In this study,various ZSM-5/MCM-41 micro/mesoporous zeolite composites have been prepared by alkalidesilication and surfactant-directed recrystallization of ZSM-5.The effects of particle size and Si/Al ratio of initial ZSM-5 zeolites on the structure and catalytic performance of ZSM-5/MCM-41 composites are studied.The results of XRD,TEM N_2-adsorption-desorption,NH_3-TPD and in situ FT-IR revealed that ordered hexagonal MCM-41 mesopores with 3-4 nm pore size were formed around ZSM-5 crystals,and the specific surface area and mesopore volume of composites increased with increasing the Si/Al ratio of initial ZSM-5.Catalytic cracking of n-dodecane(550℃,4 MPa) showed that the ZSM-5/MCM-41 composites obtained from the high Si/Al ratio and nano-sized initial ZSM-5 zeolites exhibited superior catalytic performance,with the improvement higher than 87%in the catalytic activities and 21%in the deactivation rate compared with untreated zeolites.This could be ascribed to their suitable pore structure,which enhanced the diffusion of reactant molecules in pores of catalysts.
文摘Impact craters exist on various solid objects in the planetary system. A simplified analogy of the process of their formation is here analyzed by standard solid state physics and the so called dynamic quantized fracture mechanics. An expression which links the crater volume to the parameters of the impactor and the target is obtained within the two approaches. For low impactor energy, this expression is of the same mathematical form as the one resulting from recent experiments. It is shown that the formation of an impact crater is possible even without heating of the target, if the critical stress in the target satisfies certain conditions. The critical value of the stress needed for the occurence of a fracture is calculated for three craters: two terrestrial and one lunar craters. The approach presented here uses only measurable material parameters, and therefore is more realistic than the treatement of the same problem using the cohesive energy of materials.
文摘This work aims at selecting optimal operating variables to obtain the minimum specific energy(SE) in sawing of rocks.A particular granite was sampled and sawn by a fully automated circular diamond sawblades.The peripheral speed,the traverse speed,the cut depth and the flow rate of cooling fluid were selected as the operating variables.Taguchi approach was adopted as a statistical design of experimental technique for optimization studies.The results were evaluated based on the analysis of variance and signal-to-noise ratio(S/N ratio).Statistically significant operating variables and their percentage contribution to the process were also determined.Additionally,a statistical model was developed to demonstrate the relationship between SE and operating variables using regression analysis and the model was then verified.It was found that the optimal combination of operating variables for minimum SE is the peripheral speed of 25 m/s,the traverse speed of 70 cm/min,the cut depth of 2 cm and the flow rate of cooling fluid of 100 mL/s.The cut depth and traverse speed were statistically determined as the significant operating variables affecting the SE,respectively.Furthermore,the regression model results reveal that the predictive model has a high applicability for practical applications.

文摘Stable isotopic data of meteorites are critical for understanding the evolution of terrestrial planets. In this study, we report high-precision vanadium (V) isotopic compositions of 11 unequilibrated and equilibrated L chondrites. Our samples show an average δ^51v of -1.25‰ ±0.38‰ (2SD, n = 11), which is ,- 0.5‰ lighter than that of the bulk silicate Earth constrained by mantle peridotites. Isotopic fractionation in type 3 ordinary chondrites vary from - 1.76‰ to - 1.29‰, whereas the δ^51V of equilibrated chondrites vary from - 1.37‰ to -1.08‰. 551V of L chondrites do not correlate with thermal metamorphism, shock stage, or weathering degree. Future studies are required to explore the reason for V isotope variation in the solar system.
文摘The spacing–burden(S/B) ratio plays significant role on rock fragmentation and proper utilization of explosive energy to minimize the undesirable damage.Low S/B ratio generates fine fragments due to pressure rings coalescence of two blast holes,whereas boulder generations were observed above optimum S/B ratio.Both conditions are not acceptable because of wastage of explosive energy.Therefore,to resolve this issue,a numerical model study was conducted to optimize the S/B ratio and to envisage its effect on rock fragmentation based on utilization of explosive energy.Finite element simulation tool was used to see the extent of two blast hole influence area variation with varying S/B ratio.The better results were obtained at S/B ratio of 1:2 with optimum utilization of peak explosive energy.The performance was observed based on peak kinetic energy,peak pressure,radial and hoop stresses on centre of the two blast holes,where pressure rings coalescence.
