Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of percutaneous ethanol intratumoral injection (PEIT) for treatment of small primary liver cancer (SPLC).Methods 240 patients with surgically or pathologically proved SPLC...Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of percutaneous ethanol intratumoral injection (PEIT) for treatment of small primary liver cancer (SPLC).Methods 240 patients with surgically or pathologically proved SPLC ( < 3 cm in diameter) were treated by PEIT ( under the guidance of B-ultrasound) . Of the" 240 patients, 163 had recurrent liver cancer, 55 had inoperable liver cancer because of cardiac, pulmonary, hepatic and renal dysfunctions or due to the close proximity of tumor to the major vessels, and 22 refused to receive surgical resection. In 40 patients who received surgical resection after PEIT treatment, the resected tumors were pathologically evaluated for necrotic status and the patients were followed up postoperatively.Results Postoperative 1-, 2- and 3-year survival rate of the 240 patients was 94.9% , 84.2% and 66.3% respectively. Conclusion PEIT can be used as a non-invasive treatment for SPLC, and preoperative PEIT appears to be helpful in reducing recurrence of postoperative liver cancer.展开更多

The simulated results were compared to experimental results and found to be in accordance. Variations in the temperature field and solid-liquid region, which plays important roles in determining solidification structures, were also examined under various cooling conditions. The proposed model was utilized to determine the effects of Gaussian distribution parameters to find that the lower the mean undercooling, the higher the equiaxed crystal zone ratio; also, the larger the maximum nucleation density, the smaller the grain size. The influence of superheat on solidification structure and columnar to equiaxed transition(CET) in the cast ingot was also investigated to find that decrease in superheat from 52 K to 20 K causes the equiaxed crystal zone ratio to increase from 58.13% to 65.6%, the mean gain radius to decrease from 2.102 mm to 1.871 mm, and the CET to occur ahead of schedule. To this effect, low superheat casting is beneficial to obtain finer equiaxed gains and higher equiaxed dendrite zone ratio in Fe–6.5%Si alloy cast ingots.展开更多

EA （Ebstein anomaly） has a prevalence of 1% of all congenital heart diseases, as CAD （coronary artery disease） has a little evidence in literature＇s registries when occurred in individuals with 40 years old or less. Therefore, this case report rises attention to the rarity of those patologies, which individually are already considerably rare and, in this case, it comes associated what turns this diagnosis excepcional, highlighting the complexity of the treatment.展开更多

International patient ...Premature ovarian insufficiency（POI） affects seriously physical and mental health of the patients. Studies show that acupuncture may be promising in treating POI. yet evidence is insufficient. International patient registry, one form of observational study, is designed for evaluating effectiveness and safety of acupuncture in real-world clinical settings. We will face a series of opportunities and challenges. The opportunities are as follows：（1） Interdisciplinary cooperation can improve the effect of acupuncture for POI.（2） The protocol for acupuncture to treat POI has room for improvement.（3） The patient registry study can make up the shortcomings of randomized controlled trials.（4） The patient registry study can collect real-world data and explore responses of different populations to acupuncture and can be the foundation for the successive studies. International patient registry may face technological, ethical and financial challenges, while the established International Patient Registry Platform of Acupuncture-Moxibustion（www.amreg.org：8082/v3） is actively responding to these challenges. Till now there have been more than 300 patients of POI enrolled on this platform.展开更多
