After ultrosonic-extracting and isolating by column chromatography, the samples were measured by GC/MS with Selected Ion Monitoring mode. Five kinds of PAHs were identified and quantitated in those samples.展开更多

The pH values revealed (27%) a slight to (60%) medium alkalinity ranged between: 7.17-9.45 (pH 8.13 ± 0.13) The alkalinity is attributed to scanty rainfall and deep underground waters as well as deposition of high air pollution contents at Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah. Such soil alkalinity is not optimum to growth of arable/lea-grassland but only for limited cultivation i.e. date palms in comparison with Northwestern and Southwestern sectors of KSA. It is recommended to carry out similar soil evaluation of other parts of KSA involving more measurements i.e. ionic concentration, nutrient levels, micro-flora and to laundry these lands to lower soil'spHs and to increase its fertility.展开更多

The origin of pollution may be industrial, radioactive, agricultural, urban mikobiologjike etc.. The study was conducted in the waters of the Adriatic sea ecosystem aims to analyze the microbiological contamination areas. These waters are used for holiday purposes by citizens. The samplings of marine water are taken from the stratum water surface about 10 cm, at a distance 10-20 m by sea coast. These samples are examined in laboratory for determination of two micro organisms, indicators excrements pollution Faecal Coliform (FC) (ISO 9803) and FC, probably Streptococcus Faecal (FS) with Filtrate Membrane Method's in specific areas (ISO 7899-2). In area Velipoja, Albania, the microbiologic elaborated analyses have resulted as follows: For FC and Streptococcus Faecal are given the minimal values FC-50, FS-50 and maximal values FC-90, FS-90 per 100 mL. About the evaluation of reaction (pH) is concluded that in Albania the sea waters coastal zones have a lightly alkaline ambient, where pH value is in the range 7.5-8.3, estimated according to recommended standards 6-9. No cases of red-tide algae development have been observed.展开更多

The present study sought to develop a method for cadmium (Cd) determination in soil micro-arthropods by optimizing the sample digestion procedure, reducing sample weight, modifying sample pre-treatment and validating the methodology with field samples. The optimized digestion conditions comprised a sample mass of 50-150 μg, digestion reagent of nitric acid:hydrogen peroxide (3:1), digestion temperature of 105 ℃, digestion period of 3 h and digestion volume of 30 μL. Defecation of the standard Collembola Folsomia candida (92 h) and the indigenous Collembola Onychiurus yodai (42 h) and ultrasonic cleaning of F. candida increased the accuracy of Cd determination. The recovery of Cd using the refined procedure was 98.9% and the limits of detection and quantification were 0.002 and 0.008 μg L-1, respectively. The within-batch precision values were 〈 3%. The Cd concentrations in the tissues of the Collembola Isotorna sp. collected from a range of metal-contaminated fields determined by the improved method were consistent with the Cd concentrations in the field soils. The results indicate that the optimized method can be used for more accurate or reliable determination of Cd concentrations in soil micro-arthropod tissues.展开更多
