In order to further simulate the real condition of pavements during the service life,moisture is considered in long-term aging tests based on the existing researches about thermal aging and oxidation aging of asphalt....In order to further simulate the real condition of pavements during the service life,moisture is considered in long-term aging tests based on the existing researches about thermal aging and oxidation aging of asphalt.Water is injected into the pressure aging vessel(PAV)to simulate the aging process during the service life.The performance-based strategic highway research program(SHRP)parameters G/sinδ and S(t)are adopted to evaluate the high-temperature properties and low-temperature properties of the aged asphalt,respectively.The Thailand 90# asphalt,the modified Thailand 90# asphalt and the Shell 70# asphalt are used in the test.It is found that the moisture has a significant influence on parameter G/sinδ when combined with heat and oxygen,so water aging makes high-temperature performance decay more seriously.But the low-temperature performance does not change remarkably after water aging.Since the influences of temperature,oxygen and water are taken into account in the PAV test,the accuracy of asphalt aging tests can be improved and the long-term aging process of asphalt pavement can be exactly simulated.展开更多
Based on the sensitivity of geophysical response to gas hydrates contained in sediments, we studied the prediction of gas hydrates with seismic techniques, including seismic attributes analysis, AVO, inverted velocity...Based on the sensitivity of geophysical response to gas hydrates contained in sediments, we studied the prediction of gas hydrates with seismic techniques, including seismic attributes analysis, AVO, inverted velocity field construction for dipping formations, and pseudo-well constrained impedance inversion. We used an optimal integration of geophysical techniques results in a set of reliable and effective workflows to predict gas hydrates. The results show that the integrated analysis of the combination of reflectivity amplitude, instantaneous phase, interval velocity, relative impedance, absolute impedance, and AVO intercept is a valid combination of techniques for identifying the BSR (Bottom Simulated Reflector) from the lower boundary of the gas hydrates. Integration of seismic sections, relative and absolute impedance sections, and interval velocity sections can improve the validity of gas hydrates determination. The combination of instantaneous frequency, energy half attenuation time, interval velocity, AVO intercept, AVO product, and AVO fluid factor accurately locates the escaped gas beneath the BSR. With these conclusions, the combined techniques have been used to successfully predict the gas hydrates in the Dongsha Sea area.展开更多

The volume variable cluster model method was used to calculate isotope fractionation factors of sphalerite, smithsonite, calcite, anorthite, for- sterite, and enstatite. The water-droplet method was used to calculate Zn isotope fractionation factors of Zn^2+-bearing aqueous species; their reduced partition function ratio factors decreased in the order [Zn(H2O)6]^2+ 〉 [ZnCl(H2O)5]^ + 〉 [ZnCl2(H2O)4] 〉 [ZnCl3(H20)2]^-〉 ZnCl4]^2-. Gas- eous ZnCl2 was also calculated for vaporization processes. Kinetic isotope fractionation of diffusional processes in a vacuum was directly calculated using formulas provided by Richter and co-workers. Our calculations show that in addition to the kinetic isotope effect of diffusional processes, equilibrium isotope fractionation also contributed nontriv- ially to observed Zn isotope fractionation of vaporization processes. The calculated net Zn isotope fractionation of vaporization processes was 7-7.5‰, with ZnCl2 as the gas- eous species. This matches experimental observations of the range of Zn isotope distribution of lunar samples. Therefore, vaporization processes may be the cause of the large distri- bution of Zn isotope signals found on the Moon. However, we cannot further distinguish the origin of such vaporization processes; it might be due either to igneous rock melting inmeteorite bombardments or to a giant impact event. METHODS: Ascitic leptin, TNFα and serum leptin levels were measured in 77 patients with ascites (35 with malignancies, 30 cirrhosis and 12 tuberculosis). Control serum samples were obtained from 20 healthy subjects. Leptin and TNFα levels were measured by EUSA. Body mass index (BMI) and percentage of body fat (BFM) by skin fold measurement were calculated for all patients and control groups. Peritoneal biopsy, ascites cytology and cultures or biochemical values were used for the diagnosis of patients. RESULTS: In patients with malignancies, the mean serum and ascites leptin levels and their ratios were significantly decreased compared to the other patient groups and controls. In tuberculosis peritonitis, ascitic fluid TNFα levels were significantly higher than malignant ascites and cirrhotic sterile ascites. BMI and BFM values did not distinguish between patients and controls. CONCLUSION: In patients with malignant ascites, levels of leptin and TNFα were significantly lower than in patients with tuberculous ascites.展开更多
