The influence of dissolved inorganic salts and pH value in the feed of isopropanol (IPA) solution on NaA zeolite membranes was investigated. It was found that both factors exhibited strong influence on the stability of NaA zeolite membranes. A set of pretreatment steps such as pH adjustment and distillation of the IPA solution were proposed to improve stability for pervaporation dehydration. An industrial-scale pervaporation facility with 52 m2 membrane area was built to dehydrate IPA solution from industrial cephalosporin production. The facility was continuously operated at 368-378 K to dehydrate IPA solution from water mass content of 15%-20% to less than 2% with a feed flow rate of 400-500 L·h^-1 and an average water flux of 1-1.5 kg·m^-2·h-1. The successful application of this facility suggested a promising application of NaA zeolite mem-brane for IPA recovery from pharmaceutical production.展开更多

The catalysts were characterized by infrared spec- troscopy with pyridine adsorption (Py-IR), N2 adsorption and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The effects of Ag loading and steaming treatment on catalytic performances were studied. It is found that the activity ofHT_SM-5 (HZ) catalyst significantly decreases with the steaming time, whereas AgHZ catalysts show stable activity in the steaming time of 24-48 h and their activities increase with the Ag loading. When the steaming time is 24-48 h, the yield of propylene over HZ catalyst significantly decreases, whereas it is stable over AgHZ catalysts. The AgHZ catalysts with Ag loadings of 0.28%-0.43% (by mass) show similar propylene yields (-30%), which are higher than that over the AgHZ catalyst with a Ag loading of 0.55% (by mass). These results indicate that the steam-treated AgHZ catalysts with optimum Ag loadings have higher yield of propylene and are more stable than the steam- treated HZ catalyst. The regeneration stability measurement in butene cracking also shows that the AgHZ catalyst steam-treated under a suitable condition has better stability than the HZ catalyst.展开更多

The pilot plant test results showed that the RSDS-III technology could be adapted to different feedstocks. The sulfur content dropped from 600 μg/g and 631 μg/g to 7 μg/g and 9 μg/g, respectively, by RSDS-III technology when feed A and feed B were processed to meet China national V gasoline standard, with the RON loss of products equating to 0.9 units and 1.0 unit, respectively. While the feed C with a medium sulfur content was processed according to the full-range naphtha hydrotreating technology, the sulfur content dropped from 357 μg/g in the feed to 10 μg/g in gasoline, with the RON loss of product decreased by only 0.6 units. Thanks to the high HDS activity and good selectivity of RSDS-III technology, the ultra-low-sulfur gasoline meeting China V standard could be produced by the RSDS-III technology with little RON loss.展开更多

In this study we investigated the isolation, chemical characterization, and immunostimulatory activity in vitro of the hemicelluloses from bamboo shavings. Shavings were first pretreated by steam explosion. The optimal pretreatment was found to be steam explosion at 2.2 MPa for 1 min. Following this pretreatment, the yield of hemicelluloses reached(2.05±0.22)%(based on the dry dewaxed raw materials), which was 5.7-fold higher than that of untreated samples. Bamboo-shavings hemicellulose(BSH) was then prepared by hot water extraction and ethanol precipitation from the steam-exploded shavings. Purification of BSH by anion-exchange chromatography of diethylaminoethanol(DEAE)-sepharose Fast Flow resulted in a neutral fraction(BSH-1, purity of 95.3%, yield of 1.06%) and an acidic fraction(BSH-2, purity of 92.5%, yield of 0.79%). The weight-average molecular weights(Mw) of BSH-1 and BSH-2 were 12 800 and 11 300 g/mol, respectively. Chemical and structural analyses by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), 1D(^1H and ^13C) and 2D(heteronuclear single quantum correlation(HSQC)) nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) spectra revealed that BSH-1 was O-acetylated-arabinoxylan and BSH-2 was O-acetylated-(4-Omethylglucurono)-arabinoxylan. BSH-1 had a higher content of acetyl groups than BSH-2. For the immunomodulatory activity in vitro, BSH and BSH-2 significantly stimulated mouse splenocyte proliferation while BSH-1 had no effect; BSH, BSH-1, and BSH-2 markedly enhanced the phagocytosis activity and nitric oxide production of the murine macrophage RAW264.7 in a dose-dependent manner. Our results suggest that the water-extractable hemicelluloses from steam-exploded bamboo shavings are naturally acetylated and have immunostimulatory activity.展开更多
