The result shows that the populations of the heterotrophic bacteria are heavier in summer and autumn than those in winter and spring. The average populations in seawater, sediment, the surface of seaweed and the surface of fish are 1.4×10 4 cfu mL -1, 5.4×10 6 cfu g -1, 1.5×10 6 cfu g -1 and 1.8×10 3 cfu cm -2, respectively. A total of 301 strains were isolated, among them 259 were Gram-negative. All the Gram-negative bacteria belong to 13 genera and some genera of Enterobacteriaceae. The communities of bacteria are slightly different among the samples. In the body surface of fish, Genus vibrio is dominant. In the remaining samples, dominant genus is Aeromonas.展开更多

Monitoring their kinetics in the chain of seafood production, processing and consumption is of great importance for food and mariculture safety. In order to enrich Vibrio-representing 16S ribosomal RNA gene (rDNA) fragments and identify these bacteria further real-timely and synchronously among bacterial flora in the chain, a pair of primers that selectively amplify Vibrio 16S rDNA fragments were designed with their specificities and coverage testified in the analysis of seawater Vibrio community. The specificities and coverage of two primers, VF169 and VR744, were determined theoretically among bacterial 16S rDNAs available in GenBank by using BLAST program and practically by amplifying Vibrio 16S rDNA fragments from seawater DNA. More than 88.3% of sequences in GenBank, which showed identical matches with VR744, belong to Vibrio genus. A total of 33 clones were randomly selected and sequenced. All of the sequences showed their highest similarities to and clustered around those of diverse known Vibrio species. The primers designed are capable of retrieving a wide range of Vibrio 16S rDNA fragments specifically among bacterial flora in seawater, the most important natural environment of seafood cultivation.展开更多

There were three replicates for each treatment. The growth of heterotrophic bacteria and pathogenic microorganisms like Aeromonas sp. and Pseudomonas sp. were also examined in response to pond management. Values of dissolved oxygen were significantly higher (P〈0.05) in the water of LF ponds, compared to other treatments, while the PM and CD treatments recorded were significantly higher (P〈0.05) values of PO4 - P, NH4 - N, NO3 - N, NO2 - N, specific conductivity, alkalinity, and BOD, compared to the LF and C treatments. The percentages of organic carbon and total nitrogen in the bottom sediments were higher in the PM and CD treatments compared to LF (P〈0.05). Average counts of heterotrophic bacteria in the water of PM and CD ponds were significantly higher than other treatments (P〈0.05). The development of Aeromonas sp. and Pseudomonas sp. were significantly higher (P〈0.05) in the PM and CD treatments. Weight gain of koi carp stocked in LF was significantly higher (P〈0.05) than that of fish in the other treatments. There was a significant difference in the survival rate of koi carp among the treatments ranging from 67.21% in C to 90.11% in LF. The results suggest that raising koi carp larvae in ponds and feeding them exogenously with zooplankton would support high rates of survival and production through maintenance of better water quality and greater abundance of zooplankton in the system. Significantly lower abundance of Aeromonas sp. and Pseudomonas sp. in the LF treatment considerably lowered any possibility of occurrence of bacterial disease.展开更多

Depending on the quality of its source, water will almost certainly have to be treated to make it safe to drink. All water supplies for human consumption must be well stored, free from micro-organisms, parasites and any substances that endanger public health if found in sufficient numbers or concentrations, in the same time. In our continued effort for a better result in our study of qualitative aspects, by physicochemical and bacteriological analysis, the authors focus in two crucial questions: a) is the water quality of Sidi-bel-Abbes good or bad ,and well stored? b) is the people of Sidi-bel-Abbes are aware of the importance of water and knowledgeable about how to use this vital? This study is the first to use data from I real work based upon a developed method and a good investigation to know exactly if water of Sidi-Bel-Abbes is safely treated, well stored and consumed in resemble way. In first, the authors plotted the method in analysing the qualitative aspect of water using developed material for a precise result starting by the distribution connection (condition and management) and the verification of water tank storage and finishing by analyzing the all the aspect of water (physicochemical and bacteriological analysis). In second, the authors focus on the way that people of Sidi Bel Abbes used and consumption water by introducing a targeted method (questionnaires) which help us a lot to know precisely the way, time and the real quantity of water consumed daily. In final step of our study of qualitative aspects, by physico-chemical and bacteriological, and environmental analyses, investigation processed by PCA (principal component analysis) of the drinking water supplied to Sidi Bel Abbes city (Algeria north-west) concluded by an encouraging result, that despite the various constraints faced by the departments concerned, they ensure the supply of safe drinking water in households almost daily.展开更多

The species richness and abundance of bacterial subgroups are generally distinct from each other, and this is attributed to their different functions in aquatic ecosystems. The spatiotemporal variations of eight phylogenetic subgroups (Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Cyanobacteria, Firmicutes, Planctomycetes, alpha-, beta-, and gamma-Proteobacteria) derived from Donghu Lake were investigated using PCR-DGGE fingerprinting, to explore their responses to environmental factors. Results indicate that Actinobacteria and beta-Proteobacteria were the two largest bacterial subgroups detected. These two groups and Bacteroidetes showed clear seasonal patterns in composition of the operational taxonomic unit. Results also suggest that the bacterioplankton subgroups in Donghu Lake were significantly correlated with different environmental factors. In brief, the total nitrogen was one of the major factors regulating all the bacterioplankton except for Actinobacteria. However, total phosphorus, another important eutrophication factor, contributed to the two largest bacterial groups (Actinobacteria and beta-Proteobacteria), as well as to the Cyanobacteria and Firmicutes. Therefore, the responses of bacterioplankton subgroups to environmental factors were different, and this should be attributed to the differences in the fimctions of different groups.展开更多

This study has been done on the basis of monitoring aspect such as pH, content ammonium, nitrate, nitrite and chloride from a physico chemical point of view. This study allowed the chemical and bacteriological analysis of samples, based on the result obtained, and the potability of water was defined. The bacteriological analysis was carried out taking account of the total flora, coliforms and Escherichia coll. This work gave rise to analyze 36 samples of water from wells, eight samples of drilling water and nine samples of water taps from municipalities such as Mamou, Dalaba and Pita. Water wells represent 90% of water supplies in drinking water to the population. In this research, collection of samples was very important. This study shows that 16 samples from 52 are potable, therefore, it is urgent to focus on the treatment of sewage in order to ensure better health for the population from administrative region of Mamou.展开更多
