The conditions and de...Pavement performance and economic efficiency are researched on the perpetual test pavement of Yijiang-Suzhou Express Highway in Jiangsu province, China. Test sections were continuously monitored. The conditions and developing laws of deflection, rutting and cracking are compared among the perpetual pavement with the rich binder layer (RBL), the perpetual pavement without the RBL, and the conventional semi-rigid asphalt pavement in the past eight years after opening for traffic. Economical evaluation is conducted via life cycle cost analysis (LCCA). Based on the performance comparison and LCCA analysis, sections with the RBL have good crack resistance, but they are not very satisfactory in the aspect of permanent deformation; the conventional semi-rigid asphalt pavement is the least economic one due to requiring more frequent maintenance. Research results show that the perpetual pavement without RBL is a more appropriate structure for the test site.展开更多
This study aims to reveal the macroscopic permanent deformation(PD)behavior and the internal structural evolution of construction and demolition waste(CDW)under loading.Firstly,the initial matric suction of CDW was me...This study aims to reveal the macroscopic permanent deformation(PD)behavior and the internal structural evolution of construction and demolition waste(CDW)under loading.Firstly,the initial matric suction of CDW was measured by the filter paper method.Secondly,the PD of CDW with different humidity and stress states was investigated by repeated load triaxial tests,and a comprehensive prediction model was established.Finally,the discrete element method was performed to analyze the internal structural evolution of CDW during deformation.These results showed that the VAN-GENUCHTEN model could describe the soil-water characteristic curve of CDW well.The PD increases with the increase of the deviator stress and the number of cyclic loading,but the opposite trend was observed when the initial matric suction and confining pressure increased.The proposed model in this study provides a satisfactory prediction of PD.The discrete element method could accurately simulate the macroscopic PD of CDW,and the shear force,interlock force and sliding content increase with the increase of deviator stress during the deformation.The research could provide useful reference for the deformation stability analysis of CDW under cyclic loading.展开更多

The design incorporates several novel technical solutions: polycarbonate support insulation, mono-sta...The article describes design peculiarities of the novel compact vacuum circuit breaker with rated voltage 40.5 kV. The design incorporates several novel technical solutions: polycarbonate support insulation, mono-stable magnetic actuator, labyrinth pulling insulator, core-type flexible contact and new compact vacuum interrupter (VI). Phases are encapsulated into silicone rubber providing required creepage distance and excellent tracking resistance. These novelties along with extensive modeling of the mechanical and electrical fields followed by design optimization resulted in weight reduction of more than 50% compared with alternatives available in the market. And this is in spite of built in sensors measuring: phase currents, zero-sequence current, phase voltages.展开更多
The magnetic field of coaxial permanent magnet Halbach circuit is calculated first using the finite element method SUPERFISH and the approximate expression of the magnet circuit is obtained.The forces acting on IREB...The magnetic field of coaxial permanent magnet Halbach circuit is calculated first using the finite element method SUPERFISH and the approximate expression of the magnet circuit is obtained.The forces acting on IREB's electron in such magnetic field are analyzed by the use of fluid model and the radial force equation in modified Mathieu function form is drawn then.At last a 2.5-D particle in-cell(PIC)simulation code is used to investigate the physical process of the IREB's propagation.In the PIC simulation,the electron beam current,thickness,magnet field amplitude and the beam's initial incident angle related to the stable propagation are mainly discussed.The conclusion is made that several kilo-amperes intense annular electron beam could propagate stably,meanwhile the focusing form of such magnet geometry provides action mechanism for the interaction between beam electrons and microwave in the ubitron.展开更多
