A differential equation that is generally effective for squeeze film air damping of perforated plate and non perforated plate as well as in MEMS devices is developed.For perforated plate,the thickness and the dimens...A differential equation that is generally effective for squeeze film air damping of perforated plate and non perforated plate as well as in MEMS devices is developed.For perforated plate,the thickness and the dimensions of the plate are not limited.With boundary conditions,pressure distribution and the damping force on the plate can be found by solving the differential equation.Analytical expressions for damping pressure and damping force of a long strip holeplate are presented with a finite thickness and a finite width.To the extreme conditions of very thin plate and very thin hole,the results are reduced to the corresponding results of the conventional Reynolds' equation.Thus, the effectiveness of the generalized differential equation is justified.Therefore,the generalized Reynolds' equation will be a useful tool of design for damping structures in MEMS.展开更多

With the increase of the speed of train, aerodynamic drag plays an important role for high-speed train. Thus, the reduction of aerodynamic drag and energy consumption of high-speed train is one of the essential issues for the development of the desirable train system. Aerodynamic drag on the traveling train is divided into pressure drag and friction one. Pressure drag of train is the force caused by the pressure distribution on the train along the reverse running direction. Friction drag of train is the sum of shear stress, which is the reverse direction of train running direction. In order to reduce the aerodynamic drag, adopting streamline shape of train is the most effective measure. The velocity of the train is related to its length and shape. The outer wind shields can reduce train's air drag by about 15%. The structure and working principle of a self-deigned high pressure electronic pneumatic pressure reducing valve (EPPRV) with slide pilot are introduced.The resistance value formulas and the relationship between the r...The structure and working principle of a self-deigned high pressure electronic pneumatic pressure reducing valve (EPPRV) with slide pilot are introduced.The resistance value formulas and the relationship between the resistance and pressure of three typical pneumatic resistances are obtained.Then,the method of static characteristics analysis only considering pneumatic resistances is proposed,the resistance network from gas supply to load is built up,and the mathematical model is derived from the flow rate formulas and flow conservation equations,with the compressibility of high pressure gas and temperature drop during the expansion considered in the model.Finally,the pilot spool displacement of 1.5 mm at an output pressure of 15MPa and the enlarging operating stroke of the pilot spool are taken as optimization targets,and the optimization is carried out based on genetic algorithm and the model mentioned above.The results show that the static characteristics of the EPPRV are significantly improved.The idea of static characteristics analysis and optimization based on pneumatic resistance network is valuable for the design of pneumatic components or system.展开更多

Based on...The near casing flow fields inside the rotor passage of a 1.5 stage axial compressor with different blade-loading levels and tip gap sizes were measured by using stereoscopic particle image velocimetry(SPIV). Based on a carefully defined blockage extracting method, the variations of blockage parameter inside the blade passage were analyzed. It was found that the variation of blockage parameter appeared as a non-monotonic behavior inside the blade passage in most cases. This non-monotonic behavior became much more remarkable as the blade loading increases or mass flow rate decreases.The variations of the blockage parameter inside the blade passage had close relation to the evolutionary procedures of the tip leakage vortex(TLV). The destabilization of the TLV caused a rapid increasing of the blockage parameter. After the TLV lost the features of a concentrated streamwise vortex,the blockage parameter usually got a peak value. And then, because of the intense turbulent mixing between the TLV low momentum flow and its surrounding flows, the flow deficit inside the TLV recovered.展开更多
Solar sail is used to achieve a geocentric sun-synchronous frozen orbit.This kind of orbit combines the characteristics of both sun-synchronous orbits and frozen orbits.Furthermore,the impossible orbits for a typical ...Solar sail is used to achieve a geocentric sun-synchronous frozen orbit.This kind of orbit combines the characteristics of both sun-synchronous orbits and frozen orbits.Furthermore,the impossible orbits for a typical spacecraft such as sun-synchronous orbits whose inclination is less than 90° are also possible for solar sail.To achieve a sun-synchronous frozen orbit,the characteristic acceleration of the sail is chosen properly.In addition,the attitude of the sail is adjusted to keep the sun-synchronous and frozen characteristics.The perturbations including atmosphere drag,third-body gravitational forces and shaded regions are discussed,where the atmosphere drag is cancelled by solar radiation pressure force,third-body gravitational forces have negligible effects on the orbit and the shaded region can be avoided by choosing the classical orbit elements of the sail.At last,a numerical example is employed to validate the sun-synchronous frozen characteristics of the sail.展开更多
