A combination of X-ray powder diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, diffuse reflection infrared Fourier transform, and ^31p magic-angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance techniques with density function computation was used to elucidate the products and mecha- nism of the reactions among silica, H3PO4, and NaH2PO4 during the preparation of silica supported H3PO4 and NaH2PO4 catalysts. The spectral test results indicate that besides polyphosphoric acid, silicon phosphates on silica supported H3PO4 are also formed. On silica supported NaH2PO4 only sodium polyphosphates are present. Density functional theory (DFT) simulations indicate that in the initial stage, reaction of H3PO4 with silanol groups on the silica support is more favorable than that between H3PO4 itself. In contrast, dimerization and trimerization of NaH2PO4 are predicted to be the predominant initial reactions for the silica supported NaH2PO4 catalyst. 展开更多

The influences of sodium silicate on manganese electrodeposition in sulfate solution were investigated. Manganese electrodeposition experiments indicate that a certain amount of sodium silicate can improve cathode current efficiency and initial pH 7.0?8.0 is the optimized pH for high cathode current efficiency. The analyses of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) indicate the compact morphology and nanocrystalline structure of electrodeposits. X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS) analysis shows that the elements of Mn, Si and O exist in the deposit. The solution chemistry calculations of sulfate electrolyte and sodium silicate solution indicate that species of Mn2+, MnSO4, Mn(SO4)2?2 , Mn2+, MnSiO3, Mn(NH3)2+, SiO32?and HSiO3? are the main active species during the process of manganese electrodeposition. The reaction trend between Mn2+ and Si-containing ions is confirmed by the thermodynamic analysis. In addition, polarization curve tests confirm that sodium silicate can increase the overpotential of hydrogen evolution reaction, and then indirectly improve the cathode current efficiency. 展开更多

To ensure the safety of consumers, prolong the shelf life of moon cake and reduce the cost of manufacturing and marketing enterprises, the optimization of preservative formula and the shelf life of cantonese style moon cake were studied. Through single and compound formula preservative test, the results showed that potassium sorbate and sodium dehydroacetate could inhibit the microorganisms in the moon cake, but the inhibitory effect of sodium dehydroacetate was stronger than that of potassium sorbate; and the combination of potassium sorbate and sodium dehydroacetate had a synergistic effect, and the best formula is 'potassium sorbate 0.44 g/kg mixed with sodium dehydroacetate 0.38 g/kg. A batch of moon cake was prepared with the best preservative formula, then the total number of colonies, molds and coliform group in the samples were detected by random sampling at irregular intervals. The total number of molds exceeded the limit on the 187^th d, and it indicated that the shelf life of the product was 187 d. Compared with the conventional 15-day shelf life, this research greatly prolongs the sheff life of cantonese style moon cake, and cut down the cost of moon cake enterprises. Plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) of brass was carried out in aluminate electrolytes with the addition of NaH2PO4(S1) and Na2SiO3(S2), respectively, with the aim to investigate the effect of additives on the coating formation and corrosion resistance. For the PEO in S1 electrolyte, a mixed layer of AlPO4and Al2O3is formed at the initial stage, which leads to fast plasma discharges and formation of black coatings with the compositions of Al2O3,CuO, Cu2O and ZnO. However, in S2 electrolyte, plasma discharges are delayed and the coatings show a reddish color due to more Cu2O. Mott-Schottky tests show that the S1 coatings are p-type semiconductors;while the S2 coatings can be adjusted between n-type and p-type. Potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) tests show that the PEO treatment can significantly improve the corrosion resistance of brass, with protection efficiency up to 91.50% and the largest charge transfer resistance of 59.95 kΩ·cm^(2) for the S1 coating. 展开更多

XRD data confirm the product phase to be gibbsitic by nature. The scanning electron micrographs (SEM) show that agglomerated products form in the presence of hydrazine while fine discrete particles are produced with hydrogen peroxide. Accordingly, this study quantified the photosynthetic assimilation of inorganic carbon (COe and HCO3-) by plants. The net photosynthetic COa assimilation (PN), the photosynthetic assimilation of CO2 and bicarbonate (PN'), the proportion of increased leaf area (lEA) and the stable carbon isotope composition (δ13C) of Orychophragmus violaceus (Ov) and Brassica juncea (B j) under three bicarbonate levels (5, 10 and 15 mm NaHCO3) were examined to determine the relationship among PN, PN' and fLA. PN', not PN, changed synchronously with fLA. Moreover, the proportions of exogenous bicarbonate and total bicarbonate (including exogenous bicarbonate and dissolved CO2-generated bicarbonate) utilised by Ov were 2.27 % and 5.28 % at 5 mm bicarbonate, 7.06 % and 13.28 % at 10 mm bicarbonate, and 8.55 % and 17.31% at 15 mm bicarbonate, respectively. Meanwhile, the propor- tions of exogenous bicarbonate and total bicarbonate uti- lised by Bj were 1.77 % and 3.28 % at 5 mm bicarbonate, 2.11% and 3.10 % at 10 mm bicarbonate, and 2.36 % and 3.09 % at 15 mm bicarbonate, respectively. Therefore, the dissolved CO2-generated bicarbonate and exogenous bicarbonate are important sources of inorganic carbon for plants. 展开更多

The reaction kinetics for the leaching of low-grade scheelite concentrate was investigated in an autoclave with sodium hydroxide in the presence of phosphate. The effects of stirring speed (300-600 r/min), reaction temperature (353-383 K), sodium hydroxide concentration (1.69-6.76 mol/L) and phosphate concentration (0.68-1.69 mol/L) on the WO3 dissolution ratio were studied. The results showed that the WO3 dissolution ratio was practically independent of stirring speed, while it increased with increasing the reaction temperature, and the concentrations of sodium hydroxide and phosphate. The experimental data were consistent with the shrinking core model, with a surface chemical reaction as the leaching rate-determining step. The apparent activation energy was calculated as 49.56 kJ/mol, and the reaction orders with respect to the concentrations of sodium hydroxide and phosphate were determined as 0.27 and 0.67, respectively. The precipitation performance and kinetics of gibbsite from sodium aluminate solution with different sodium oxalate concentrations as well as the corresponding influence mechanism of oxalate during the seed precipitation process were systematically investigated by physicochemical properties test,using SEM and Raman spectra.As the concentration of sodium oxalate increases,both the precipitation rate and particle size of gibbsite decrease.The presence of sodium oxalate not only increases the viscosity of sodium aluminate solution,but also promotes the transformation of Al(OH)4^? to Al2O(OH)6^2?.The overall reaction rate constant decreases and the apparent activation energy of gibbsite increases with the increasing sodium oxalate concentration,the rate controlling step of which is chemical reaction.The needle-like sodium oxalate precipitates on the gibbsite crystals and covers the active Al(OH)3 seed sites,which leads to the lower precipitation rate and the finer particle size of gibbsite during the seed precipitation process. 展开更多

Effect of lithium ion in sodium aluminate solution on precipitation rate,lithium content,morphology,and crystallization of alumina trihydrate(ATH) was investigated. Results showed that increasing lithium ion concentration in solution improved the precipitation rate and lithium content in ATH,whereas reduced the mass fraction of lithium precipitation from solution. Lithium ion in solution generated the fine ATH, and thereafter significantly increased the total particle number due to the preferential nucleation.Elevating temperature or reducing lithium ion concentration decreased lithium content in ATH and reduced the fine particle amount.Moreover, lithium ion in the solution changed the morphology of ATH by improving the growth of the(110) and(200) planes of gibbsite.A large amount of fine bar-or flake-shaped ATH attached on the coarse particles also benefited the secondary nucleation and led to the poor strength of alumina.All results will further contribute to improving the quality of alumina. 展开更多

The separation and recovery of V from chromium-containing vanadate solution were investigated by a cyclic metallurgical process including selective precipitation of vanadium,vanadium leaching and preparation of vanadium pentoxide.By adding Ca(OH)_(2) and ball milling,not only the V in the solution can be selectively precipitated,but also the leaching kinetics of the precipitate is significantly improved.The precipitation efficiency of V is 99.59%by adding Ca(OH)_(2) according to Ca/V molar ratio of 1.75:1 into chromium-containing vanadate solution and ball milling for 60 min at room temperature,while the content of Cr in the precipitate is 0.04%.The leaching rate of V reaches 99.35%by adding NaHCO_(3) into water according to NaHCO_(3)/V molar ratio of 2.74:1 to leach V from the precipitate with L/S ratio of 4:1 mL/g and stirring for 60 min at room temperature.The crystals of NH_(4)VO_(3) are obtained by adjusting the leaching solution pH to be 8.0 with CO2 and then adding NH_(4)HCO_(3) according to NH_(4)HCO_(3)/NaVO_(3) molar ratio of 1:1 and stirring for 8 h at room temperature.After filtration,the crystallized solution containing ammonia is reused to leach the precipitate of calcium vanadates,and the leaching efficiency of V is>99%after stirring for 1 h at room temperature.Finally,the product of V_(2)O_(5) with purity of 99.6%is obtained by calcining the crystals at 560℃ for 2 h. 展开更多

Ascaris lumbricoides is the largest intestinal nematode parasite of man,which can lead to various complications because of its mobility.As the esophagus is not normal habitat of Ascaris,the report of esophageal ascariasis is rare.An old female presented with dysphagia after an intake of several red bean buns and haw jellies.The barium meal examination revealed a spherical defect in the lower esophagus.Esophageal bezoar or esophageal carcinoma was considered at the beginning.The patient fasted,and received fluid replacement treatment as well as some oral drugs such as proton pump inhibitor and sodium bicarbonate.Then upper gastrointestinal endoscopy was done to further confirm the diagnosis and found a live Ascaris lumbricoides in the gastric antrum and two in the duodenal bulb.The conclusive diagnosis was ascariasis.The esophageal space-occupying lesion might be the entangled worm bolus.Anthelmitnic treatment with mebendazole improved patient's clinical manifestations along with normalization of the radiological findings during a 2-wk follow-up.Authors report herein this rare case of Ascaris lumbricoides in the esophagus,emphasizing the importance of awareness of this parasitic infection as it often presents with different and unspecific symptoms. 展开更多

Vanadates and vanadium oxides are potential lithium-ion electrode materials because of their easy preparation and high capacity properties.This paper reports the electrochemical lithium-storage performance of VO2 and NaV2O5 composite nanowire arrays.Firstly,Na5V12O32 nanowire arrays are fabricated by a hydrothermal method,and then VO2 and NaV2O5 composite nanowire arrays are prepared by a reduction reaction of Na5V12O32 nanowire arrays in hydrogen atmosphere.Crystal structure,chemical composition and morphology of the prepared samples are characterized in detail.The obtained composite is used as an electrode of a lithium-ion battery,which exhibits high reversible capacity and good cycle stability.The composite obtained at 500℃presents a specific discharge capacity up to 345.1 mA·h/g after 50 cycles at a current density of 30 mA/g. 展开更多

The salts considered are sodium and potassium hydrogen tartrates. There is no additional parameter of high order terms except for the Onsager's coefficient of limited term in the new equation. Results show a complex conductance of acidic tartrates in aqueous solution. The molar conductivities of metal ions are nearly constant such that the contributions from hydrogen and tartrate ions decrease with concentration, while the molar conductivity of bitartrate ion increases with concentration. 展开更多

Hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)precipitation from sodium aluminate(SA)solution at close-ambient temperature is an efficient method to synthesize boehmite and its derived alumina with high surface area,but the precipitation yield of Al2O3 is usually below 50%in highly alkaline SA solutions.Here the synthesis of boehmite is enhanced through a precarbonization-assisted H2O2 route in highly alkaline SA solutions.It is found that the crystal structure of the precipitation product is evidently influenced by the precipitation conditions.As the precipitation temperature increases from 273 to 325 K,a small amount of gibbsite by-product is formed.As the aging temperature increases from 301 to 333 K,the crystallinity of boehmite decreases and part of the boehmite dissolves due to an increase in the pH value.Based on the above results,a precarbonization-assisted H2O2 route is proposed to obtain pure boehmite with more complete recovery of Al2O3 from highly alkaline SA solutions.The route includes a controllable precarbonization step of SA solutions with a molar ratio of Na2O to Al2O3 higher than 2:1,followed by the H2O2-precipitated step with a molar ratio of H2O2 to Al2O3 less than 7:1.Because of its facile operation conditions,no extraneous impurity,time saving and a possible recycle of the filtrate,the route has great potential to be an alternative method for preparation of boehmite and its derived alumina. 展开更多

The ratio of nitrogen/phosphorus (N/P) is known to affect cell proliferation of some marine micro algae. We evaluated the effect of N/P ratios on the proliferation and succession of phytoplankton using five marine micro algae species. We used two sources of nitrogen, NH4Cl (N1) and urea (N2), and a single source of phosphorous, NaH2PO4(P). The optimal N/P ratio that differed among the five species was affected by the source of nitrogen, being as follows (N1/P, N2/P in order): Thalassiosira sp. (30/1, 20/1), Heterosigma akashiwo (30/1, 30/1), Chroornonas salina (20/1, 30/1), Chaetoceros gracilis (40/1, 60/1), and A lexandrium sp. (10/1, 30/1). Thus, the source of nitrogen must be considered when analyzing the N/P ratio. Our results provide insight for predicting phytoplankton succession in coastal waters and may be used to forecast the potential risk of harmful algal blooms. 展开更多
