The wear rate increases with increasing the load; the mild-to-severe wear transitions occur under the loads of 275 N at 25 °C, 150 N at 100 °C and 75 N at 200 °C, respectively. However, as the load is less than 50 N, the wear rate at 200 °C is lower than that at 25 °C or 100 °C. In mild wear regimes, the wear mechanisms can be classified into abrasive wear, oxidation wear and delamination wear. Delamination wear prevailed as the mild-to-severe wear transition starts to occur; the delamination occurs from the inside of matrix. Subsequently, plastic-extrusion wear as severe wear prevails accompanied with the transition. The thick and hard tribo-layer postpones the mild-to-severe wear transition due to restricting the occurrence of massive plastic deformation of worn surfaces.展开更多

A comparison in the electrical and microstructural properties of the samples obtained by both methods was made. The best results on these characteristics were achieved through the high-energy ball milling varistor ceramic powder route, obtaining a nonlinear coefficient of 57 and a breakdown field of 617 V/mm at a sintering temperature of 1000 ℃ for 3 h. The samples synthesized by this technique show not only high density value, 95% of the theoretical density, but also a homogeneous microstructure, which compete with those obtained by the high-energy ball milling oxide-doped powder route. With the advantage that the high-energy ball milling varistor ceramic powder route can refine grain, increase the driving force of sintering, accelerate the sintering process, and reduce the sintering temperature.展开更多

In co-precipitation process, the effects of reaction conditions on iron recovery were studied, and the optimal reaction parameters are proposed as follows: n(CaO)/n(Fe2+) 1.4:1, reaction temperature 80 ℃, ferrous ion concentration 0.4 mol/L, and the final mole ratio of Fe3+ to FJ+ in the reaction solution 1.9-2.1. In magnetic separation process, the effects of milling time and magnetic induction intensity on iron recovery were investigated. Wet milling played an important part in breaking the encapsulated magnetic phases. The results showed that the mixed product was wet-milled for 20 min before magnetic separation, the grade and recovery rate of iron in magnetite concentrate were increased from 51.41% and 84.15% to 62.05% and 85.35%, respectively.展开更多

Additionally, the kinetics of bismuth subcarbonate preparation was studied. Effects of reaction temperature, particle size of bismuth oxide, solid-to-liquid ratio and concentrations of ammonium bicarbonate on the conversion rate of bismuth oxide were studied. The results indicate that the conversion rate of bismuth oxide significantly increased under the conditions of higher temperature, smaller particle size, higher concentration of ammonium bicarbonate and smaller solid-to-liquid ratio. The XRD and ICP-AES analyses show that the purity of product is high. The reaction kinetics with activation energy of 9.783 kJ/mol was analyzed by shrinking core model, and the whole transformation process is controlled by solid product layer diffusion. A semi-empirical kinetics equation was obtained to describe the conversion process.展开更多

Different concentrations of 2, 16 and 24 g/L NaAlO2 solutions and a silicate electrolyte (for comparison) were employed for the investigation. Wear performance and corrosion resistance of the coatings were evaluated by WC (tungsten carbide) ball-on-flat dry sliding tests and electrochemical methods, respectively. The results show that the coating formed for a short duration of 480 s in 24 g/L NaAlO2 solution generated the best protection. The coating sustained 30 N load for sliding time of 1800 s, showing very low wear rate of -4.5×10^-7 mm3/(N· m). A low corrosion current density of -8.81×10^-9 A/cm2 was also recorded. Despite low α-Al2O3 content of the coating, the compact and nearly single layer nature of the coating guaranteed the excellent performances.展开更多
