CFD models have been developed to investigate the Iongwall goaf gas flow patternsunder different mining and geological control conditions.The Iongwall goaf wastreated as porous regions and gas flow was modelled as a momentum sink added to themomentum equation.Gas desorption from the caved goaf and destressed coal seamswithin the mining disturbed area was modelled as additional mass sources in the continuityequation.These CFD models were developed according to specific Iongwall layoutsand calibrated against field monitoring data.Two case studies were presented demonstratingthe application of CFD modelling of goaf gas flow characteristics for improved goafgas capture and the reduction of oxygen ingress into the goaf areas for self-heating prevention.Results from the case studies indicate that the optimum goaf drainage strategywould be a combination of shallow (near the face) and deep holes to improve the overalldrainage efficiency and gas purity.For gassy Iongwall faces retreating against the seam dip,it is recommended to conduct cross-measure roof hole drainage targeting the fracturedzones overlying the return corner,rather than high capacity surface goaf drainage deep inthe goaf. 展开更多

This work is to study a role of the fluctuating density gradient in the compressible flows tbr the computational fluid dynamics (CFD). A new anisotropy tensor with the fluctuating density gradient is introduced, and is used for an invariant modeling technique to model the turbulent density gradient correlation equation derived from the continuity equation. The modeling equation is decomposed into three groups proportional to the mean velocity, proportional to the mean strain rate, and proportional to the mean density. The characteristics of the correlation in a wake are extracted from the results by the two dimensional direct simulation, and shows the strong correlation with the vortices in the wake near the body. Thus, it can be concluded that the correlation of the density gradient is a significant parameter to describe the quick generation of the turbulent property in the compressible flows. 展开更多

We first prove the global existence of weak solutions in dimension three. Furthermore, the global well-posedness of strong solutions is studied with sufficiently large viscosity of fluid. Finally, we show a continuous dependence result on the initial data which directly yields the weak-strong uniqueness of solutions. 展开更多

This work attempts to extend the fundamental theory for classic gas dynamics to viscous compressible flow,of which aeroacoustics will naturally be a special branch.As a continuation of Part I.Unbounded fluid(Mao et al.,2022),this paper studies the source of longitudinal field at solid boundary,caused by the on-wall kinematic and viscous dynamic coupling of longitudinal and transverse processes.We find that at this situation the easiest choice for the two independent thermodynamic variables is the dimensionless pressure P and temperature T.The two-level structure of boundary dynamics of longitudinal field is obtained by applying the continuity equation and its normal derivative to the surface.We show that the boundary dilatation flux represents faithfully the boundary production of vortex sound and entropy sound,and the mutual generation mechanism of the longitudinal and transverse fields on the boundary does not occur symmetrically"at the samc level,but appears along a zigzag route.At the first level,it is the pressure gradient that generates vorticity unidirectionally;while at the second level,it is the vorticity that generates dilatation unidirectionally. 展开更多
