Operation a...A continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) process with granular activated carbon (GAC) was developed for fermentation hydrogen production from molasses-containing wastewater by mixed microbial cultures. Operation at 35℃, an initial biomass of 17.74 g·L^-1 and hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 6 h, the CSTR reactor presented a continuous hydrogen production ability of 5.9 L·d^-1 and the biogas was free of methane throughout the experiment. Dissolved fermehtation products were predominated by ethanol and acetate acid, with smaller quantities of propionic acid, butyric acid and valeric acid. It was found that GAC could make the immobilized system durable and stable in response to organic load impacting and low pH value. When the organic loading rate (OLR) ranged from 8 kgCOD/(m^3d) to 4 kgCOD/(m^3d), stable ethanol-type fermentation was formed, and the ethanol and acetate concentrations account for 89% of the total liquid products.展开更多
A simple and efficient sonochemical method was developed for the degradation of organic matter and ammonia nitrogen in azodicarbonamide wastewater.The effects of initial pH,ultrasound format and peripheral water level...A simple and efficient sonochemical method was developed for the degradation of organic matter and ammonia nitrogen in azodicarbonamide wastewater.The effects of initial pH,ultrasound format and peripheral water level on the sonolysis of hydrazine,urea,COD and ammonia nitrogen were investigated.It is found that the initial pH has a significant influence on the degradation of hydrazine and ammonia nitrogen,whereas this impact to urea is relatively small.It also shows that a noticeable enhancement of ammonia nitrogen removal could be achieved in a proper intermittent ultrasound operation mode,i.e.,1/1 min on/off mode.The height difference between the periph-eral water level and the inner water level of the flask affects the efficiency of ultrasonic treatment as well.展开更多

A series of special techniques are...A comprehensive study of the data profiles, including the 2D seismic data, single channel seismic data, shallow sections, etc., reveals that gas hydrates occur in the East China Sea. A series of special techniques are used in the processing of seismic data, which include enhancing the accuracy of velocity analysis and resolution, estimating the wavelet, suppressing the multiple, preserving the relative amplitude, using the DMO and AVO techniques and some special techniques in dealing with the wave impedance. The existence of gas hydrates is reflected in the subbottom profiles in the appearance of BSRs, amplitude anomalies, velocity anomalies and AVO anomalies, etc. Hence the gas hydrates can be identified and predicted. It is pointed out that the East China Sea is a favorable area of the gas hydrates resource, and the Okinawa Trough is a target area of gas hydrates reservoir.展开更多

Experimental results have shown that the sulfur removal rate of FCC naphtha could reach over 85%, with the RON of gasoline increased by 0.2-0.6 units, the MON increased by 1.3-1.8 units and the antiknock index of the gasoline increased by around one unit. The total C5+ liquid yield was over 95%. The activity of regenerated catalyst could be restored to be equal to that of fresh one after coke burning on the spent catalyst.展开更多
