Methods: Sixty three peripheral facial p...Objective:To observe the correlation between needling stimulation quantity and the therapeutic effect of acupuncture in the treatment of early stage of peripheral facial palsy. Methods: Sixty three peripheral facial palsy patients were randomized into treatment group (n=33) and control group (n=30). In treatment group, Taiyang (EX HN 5), Jingming (BL 1) and Hegu (LI 4) were punctured with gauge 36 acupuncture needles and stimulated with light twirling reinforcing method (about 200 times/min), the acupuncture needles were retained for 20 min. In addition, moxibustion was also applied to Fengchi (GB 20) and Qianzheng (EX HN 17) following puncturing them with gauge 30 filiform needles. In control group, conventional twirling reducing method (about 60 times/min) was applied to Yangbai (GB 14), Cuanzhu (BL 2), Sizhukong (TE 23), etc., following puncturing them with gauge 28 filiform needles. Additionally, thermal needle was applied to Fengchi (GB 20), Yifeng (TE 17) and Jiache (ST 6), with the needles retained for 40 min. Results: Following 10 days’ treatment, of the 33 and 30 cases in treatment and control groups, 21 (63.0%) and 12 (40.0%) were cured, 7(21.1%) and 5 (16.7%) had remarkable improvement, 4 (12.1%) and 9 (30.0%) were effective, and 1 (3.0%) and 4 (13.3%) failed in the treatment, with the cure plus markedly effective rates being 84.8% and 56.7% respectively. Statistical analysis shows that in acupuncture treatment of early stage of facial palsy, light stimulation is superior to that of heavy stimulation in the therapeutic effect.展开更多

Therapeutic and prophylactic efficacy of individual bioflavonoids as well as herbal medicines with bioflavonoids, was examined at an experimental pathology (toxic hepatitis, dental caries, periodontitis, stomatitis, dysbiosis, diabetes Types 1 and 2, gastric ulcer, osteopenia) in Wistar line rats. Condition of organs and tissues was assessed by biochemical markers of inflammation, antioxidant and antimicrobial defense systems of animals. Research has shown the ability ofbioflavonoids in varying degrees inhibit the formation of superoxide anion radicals and malondialdehyde, recover free radicals, bind ions of Fe2+, inhibiting the activity of proteases, such as leukocyte elastase. Established partially competitive type of trypsin and elastase activity inhibition by bioflavonoids. Was revealed a positive effect of bioflavonoids in experimental pathology on animals. Therapeutic and prophylactic effects of bioflavonoids, in our opinion, are realized through a strong antioxidant and antiprotease properties of these compounds.展开更多
It is proposed that gut-liver-lung axis plays an important role in the pathophysiologic development of the critical illness, and it induces excessive inflammatory response in vivo and multiple organ dysfunction syndro...It is proposed that gut-liver-lung axis plays an important role in the pathophysiologic development of the critical illness, and it induces excessive inflammatory response in vivo and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. The mechanisms of therapeutic effects of rhubarb on critical patients are studied based on the theory of Chinese traditional medicine. Researches demonstrate that rhubarb can be used to protect gut barrier, maintain intestinal microecological environment and prevent bacterial translocation. It also can be used to inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators by liver inflammatory-effector cells, reduce inflammatory reaction in the liver and protect hepatic cell functions. Furthermore, rhubarb can be used to reduce pulmonary vascular permeability and extenuate pulmonary edema, inhibit the release of neutrophil myeloperoxidase, and lower the level of inflammatory response and decrease inflammatory mediators in circulation. The above results indicate that rhubarb may interrupt or partly interrupt the gut-liver-lung axis after trauma and reduce the intensity of systemic inflammatory response syndrome. Therefore, rhubarb may obviously lower the incidence of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome and be used to prevent and treat systemic inflammatory response syndrome and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome after trauma.展开更多
Colorectal cancer is the second most common malignant tumor in China.The FOLFOXIRI regimen,which combines 5-fluorouracil/leucovorin,oxaliplatin,and irinotecan,is a high-intensity and highly effective chemotherapy regi...Colorectal cancer is the second most common malignant tumor in China.The FOLFOXIRI regimen,which combines 5-fluorouracil/leucovorin,oxaliplatin,and irinotecan,is a high-intensity and highly effective chemotherapy regimen.However,the original regimen is poorly tolerated in Chinese patients.In order to promote the standardization and rational application of FOLFOXIRI regimen by clinicians in China,the“Chinese Expert Consensus on the Clinical Application of the Chinese Modified Triplet Combination with Irinotecan(CPT-11),Oxaliplatin(LOHP),Continuous Infusion 5-Fluorouracil,and Leucovorin for Colorectal Cancer”was formulated by the Committee of Colorectal Cancer in Chinese Southwest Oncology Group.Based on the mechanism underlying the combined three drugs and toxicity profile,the dosage of Chinese modified FOLFOXIRI(cmFOLFOXIRI)regimen and the management of adverse reactions are proposed.This consensus recommended that the FOLFOXIRI regimen be used in neoadjuvant,conversion,and palliative therapy for colorectal cancer under specific conditions.This consensus aimed to drive the application of cmFOLFOXIRI in the field of colorectal cancer in order to bring benefits to colorectal cancer patients.展开更多
