The DSPs formed under atmospheric pressure comprise amorphous phase, zeolite A, zeolite and sodalite, and the DSPs concentration and crystallinity increase with the increase of initial silica concentration, initial molar ratio of caustic Na2O to Al2O3(αK) and desilication duration. Decreasing the initial silica concentration, initial αK and increasing the desilication duration can reduce the proportion of zeolite A. The zeolite and sodalite are the stable DSPs, while the precipitation of zeolite A occurs at a high silica-supersaturated state in sodium aluminate solution. The DSPs are precipitated in the form of agglomerates, but the morphologies of various DSPs are quite different. Both the molar ratios of Na2O to Al2O3 and SiO-2 to Al2O3 in DSPs increase with the increasing desilication duration, resulting in the increase of the cell volumes of various DSPs. The precipitation sequence of DSPs under atmospheric pressure is: amorphous phase→zeolite A→zeolite→sodalite.展开更多

Adsorption experiment from aqueous solutions containing known amount of Cr(Ⅵ) using zeolite, chitosan and ZCHC was explored to evaluate the efficiency of ZCHC as adsorbent for Cr in a batch system. The amount of Cr(Ⅵ) adsorbed at different pH values, initial concentrations, adsorbent dosages, and contact times were determined by ICP-AES (inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry) in order to determine the optimum conditions for Cr(Ⅵ) adsorption. Furthermore, the adsorption mechanism of Cr(Ⅵ) by zeolite, chitosan and ZCHC was investigated by applying Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm equations to the data obtained. In addition, the rates of adsorption were found to conform to pseudo-second order kinetics.展开更多

Atomic absorption spectrum and X-ray diffraction analysis were carried out to investigate the effects of Ag^+ , Cu^2+ and Zn^2+ on antimicrobial abilities of natural porous minerals, and the effect of preparation method on ion exchange capacity of antimicrobial material, respectively. The results show that for the ion exchange capacity, clay mineral is higher than fibrous mineral, i.e. both zeolite and montmorillonite are higher; the antimicrobial ability of material with Ag^+ is the bests the exchange capacities of materials with Cu^2+ or Zn^2+ are all higher, but the antimicrobial ability of Cu^2+ is better than that of Zn^2+ .展开更多

The encapsulated complex (Cosalen-NaY) was characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectrum, ultraviolet-visible spectrum, Brunaner-Emmett-Teller surface areas, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis and scanning electron microscope. The reaction of cyclohexane oxidation using oxygen was chosen to investigate the catalytic performance of Cosalen-NaY, and the effects of oxygen pressure, temperature and reaction time were also studied. The results show that Cosalen complex is encapsulated into the supercage of the zeolite and the structure of NaY zeolite remains integrity and the thermal stability of Cosalen is greatly enhanced after encapsulation. Cosalen-NaY shows the better activity in the oxidation of cyclohexane without reductant and solvent. The conversion of cyclohexane is up to 13.4% at 150 ℃ for 3 h under oxygen pressure of 0.85 MPa, with the higher total selectivity to cyclohexanol, cyclohexanone, cyclohexyl hydroperoxide (CHHP) and acid (79.2%) than the neat complex (55.5%). NaY zeolite cartier maybe contributes to the results. There is no obvious induction period to initiate the reaction; furthermore, the amount of CHHP among the products is small, which indicates that the Cosalen-NaY has the strong ability to accelerate the decomposition of CHHP. Recycling tests show that the hybrid material can be used repeatedly with a negligible loss of active sites.展开更多

The effects of air/water ratio, hydraulic loading and the length of LBAF on pollutants removal efficiency are tested. The results show that under optimal technological conditions when hydraulic loading is 0.43 m3 m?2 h?1 and air/water ratio is 10:1, the average removal efficiencies of COD, SS, NH3-N, and TN reach 88.01%, 95.18%, 78.97% and 52.58%, respectively. An LBAF has a large pollutants handling capacity; is less liable to be blocked, and has a longer operation cycle in comparison with a traditional BAF.展开更多

Synthesized zeolites were studied based on the SEM (scanning electron microscopy), XRD (x-ray diffraction) and chemical analysis. The porous structure of these zeolites was investigated by nitrogen low-temperature adsorption. It has been illustrated that regulation of the BEA/MOR co-crystalline zeolites phase composition is possible due to variations of the initial alumosilicate gels composition and hydrogen ions concentration. Zeolites containing the co-crystalline phases of BEA/MOR could to be attractive in the processes using the catalysts, which based on the pure phases BEA or MOR zeolites.展开更多

This process can help to cut corners on production cost to achieve the sustainable development.展开更多
