Methods Contents of fatty acids, amino acids and trace elements were determined by GC/MS, HPLC and ICP-AES. Results H. manillensis contained sixteen fatty acids, among which the percentage of unsaturated fatty acids is 34.05%. The eighteen amino acids were detected, which included eight essential amino acids in human body with a ratio of 33.53 %. There were eight trace elements (Ca, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, V and Zn) from H. manillensis, and the content of Ca, Zn and Fe were apparently higher than those of other elements. Conclusion These methods are simple and accurate. This study reports routine quantitative methods for the analysis of multiple components in H. manillensis by GC/MS, HPLC and ICP-AES. 展开更多

AIML To investigate the effect and mechanism of action of the nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibitor NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) on invasion and metastasis of human colorectal cancer cell line SL-174T. METHODS: Human colorectal cancer cel4 line SL-174T was cultured and treated separately with four different dosages of L-NAME for 72 h, Nitric oxide (NO) production was measured with Griess reagent, The effect of L-NAME on invasion and migration of SL-174T cells were evaluated by using Transwell chambers attached with polycarbonate filters and reconstituted basement membrane (Matrigel), RT-PCR was performed to determine the mRNA levels of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and tissue inhibitor metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2),RESULTS: L-NAME could significantly inhibit NO production of SL-174T in a dose-dependent manner. After being treated for 72 h with 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, and 1.0 mmol/L L- NAME, respectively, the ability of the L-NAME treated SL- 174T cells to invade the reconstituted basement membrane decreased significantly (t = 8.056, P〈0.05; t= 14.467, P〈0.01; t= 27.785, P〈0.01; and t= 29.405, P〈0.01, respectively) and the inhibition rates were 10.29%, 19.62%, 34.08%, and 42.23%, respectively. Moreover, L-NAME could inhibit migration of SL-174T cells, and the inhibition rates were 20.76%, 24.95%, 39.43%, and 46. 85% for L-NAME at 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, and 1.0 mmol/L, respectively (t = 15.116, P〈0.01). In addition, after treatment with L-NAME, expression of MMP-2 mRNA was significantly decreased (t = 71.238, P〈0.01) and that of TIMP-2 mRNA was markedly increased (t = -13.020, P〈0.01). CONCLUSION: L-NAME exerts anti-invasive and anti- metastatic effects on SL-174T cell line via downregulating MNP-2 mRNA expression and upregulating TIMP-2 mRNA expression. 展开更多

Monthly difference of the chemical composition of oyster cultured along the eastern coast of Shandong Province was analyzed. The components analyzed included glycogen, fatty acid and free amino acid (FAA). The content of glycogen was high in January and March (2.89 and 2.82 g(100 g) ^-1 on average, respectively) and low in October (2.07g(100g)^- 1 on average). The low content of neutral lipids in October reflected a relatively poor nutritional value of oyster (1.42 g( 100 g)^- 1 on average). The main fatty acids of oyster were palmitic acid (16:0), oleic acid (18: 1), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, 20: 5(0 3) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, 22:6(0 3). The major FAAs of oyster were Taurine, Glutamicacid, Glycin, Alanine, Arginine and Proline. Taurine was the most abundant FAA with its content ranging from 603 mg(100 g) ^-1 to 1 139 mg( 100 g) ^-1. The high contents of glycogen, polyunsaturated fatty acid and FAA showed that oyster cultured along the eastern coast of Shandong Province was nutritionally good in January and March. 展开更多

In this study, the proximate composition and the amino and fatty acid profiles of shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei (prey) and wild and cultured cuttlefish Sepiapharaonis (the latter fed the prey) were determined and compared with FAO/WHO recommendations. The resulting scores for isoleucine, phenylalanine+tyrosine, histidine, lysine, threonine, and tryptophan in cultured cuttlefish were 〉150. The ratio of EAA (essential amino acids)/nonessential amino acids in cultured cuttlefish (0.82) was higher than in the wild form (0.80). All EAA amino acid scores for cultured cuttlefish were higher than their wild counterparts, except for histidine and tryptophan. Both groups of cuttlefish possessed similar saturated fatty acid content, with the cultured containing much more total (E) monounsaturated fatty acids, E n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), and eicosapentaenoic acid (C20:5 n-3) but less E n-3 PUFA, arachidonic acid (C20:4 n-6), and docosahexaenoic acid (C22:6 n-3) than their wild counterparts. Therefore, the present results suggest that these cultured cuttlefish were better than the wild form for human health. Notably, these results also indicate that the nutritional composition of these cuttlefish might have been significantly affected by diet. 展开更多

To study on the recovery of PAP, an experimental comparison of the ads... p-Aminophenol (PAP), a typical amphoteric compound, has been widely used as raw chemical material and important interrnediate in various fields. To study on the recovery of PAP, an experimental comparison of the adsorption and desorption properties of PAP onto three types of hyper-cross-linked resins in aqueous solutions was performed. This paper focuses on the static equilibrium adsorption and desorption behaviors, the adsorption thermodynamics, the column dynamic adsorption and desorption, and other influencing factors of adsorption, such as temperature and pH values. All the isothermal data fit well to the Freundlich model. The capacity of equilibrium adsorption for PAP on NG-10 is the highest within the temperature range 288K-318K, which may greatly contribute to the advantage in specific surface area, especially the micropore area, of the adsorbent. While in the desorption experiments, NG-9 achieved relative well regeneration efficiency whether by ethanol or by 4% hydrochloric acid. Furthermore, the results of column tests and field applications were also proved that NG-9 was an effective sorbent for the reclamation PAP from wastewater. 展开更多

The oligomers were evaluated as resins for water-based UV curable coating. The rheology of the two oligomers' aqueous so-lutions was investigated in terms of solid fraction, pH dependence, and temperature dependence. The solutions were found to be Newtonian fluid showing rather low viscosity even at high solid fraction of 0.55. The drying process of the coatings and the properties of the cured coatings were studied by comparing them with water-dispersed UV-curable polyurethane methyl acrylate. It was evident that the water-soluble coating dried more slowly; and that the overall properties were inferior to those of the water-dispersed coating. 展开更多
