高职法语学生在线学习投入现状及提升策略

随着互联网及在线教育的快速发展,在线学习已成为重要的学习途径,但受学习者投入程度等影响,在效果上存在较大差异。文章以某高职院校法语专业为研究样本,在分析学生在线学习行为和在线学习投入现状的基础上,提出加强学生学习投入的策略。

法语背景学生中级汉语写作中易混词类型初探

本研究首次对法语背景学生的易混词进行专题研究,主要目的是尝试给法语背景学生的易混词分类,语料基础是日内瓦大学汉学系二年级学生21万字的书面作业。我们根据造成混淆的根源把易混词分成了两大类:第一类是由于没有完全掌握目的语汉语词语,特别是近义词或有某种关联的词语的细微差别造成的。这一类又分成近义而无相同构成语素、近义且有相同构成语素、意义有关联但不是近义、属于同一语义范畴的词语、属于同一语法范畴的词语、逆序词六小类;第二类则是由于母语法语的词汇知识影响造成的,又分成四小类:由法语多义词义项/义位误推造成的易混词,法语多功能词用法误推造成的易混词,直译法语某些搭配或说法造成的易混词,某些法语词词形变化前后意义不同引起的易混词。

非洲法语区硕士留学生课程体系优化探讨——以道桥渡学科为例

Explicit Grammar and Implicit Grammar Teaching for English Major Students in University

Using Mixed Methods to Investigate the Relationship Between Student Motivation and Academic Achievement From Socio-Cultural Perspective

Language learning is a complex process for many reasons. First, it is closely related to linguistics. Second, language is social as it occurs within certain social contexts. And finally, it is individual. Personal characteristics such as experience, gender and age, attitude and aptitude, motivation, beliefs, self-confidence, and anxiety greatly influence language learning. Among these variables, motivation is considered to be one of the most important factors affecting the success of second or foreign language learning. However, the relationship between motivation and educational achievement is not quite clear. In the current literature, motivation is regarded as socially constructed, therefore as dynamic rather than static. Little research has been conducted on the motivation of Vietnamese students studying English as a compulsory curriculum component rather than as a major from a socio-cultural perspective. Understanding the relationship between student motivation and academic achievement as well as the socio-cultural factors that affect students＇ motivation will be an important contribution to motivation theory. Therefore, the situation requires longitudinal and in-depth research into student motivation, the factors affecting it during the learning process, and the relationship between student motivation and academic achievement. A mixed method approach has been chosen to meet the needs of the study. It is believed that insights in these areas will help address the issue of motivation at the Police University.

The Effectiveness of Using Constructive Learning Strategies in Teaching English Language on Developing the Achievement of Grammar, Translation, and Critical Thinking Skills for the Third Grade Intermediate Students

The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of the integration between some constructive learning strategies in teaching a unit of the English language course to collect translation skills, using grammar, and the acquisition of critical thinking skills for intermediate third grade students in Mecca. Also, it aimed to acknowledge the statistical differences between the modified averages for the study sample groups degrees in the dimensional collecting of grammar and translation skills at the knowledge of the grammar level and using it, and at the macro level for collecting translation and grammar skills after adjusting the old collecting, as well as the knowledge of the statistical differences between the modified averages for the study sample groups in the total telemetric for the critical thinking skills after adjusting the old collecting. To achieve the study objectives, the researcher used the semi-experimental method that had several experimental groups （four groups）, and applied it to a sample of intermediate third-grade students in the city of Makkah （99 students） in teaching the unit of the English language course, which is （Healthy Eating） in the second semester in 2011/2012. After using the appropriate statistical methods, the study came to a result that there are no statistically significant differences in the old implementation for the test of skills of academic achievement of grammar, translation, and critical thinking skills, and that there are statistically significant differences in the new implementation due to the four strategies. According to the results of the study, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations including： the necessity to focus on the constructive theory in teaching English language skills, the importance of expanding the use of the suggested integrative oriented and its development in the field of English language teaching, to hold an intensive training courses for teachers of the English language to train them on using the suggested integrative strategy, the emphasis on the importance of the curriculum activities which focus on the integration between the constructive learning strategies, the importance of expanding of scientific research in the field of integrative strategies, and the development of synthesis methods that combine two strategies or more.

Research on the Development Trend of Contemporary English Education Pattern under the Quality Education and Ability Oriented Background

In this research paper, we conduct research on development trend of contemporary English education pattern under the quality education and the ability oriented background. In learning, learn grammar use master grammar functions in use many teaching experts recommended is effective way. In this way, we can fully mobilize students＇ learning grammar effectiveness on the basis of can make them have more chance to practice. Participation can make students understand, no longer limited to simple memorization and found problems in study and communication with each other, to explore the problems and effectively improve English learning. Initiating Chinese student teachers into action research

This paper discusses the effectiveness of action research by student teachers during their practicum. Following the review of literature and the presentation of the advantages of action research by student teachers, the paper suggests a three-phased action research process in student teachers＇ practicum. In China, initiating student teachers into an action research approach in teacher preparation programmes, which offers a way to narrow the theory-practice gap, a big problem to student teachers, can effectively integrate professional knowledge and classroom teaching practice and prepare them for the complex role they will face in today＇s world.

University students＇ attitudes towards the standard discourse and the emergent discourses

The study investigated the university students＇ attitudes towards the coexistence of the standard discourse and the emergent discourses through a questionnaire. 223 sophomores in Xinjiang Normal University participated in the survey. The results show that these students tend to accept the emergent discourses in terms of their new vocabulary words, such as ＂yumi＂. Although the standard discourse dominates the students＇ life, the emergent discourses are accepted and used by these students. With regard to the view to purify the Chinese language, human concern and tolerance for the coexistence of various discourses are suggested.

Development of SLA research

Over the years SLA research has developed rapidly and continued to do so. There has been an enormous amount of empirical research directed at describing the characteristics of L2 learner language and how the change as acquisition takes place. There has also been growing interest in theory construction. This article mainly probes into five kinds of its developments.

Overview of the children＇s English acquisition

English has become the medium for communication in so many areas, and children are the hope of the future and shoulder the duties to structure the future. Children＇s English becomes more important and spreads all over the world, especially in recent years. Children＇s English is not perfect and there exist its own disadvantages. This paper gives four optimizations and suggestions in teaching children＇s English in order to solve the problem. Then it lists several relations to the children＇s English study, and these four relations are very important because they are the keys to lead the children＇s English to a healthy and developing road. And in the next chapter, it talks about the trends of the children＇s English in the future and lists the reasons why these kinds of trends appear. At last, the author overlooks the whole paper and gives a conclusion, which shows that children＇s English has a great potentiality in the future in China.

Probes Into Application of Multi-media Technology in Teaching Chinese as the Second Language Acquisition Class

The multi-media teaching method refers to using computer as a teaching assistant in the teaching Chinese as the second language （TCSL） class. The purpose of employing multi-media technology is to encourage students＇ class participation, giving them explicit and specific impression of abstract contents and cultivating their intuitive grasp of linguistic points. Based on the current study of usage of multi-media technology in class teaching, this paper attempts to investigate mainly on its positive influence of multi-media technology in teaching.

From Grammar to Critical Thinking in Seven Steps at 2013 KOTESOL DCC Symposium

＂From Grammar to Critical Woosong University, 2013 Thinking in Seven The purpose of the Steps＂ was presented at the 2013 KOTESOL DCC Symposium, project was to accelerate the learning curve of students with a higher than average IQ （intelligence quotient）, but functionally low in English. The students were required to write an essay, in the last hour of a four hour class. The students were challenged to fix sentences, write the reason they chose, and speak their answer. To determine if this was a one book idea, another test was tried with regular students, using an off the shelf grammar book. Using the same step by step process, the ability of students to make a story from a standard grammar book, was accomplished in a 90-minute class. Students enjoyed the activity and were able to use previously learned ideas in their sequencing and logical choices. This in turn strengthened the writing process, which was the goal. After four sessions, students in the initial trial class achieved better writing and story development skills. The second group did not continue the process due to class and schedule changes. Their understanding of the process was enlarged, but not tested

A study of college art students＇ English learning motivation

In the process of English teaching for the college art students, teachers are always hunted by the following problem： No matter how hard they try, there is not much response from the students. What are the reasons？ The very important one is that students lack English learning motivation. Therefore, the present study examines the motivational beliefs of first-year art major undergraduates, aiming to increase college art students＇ interest in learning English, promote their active learning and improve their learning results.

The effects of text structure, structure awareness and proficiency level on EFL learners＇ reading test performance

The present study probed into the effects of text structure, structure awareness and proficiency level on EFL learners＇ reading test performance. There are 112 college-level students participated in the experiment and their English proficiency belonged to distinct levels. The subjects＇ performance on the recall of two passages written in different types of structure was examined. Results of statistical indicate that text structure, structure awareness and proficiency level all have main effects on the subjects＇ reading performance. More specifically, two major findings emerged from the results of the investigation. One the one hand, text structures significantly affected the quantity but not the quality of the information recalled while proficiency level and structure awareness had significant impact on both the quantity and quality of information recalled. On the other hand, structure awareness was irrelevant to either text structure or proficiency level. The implications of the findings for teaching L2/FL reading were suggested.

A Corpus-Based Analysis of Chinese Students＇ Contraction Strategies in Writing

This paper makes comparison among CLEC, the Brown Corpus and the LOB Corpus, and studies the Chinese students＇ contraction strategies in English writings. It draws the temporary conclusion that Chinese students of various English levels tend to overuse contracted forms in their writings, and thus makes their writings more informal and conversational. There are even a few students trying using informal contractions such as ＂gonna＂, ＂wanna＂, etc. It is necessary to remind Chinese English learners of paying attention to the standard contraction strategies in their writings.
