Effect of N Fertilization on Yield, N Absorption and Utilization of Two Species of Super High-Yielding Summer Maize 被引量:6

[Objective] The aim was to study on effects of N fertilizer on yield, N absorption and utilization of different cultivars of super high-yielding summer maize, in order to provide reference for reasonable N fertilization in accordance with different cultivars. [Method] Field experiment was conducted to study on effects of different N fertilizers on yield, N absorption and use efficiency of Zhengdan 958 and Xundan 20, in order to learn the effect differences at different N fertilizer levels. [Result] After N was applied, yields of the two summer maize increased significantly. Zhengdan 958 achieved the highest in yield and proceeds at 12 051.18 kg/hm2 and 1 722.40 yuan/hm2, respectively in low N level. In contrast, Xundan 20 achieved the highest at 13 166.00 kg/hm2 and 1 343.92 yuan/hm2 in the above two aspects in high N level. Compared with Zhengdan 958, Xundan 20 increased by 9.90%, 5.20% and 12.00% in N levels of 0, 240, and 450 kg/hm2, respectively. When N fertilizers were applied, protein yield of Xundan 20 was significantly higher than that of Zhengdan 958, so that higher N fertilizers contributed higher protein yield for Xundan 20. In high N level, N efficiency, N-fertilizer utilization and partial productivity of Xundan 20 were significantly higher than that of Zhengdan 958. [Conclusion] Lower N-fertilizer was suitable for Zhengdan 958 and Xundan 20 would get a good harvest if more N-fertilizers were applied. [Objective] The aim of this study was investigated the rice yield, nitrogen uptake and ^15-fertilizer fate at different transplanting density to provide scientific ba- sis for improving the yield of rice and applying reasonably fertilizer. [Method] A field experiment was carried out to study the effect of different transplanting density on rice yield, nitrogen (N) absorption, sources of N uptake by rice and the N balance in the plant-soil systems by using ^15-labelled urea. [Result] There were no significant differences in rice yields and total N uptakes by rice between treatments 30 cm × 30 cm and 40 cm × 40 cm, but the yield of rice and total N absorption in the two treatments were remarkably higher than those in 50 cm × 50 cm treatment. The amounts of total N uptake by rice were in the range of 112.3-162.7 kg/hm2 in the three transplanting densities. The result showed that about 1/3 of the total N uptake by rice was supplied by application fertilizer and the other 2/3 was obtained from the soil N pool. The ^15N-labelled urea absorbed by rice, residual in soil and lost accounted for 16.3%-26.1%, 17.0%-20.9% and 53.0%-66.7% of the total fertilizer, respectively. A great deal of ^15N-labelled urea was lost during the rice growing season. [Conclusion] Considering the rice yield and environmental protection, the transplanting density of 30 cm×30 cm was recommended in the hilly area of Sichuan basin in the southwest China. 展开更多

[Objective] The aim of this study was to understand the difference of N fertilizer requirement between hybrid rapeseed and conventional rapeseed. [Method] Two hybrid cultivars, ZY5628 and ZY7819, and the conventional cultivar ZS10, were compared through two field experiments. In Experiment 1, seed yield and optimum N application rate were assessed in the field with five N application treatments. In Expedment 2, N was applied uniformly at 180 kg/hm2, and plant biomass and N accumulation were measured at several developmental stages, while N use efficien- cy was calculated for rape at maturity. [Results] The experiment 1 results showed that seed yields of ZY5628 and ZY7819 were both significantly higher than that of ZS10, and compared to ZS10, optimum yield (plateau yield) was higher by 18.7% and 20.2%, while the recommended N application rate was lower by 9.5% and 9.6% for ZY5628 and ZY7819, respectively. The experiment 2 results showed that during vegetative development, all three cultivars exhibited similar accumulations of plant biomass and N, but through flowering and maturity ZY5628 and ZY7819 pro- duced more biomass, acquired more N, and utilized acquired N more efficiently to- wards seed production than ZS10. [Conclusion] With equivalent inputs, the hybrid rapeseed cultivars ZY5628 and ZY7819 tested herein yield more seed with higher N use efficiency than the conventional rapeseed ZS10. This information will be valu- able for growers seeking to improve efficiency while reducing costs of rape production in China. 展开更多

Effects of Silicon Levels on Rice Grain Yield and Its Nitrogen Absorption

Pot experiments were conducted to investigate the influence of Si fertilizer on yield and N-uptake and use efficiency of double-season rice under the conditions of equal nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium nutrients. The results showed that along with the increase of Si fertilizer application, the yield of early and late rice increased firstly and then decreased within the range of SiO2 application rate of 0-0.8 g/kg soil. There was a significant parabolic correlation between the amounts of Si fertilizer application and rice grain yield (r= 0.931 2 and r= 0.973 3 in early-and late-rice season, respectively). Results showed that efficient Si fertilizer application enchanced N contents in different plant components of early rice at maturity stages with increased nitrogen uptake of double cropping rice and nitrogen harvest index of late rice. 展开更多

Release Characteristics of Release-controlled Nitrogen Fertilizer in Winter Wheat on Dry Land

[method] With phosphorus-potassium fertilization and opti- mized fertilization (OPT) as the control, the release characteristics of 4 kinds of re- lease-controlled nitrogen fertilizers (A, B, C and D) coated with different materials were studied. [Result] Under the same phosphorus and potassium levels, the re- lease-controlled nitrogen fertilizers A and B significantly improved the yield of wheat. Spike number is the main reason leading to the difference in yield. The fertilizers A and B were released by 44.4% and 46.3% before winter, released by 72.1% and 69.8% at the jointing stage, and related by 88.0% and 91.5% in the harvest period, meeting the nitrogen requirement of dryland wheat across the growth period. Com- pared with OPT, the nitrogen accumulation amounts in treatments A and B were increased by 1.39 and 2.09 kg/667 m2, the nitrogen use efficiencies were increased by 8.66% and 13.04%, and the nitrogen partial factor productivities were increased by 9.00 and 7.22 kg/kg, respectively. [Conclusion] Among the 4 kinds of fertilizers, A and B were considered as the optimum release-controlled nitrogen fertilizers for winter wheat on dry land. 展开更多

This study aimed to comprehensive evaluation of different winter green manure on characterization of nitrogen uptake and utilization, to provide the basis for N fertilizer reasonable operation and characteristics improvement of nitrogen nutrition in rice high-yield cultivation. This experiment was set to compare milk vetch, rapeseed,ryegrass and mixed of green manure on rice yield, rice growth dynamics and nitrogen uptake and utilization in rice. The results showed that among 4 different winter green manure, the treatment of MV-R-R(milk vetch-rice-rice) for the early rice yield was the most than others treatments. Compared with RG-R-R(ryegrass-rice-rice), RPR-R(rapeseed-rice-rice), MS-R-R(mixed green manure-rice-rice), the treatment of MVR-R inceased by 6.61%, 3.29%, 0.78%, respectively. The treatment of MV-R-R in N content in plant of rice was maximized in the tillering, booting, heading and maturity periods, respectively higher than the average of other treatments 9.68%, 19.72%,6.23% and 8.66%. At tillering, booting, heading and maturity, the treatment of MV-R-R were the highest in N uptake, RP-R-R minimum. The N periodic accumulation for MV-R-R were higher than other treatments in the tillering to booting, booting to heading and heading to maturity periods. The rates respectively were 21.81%, 68.73% and286.5%. In addition, N periodic accumulation and its ratio to total in the heading to maturity was minimum, maximum before tillering under green manure rotation system.So the cropping system of milk vetch-rice-rice could increase nitrogen use efficiency and improve N cycling. 展开更多

[Method] Three supplemental irrigation levels were set based on the target soil contents of 60%, 70% and 80%) at jointing stage of wheat. Moreover, three nitrogen levels (0, 195 and 255 kg/hm^2) were designed. The experimental plots were arranged fol owing a split-plot design. Zhoumai 18 was selected as the experimental material. [Result] Supplemental irrigation and nitrogen application in combination had significant or extremely significant effects on yield, yield components and nitrogen uptake in winter wheat. The interaction between irrigation and nitrogen fertilization had significant or extremely significant influence on the number of ears, number of grains per ear, 1 000-grain weight, grain yield and nitrogen accumulation in winter wheat. Under different combinations of supplemental irrigation and nitrogen application, the maximum yield of winter wheat was obtained at W2 N195, while the minimum at W1 N255. [Conclusion] With the increase of irrigation, negative effect of nitrogen on number of ears, number of grains per ear, 1 000-grain weight, grain yield and nitrogen accumulation decrease under lower nitrogen application rate. 展开更多

Fate of urea nitrogen (N) applied to rape grown on a red soil was investigated by the  ̄(15)N mass balancetechnique, and efficiency of urea and effect of nutrients balance in raising rape yield were investigated ina field plot experiment. One hundred and thirty-eight kg N/ha, 86 kg N/ha as basal dressing and 52 kgN/ha as top dressing, was applied with band application technique. The experiment was conducted in thesoutheast of China, near Yingtan City, Jianxi Province.Results from is ̄(15)N mass balance study showed that when urea was applied as basal dressing the plantrecovery was 44.0% of the applied N for Theatment T (with application of N, P, K, B and lime). Plantrecoveries were 38.0%-40.5% for Treatments -K, -B, -lime and +RS (without application of K, B or limeas well as with additional rice straw compared with Theatment T), which were not significantly differentfrom Treatment T. In contrast, plant recovery was only 5.1% for Treatment-P (without application of P),indicating that P was the factor limiting N uptake by rape. However, N remaining in 0-0.30 m soil was highup to 71.6% for Theatment -P, while the corresponding data were 33.0%-42.6% for the other treatments.The total recovery of applied N (including plant recovery and N remaining in 0-0.60 m soil) was 91.5% forTreatment T when urea was applied as basal dressing, while almost all the applied N was recovered when ureawas applied as top dressing. It was suggested that N loss was greatly controlled by using band applicationmethod in this experiment.Results from the field plot experiment showed that N supply capacity of this red soil was very low, andthe efficiency of the applied N was quite high, 7.1 kg rape seed was increased by application of one kg N forTreatmentT. Nitrogen and phosphorus were the key factors limiting rape yield, and the yield was very lowwhen neither of them was applied. The yield in TreatmentK was significantly lower than that in TYeatmentT, with the former accounting for 77% of the later. 展开更多

A pot experiment combined with15N isotope techniques was conducted to evaluate effects of the varying rates of urea-N fertilizer application on yields,quality,and nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) of pakchoi cabbage (Brassica chinensis L.) and asparagus lettuce (Lactuca saiva L.).15N-labbled urea (5.3515N atom %) was added to pots with 6.5 kg soil of 0.14,0.18,0.21,0.25,and 0.29 g N/kg soil,and applied in two splits:60 percent as basal dressing in the mixture and 40 percent as topdressing.The fresh yields of two vegetable species increased with the increasing input of urea-N,but there was a significant quadratic relationship between the dose of urea-N fertilizer application and the fresh yields.When the dosage of urea-N fertilizer reached a certain value,nitrate readily accumulated in the two kinds of plants due to the decrease in NR activity; furthermore,there was a linear negative correlation between nitrate content and NR activity.With the increasing input of urea-N,ascorbic acid and soluble sugar initially increased,declined after a while,and crude fiber rapidly decreased too.Total absorbed N (TAN),N derived from fertilizer (Ndff),and N derived from soil (Ndfs) increased,and the ratio of Ndff and TAN also increased,but the ratio of Ndfs and TAN as well as NUE of urea-N fertilizer decreased with the increasing input of urea-N.These results suggested that the increasing application of labeled N fertilizer led to the increase in unlabeled N (namely,Ndfs) presumably due to "added nitrogen interaction" (ANI),the decease in NUE of urea-N fertilizer may be due to excess fertilization beyond the levels of plant requirements and the ANI,and the decrease in the two vegetable yields with the increasing addition of urea-N possibly because the excess accumulation of nitrate reached a toxic level. 展开更多

A 15-year field experiment was carried out in Henan Province, China, to study the effects of different fertilization practices on yield of a wheat-maize rotation. Fertilizers tested contained N alone (N), N plus P (NP) or plus P and K (NPK), all with or without manure (M). Different long-term fertilization practices affected the yields under the rotation system of wheat and maize differently and the effects on yields was in a general trend of MNPK>MNP>MN>NPK>NP>M>N>the control. The average contribution rate of soil fertility to the highest yield was 37.9%, and the rest 62.1% came from fertilizer applications. The yield effects of the chemical fertilizers were in the order of N>P>K and were increased by application of manure.Balanced fertilization with multielement chemical fertilizers and manure can be effective in maintaining growth in agricultural production. Combined application of chemical fertilizer and organic manure also increased the content of soil organic matter. 展开更多

Efficient use of N in agricultural practice can increase yield, decrease production costs and reduce the risk of environmental pollution. Effects of N fertilizer application rates on grain yield and physiological N use efficiency (PE) in relation to the accumulation and redistribution of biomass and N in rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivars were studied at two experimental farms of Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing, China in 2004. Three high N use efficiency (NUE) rice cultivars (Wuyunjing 7, Nanguang and 4007) and one low NUE rice cultivar (Elio) with similar growth patterns were studied under seven N rates (0, 60, 120, 180, 240, 300 and 360 kg ha -1 ). Grain yield increased with the N application rate and attained plateau at 180 kg N ha -1 for rice cultivars at each site. Increasing N rate decreased PE for biomass and grain yield. Grain yield and PE of Elio were about 20% and 18% lower than those of high NUE cultivars. Differences in biomass, N accumulation and N redistribution were observed at the post-heading stage among rice cultivars with differing NUEs. The less reproductive tillers of Elio resulted in less demand for C and N during grain filling, thus leading to lower PE of Elio compared with the high NUE rice cultivars. 展开更多

Inorganic fertilizer NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) (S) 25:5:5:5 is generally recommended for optimum yield and quality of tea (Camellia sinensis). Non-judicious use of this inorganic fertilizer however acidifies the soils and pollutes the environment. Integrated soil fertility management (ISFM) which involves the combined use of organic and inorganic fertilizer is recommended for improved crop yield and soil health. An experiment was carried out to determine the effect of enriching cattle manure with different ratios of inorganic fertilizers (OM: NPKS at ratios 1:2 and 1:4), and rates on soil nutrient status, nitrogen uptake and yield of tea in the east of Rift Valley, Kenya. Enriching manures and organic manure up to a rate of 150 kg N/ha increased the level of P mature leaf. A higher N and K level in the mature leaf was observed when NPKS was applied at higher rates. In the soil, fertilizer rate up to 150 kg N/ha showed higher pH and K where organic manure and enriched manures were applied while NPKS treatment showed higher P content throughout the soil depths. Enriching organic manures with inorganic fertilizers increased yield significantly. 展开更多

Field experiments were conducted during 2008-2010 to investigate the ef- fects of NPK fertilization on seed yield and economic benefit of a new hybrid cultivar of winter oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) - Xiangzayou763, and to determine the optimum NPK ratio and dose in Hunan, China. The results showed that NPK ratio (1:0.50:0.50) with 180 kg/hm2 N, 90 kg/hm2 P2O5 and 90 kg/hm2 K20 was the optimum combination for the highest seed yield (2 231.13 kg/hm2) and economic benefit (9 816.97 Yuan/hm2), of which 1 641.23 Yuan/hm2 being set for fertilizer in- vestment (VCR=4.11). Besides, the effects of N, P and K fertilizers on seed yield and oil production of winter oilseed rape were not identical. N had the greatest ef- fect on plant growth of winter oilseed rape, followed by P and K. Total leaf number, green leaf number, leaf length and width, rhizome diameter, branch number, dry weight per plant and other agronomic characters in high N treatments were higher than those in low N treatments. By correlation and path analysis of yield components, the contribution rate to seed yield was found: effective silique number per plant〉seed number per silique〉l 000-seed weight. 展开更多

In order to investigate effects of topdressing on grain yield and N use efficiency of mechanically-transplanted hybrid rice, this experiment was conducted with 2-line hybrid rice cultivars, Quaniiangyou 1 and Quanliangyou 681 with 3 application levels of N fertilizer, No, N1, N2, respectively. The results showed that there were no significant differences in grain yields of the 2 varieties between treatments N1 and N2. It was indicated that N is not the factor which could limit grain yield within limited application levels of N fertilizer. High N fertilizer treatment could contribute to the formation of effective panicles and spikelets per panicle, but it could also lead to the decline in grain filling rate. It was suggested that lowering the amount of Nfertilizer could facilitate improvement of N-use efficiency. 展开更多

Due to the relatively late start of organic rice(Oryza sativa L.) research in China,there is a still lack of systematic research on rice varieties,organic fertilizer management practices,and especially the mechanisms of nitrogen(N) uptake and utilization.Three rice varieties,Nanjing 5055,Nanjing 9108,and Nanjing 46,were grown under organic farming(OF) at three organic fertilizer levels(103.2,160.8,and 218.4 kg N ha^(-1)) and conventional farming(CF) with regular chemical fertilizers.Rice grain yields,yield components,and quality,dry matter accumulation,and plant N were measured at different growth stages during the 2012 and 2013 growing seasons.Compared with CF,OF had a significantly reduced yield.Nanjing 9108 showed significant reductions in number of panicles per unit area and percentage of filled grains,and had the lowest yield.The effects of fertilizer type and application rate on dry matter accumulation during the main growth periods were significant for all varieties.The N content and uptake in organically grown rice were lower compared with those of rice under CF.The N recovery efficiency and N agronomic efficiency were significantly lower,whereas N physiological efficiency and N partial factor productivity were greater under OF than under CF.Under OF,the processing quality showed a slight but insignificant decline,protein content and gel consistency increased,and amylose content decreased compared with those under CF.Correlation analysis showed that under OF,grain yield was significantly correlated with N uptake.The medium organic fertilizer level(160.8 kg N ha^(-1)) was found to be the optimum fertilizer treatment,and Nanjing 46 appeared to be the best variety for organic rice cultivation.To increase rice grain yields and reduce the potential risk of non-point source pollution in organic agriculture,further research is needed to improve the N use efficiency in organic rice cultivation. 展开更多
