Methods: Sixty patients with resected colorectal carcinoma (CRC) planned to receive adjuvant oxaliplatin-containing regimen were randomly assigned to two arms; Arm A: patients received Ca/Mg were given as 1 gm Ca gluconate and 1 gm MgSO4 in 250 mL of intravenous (IV) solution over 30 rain pre and post oxaliplatin infusion, and Arm B: patients received 250 mL of IV solution without Ca/Mg over 30 min pre and post oxaliplatin infusion. Primary outcome was to assess percentage of patients with oxaliplatin-induced neurotoxicity. Neurotoxicity was assessed according to the National Cancer Institute Common Terminology Criteria forAdverse Events (NCI-CTCAE) version 3.0. Results: Sixty patients in both arms were assessed, 30 with Ca/Mg infusion and 30 without. Patients developed neurotoxicity in arm A were significantly lower than that in arm B after the end of treatment; 7 (23.3%) and 14 (46.6%) respectively (P 〈 0.05), and significantly lower duration of neuropathy in months (8 ± 2.5 vs 18 ±3) respectively (P 〈 0.001). Conclusion: Use of IV Ca/Mg showed a statistically significant reduction of peripheral neuropathy (PN) in patients with CRC receiving oxaliplatin in the adjuvant settings.展开更多
Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of raltitrexed/bevacizumab in combination with irinotecan or oxaliplation for advanced colorectal cancer as the second-line and second-line a...Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of raltitrexed/bevacizumab in combination with irinotecan or oxaliplation for advanced colorectal cancer as the second-line and second-line above treatments. Metho ods: Fifteen cases of advanced colorectal cancer were enrolled to receive regimens including raltitrexed/bevacizumab combined with irinotecan or oxaliplation. Two cases were treated with raltitrexed + bavacizumab regimen, 9 cases with raltitrexed + bavacizumab + irinotecan regimen, and 4 cases with raltitrexed + bevacizumab + oxaliplation regimen. The doses of the drugs were as follows: bevacizumab 5 mg/kg ivgtt, d 1; raltitrexed 2.0 mg/m2 ivgtt 15 min, d2; irinotecan 180 mg/m2 ivgtt 1 h, d2; and oxaliplatin 85 mg/m2 ivgtt 2 h, d2. Two weeks was a cycle for each regimen. Results: The efficacy of the 15 patients could be evaluated. Two cases were in PR ,10 cases in SD, 3 cases in PD, the response rate was 13.3%, and the disease control rate was 80.0%. The median progress-free survival was 5.1 months (95% CI: 3.404-6.813 months), and the median overall survival was 11.5 months (95% CI: 8.985-13.930 months). The adverse effects included anorexia, nausea/vomiting, fatigue, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, etc, and the main 3-4 grades adverse effects were anorexia, nausea/vomiting, fatigue, and thrombocytopenia. Conclusion: Raltitrexed/bevacizumab combined with irinotecan or oxaliplatin as the secondline and second-line above treatments for advanced colorectal cancer has high disease control rates, and the adverse effect is well tolerated. The combined regimen can be recommended as a phase III clinical research and second-line and secondlines above treatments for advanced colorectal cancer.展开更多

This paper establishe...Up to now, all analysis of the distribution of water vapor over the Taklimakan desert area only depends on limited ground measurements and radio soundings setting mostly on the outer margin area. This paper establishes an approach to retrieve the water vapor over the desert at high temporal and spatial resolutions by the use of FY2C geostationary satellite split-window channels in cooperation with ground-based GPS water vapor measurement. Results show that the water vapor distribution over the Taklimakan desert is affected highly by topography and surface properties. The outer margin area has generally more water vapor than the inner area. Over the outer margin area, the western part has more water vapor than the eastern part, and the northern part has more than the southern part. The driest area lies to the south of Tazhong, east of Hotan River, and extended to the south boundary of the desert. Similar to elsewhere, water vapor over the desert area shows diurnal, monthly, seasonal and annual variations even at the driest inner area of the desert. In summer, the water vapor is transported from west to east over a long distance along the westerlies at a height between 700-400 hPa and with the average speed of 50 km h-1.展开更多
