Computer simulation shows that the same stable mode field distribution pattern is obtained through the different kinds of driving sources. It is found that the optical field mode is determined by waveguide structure and optical wavelength other than the driving source.According to the mode field distribution, the optimum coupling efficiency can be predicted. Compared with another numerical methods, the CPU-time and memory elements of computer used by FDTD are much less.展开更多

A novel measuring method for the diameter of near-field recording spot is also presented. Since the grain of the recording media is tiny enough,near-field optical lithography can be accomplished with the aid of atomic force microscope (AFM).The diameter of near-field recording spot can be obtained by specifically designed computer. So the relationship between the near-field recording spot diameter and the probe size of near-field recording system, the near field recording distance coupling between head and disc can be got.展开更多

Under the external AG and DC electric field Eapp = Eα(1 + sinωt), the effective nonlinear responses and local potentials are induced by the cubic nonlinearity of Kerr materials at all harmonics. As an example in three dimensions, we have investigated this kind of nonlinear composites with spherical inclusions embedded in a host. At all harmonic frequencies, the potentials in inclusion and host regions are derived. Furthermore, the formulae of the effective linear and nonlinear responses are given in the dilute Iimit.展开更多

The minimum detectable E-field of the sensor was 10kV/m. The sensor showed a good linear characteristic while the input E-fields varied from 10kV/m to 370kV/m. Furthermore, the maximum detectable E-field of the sensor, which could be calculated from the sensor input/output characteristic, was approximately equal to 1000kV/m. All these results suggest that such sensor can be used for the measurement of the lighting impulse electric field.展开更多
