The resulting high pass-by noise at level above the legislative targe...This paper reports results of the authors’ studies on the virtual design method used in the development of low noise intake system of I.C. engine. The resulting high pass-by noise at level above the legislative target at full throttle when engine speed was around 5200 r/min necessitated a BEM-aided redesign task, following the typical process of design and development of an intake system. During the initial design, based on the acoustic theory and the requirements (1. The air flux of the redesigned should equal to or exceed the value of the original flux; 2. The filtering area must not be degraded), and considering the constraint of space in the engine compartment, total volume and rough internal dimensions were determined. During the detailed design, the exact internal dimensions of the air cleaner were determined, and an effective method was applied to improve the acoustic performance at low frequency. The predicted sound power of the intake system indicated that the objective of reducing the overall engine noise by minimizing intake system noise was achieved.展开更多

An architecture com- bining an Information-Centric Network (ICN) and Sottware-Defmed Network (SDN) (IC-SDN) has gradually attracted more attention. How- ever, the existing studies regarding IC-SDN still lack support in terms of the "network status awareness" function, resulting in unreasonable resource allocation. In this paper, we propose a new status-aware resource adaptation sche- me, i.e. a status-aware module is embedded into basic elements (Forwarding Node (FN) and Resource adaption Manager (RM)). The FNs collect the network status dynamically for the controller to reallocate network resources accor- ding to the fluctuations in environmental con- ditions. Simulation results show that, compared with the existing IC-SDN mechanism, the pro- posed scheme reduced the link bandwidth var- iance by 56% and the content delivery latency by 40%. The proof-of-concept implementation demonstrates the feasibility of our proposed sc- heme for small-scale deployment.展开更多

The proposed plant is based on scientific foundations established by thermodynamics and classical field theory, and empirical disciplines that deal with properties of chemical elements and with technologies of calorific capture from remote sources. The gauge principle was applied in theoretical formalization as an essential tool in the control background of the entropy rates involved. The industrial system presented was planned to recycle condensed matter within the scope of a solid waste management policy.展开更多
A simple and economical chemical process for obtaining high purity neodymium oxide is discussed. The raw material in the form of RE (rare earth) carbonates is produced industrially in Brazil from monazite. Using thi...A simple and economical chemical process for obtaining high purity neodymium oxide is discussed. The raw material in the form of RE (rare earth) carbonates is produced industrially in Brazil from monazite. Using this concentrate as the feed material, ion exchange with a strong cationic resin, commonly used for water treatment, and without the use of retention ions was used for the fractionating of the REE (rare earth elements). The eluent was ammonium salt of EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) at pH 4.0. The complex of EDTA-neodymium was transformed into neodymium oxides via oxalate precipitation. We produced 99.9% pure Nd203 in yields greater than or equal to 80%. Molecular absorption spectrophotometry was used to monitor the neodymium content during the process and sector field inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was used to certify the purity of the neodymium oxides. The typical neodymium oxides obtained contained the followings contaminants in micrograms per gram: Sc (4.09); Y (0.39); La (0.78); Ce (5.62); Pr (4.56); Sm (11.10); Eu (1.10); Gd (14.30); Tb (29.3); Dy (4.15); Ho (8.39); Er (13.80); Tm (0.23); Yb (2.29); Lu (0.39). High purity neodymium oxides obtained from this procedure replaced the imported product used in research and development work on rare earth at IPEN/CNEN-SP (Instituto de Pesquisas Energeticas e Nucleares/Comissfio Nacional de Eneergia Nuclear-Sao Paulo).展开更多
For any society to progress, there must be sensitive leadership that is willing to stir the affairs of the country toward the right direction, the provision of a good life, security, opportunity to exist peacefully, a...For any society to progress, there must be sensitive leadership that is willing to stir the affairs of the country toward the right direction, the provision of a good life, security, opportunity to exist peacefully, a functioning legal system, responsive government, economic prosperity are all fundamental elements for sta- bility, and progress in any society. With a strong leadership in China, it has grown to become the newest and emerging super economic power bloc of the twenty-first century. Government adoption of philosophies such as the Mandate of Heaven, putting the people first, rule by virtue and deep economic reforms has not only bolstered it's authority to rule but has fortified the ruling party position as the only legitimate ruler of the greatest populated country in the world. This article develops a perception that stability of any society can only be achieved when it is deeply rooted in the philosophical ideology of that society and pursuing the core interests of the people. This work sets out to explain and examine the nature of the Chinese Communist Party dynamics in ensuring political stability in China over the decades of its inception into the political stream of the nation state.展开更多
