According to the road adaptive requirements for the vehicle longitudinal safety assistant system an estimation method of the road longitudinal friction coefficient is proposed.The method can simultaneously be applied ...According to the road adaptive requirements for the vehicle longitudinal safety assistant system an estimation method of the road longitudinal friction coefficient is proposed.The method can simultaneously be applied to both the high and the low slip ratio conditions. Based on the simplified magic formula tire model the road longitudinal friction coefficient is preliminarily estimated by the recursive least squares method.The estimated friction coefficient and the tires model parameters are considered as extended states. The extended Kalman filter algorithm is employed to filter out the noise and adaptively adjust the tire model parameters. Then the final road longitudinal friction coefficient is accurately and robustly estimated. The Carsim simulation results show that the proposed method is better than the conventional algorithm. The road longitudinal friction coefficient can be quickly and accurately estimated under both the high and the low slip ratio conditions.The error is less than 0.1 and the response time is less than 2 s which meets the requirements of the vehicle longitudinal safety assistant system.展开更多

The main improvement consists of the different ro...Generation of polydisperse KCl aerosol with a new salt aerosol generator was investigated, Special attention was paid on particles with diameters between 3 and 10 μm. The main improvement consists of the different routes of KCl solution droplets. In traditional generators, the solution droplets travel through one cylinder; while in the case analyzed here, after spray atomization, the droplets travel through two cylinders in series. The first cylinder was fed with warm air and the second one with cold air. In such way, the complete evaporation of the water from the droplets can be ensured. The influencing factors of the generated aerosol size distribution were investigated. The data measured show that the concentration of generated aerosol becomes higher both increasing the flow rate of the KCI solution injected in the first cylinder and increasing the concentration in the solution. The temperature of solution influences mainly the generation of smaller KCI particles (0,3-3 μm). The amount of hot air used in the generation process increases the concentration of larger KC1 particles (〉3 μm) while cold air does not have the same effect. The aerosol generator is able to generate KC1 aerosol stably. This instrument can be used effectively for testing air filters for automotive.展开更多

Analyses are completed utiliz...This paper reports a test investigation of friction and wear responses from sand contaminated lubricated sliding. The influence of sand contaminants on wear and friction is characterized. Analyses are completed utilizing segments of piston ring sliding against the cylinder liner. Paraffin oil, with and without sand contaminants, is utilized. The effects of the concentration and particle size of sand are examined. Based on the observations in the present work, we found that friction and wear increase with sand concentration in the lube. Solid proposals ought to be considered, in order to enlighten the general population on the importance of changing a car engine's oil filter regularly.展开更多

The synchronous superposition average of original signal a...Scanning the absorption spectral line of water vapor through wavelength around 1368.597nm is successfully used to measure the value of micro-moisture content. The synchronous superposition average of original signal algorithm based on labview is innovated and applied to detecting weak spectrum absorption signal instead of low pass filter. Two data processing methods are used to get the concentration of water vapor in ppm: one is a general formula method which has newly deduced a general formula to calculate the concentration of gas with temperature and beam intensity ratio when the pressure is equal to or greater than 1 atm; the other is engineering calibration method which is proved to have high resolution and accuracy with the fitted curve of beam intensity ratio and concentration in ppm when the temperature changes form 258K to 305K and the pressure ranges from 1 atm to 5 atm.展开更多
