带缺陷流变性材料破坏过程中显现出热致磁效应的实验结果表明:在材料破坏的过程中,由于内部温度梯度的存在,导致裂尖断裂过程区具有热致磁效应.可见,热传导方程应包括电磁场的贡献.这种情况意味着断裂过程区内的磁感应场变化,不... 带缺陷流变性材料破坏过程中显现出热致磁效应的实验结果表明:在材料破坏的过程中,由于内部温度梯度的存在,导致裂尖断裂过程区具有热致磁效应.可见,热传导方程应包括电磁场的贡献.这种情况意味着断裂过程区内的磁感应场变化,不是由磁通量守恒律的局部化剩余产生,而是本构关系的直接结果,它显示为非局部效应,并参与能量耗散,因此,材料的破坏过程不是纯粹的力学过程.本文应用线性算子谱论建立了条带型断裂过程区的流变场方程并讨论了其热力学关系.最后,以对于Galilei不变式是协变的Lorentz不变式方程分析了裂尖断裂过程区的电磁场特性.本文的成果将有利于金属基复合材料、导电聚合物、定向纳米材料等新型材料的设计和制造以及有关结构物的失效分析. 展开更多

Polyether ether ketone(PEEK)has good mechanical properties.However,its high viscosity when molten limits its use because it is hard to process.PEEK nanocomposites containing both carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and polyether imide(PEI)were pre-pared by a direct wet powder blending method using a vertical injection molding machine.The addition of an optimum amount of PEI lowered the viscosity of the molten PEEK by approximately 50%while producing an increase in the toughness of the nanocom-posites,whose strain to failure increased by 129%,and fracture energy increased by 97%.The uniformly dispersed CNT/PEI powder reduced the processing difficulty of PEEK nanocomposites without affecting the thermal resistance.This improvement of the strength and viscosity of PEEK facilitate its use in the preparation of thermoplastic composites. 展开更多

Possibility of cemented gangue backfill was studied with gangue of Suncun Coal Mine, Xinwen Coal Group, Shandong, and fly ash of nearby thermal power plant, in order to treat enormous coal gangue on a large scale and to recovery safety coal pillars. The results indicate that coal gangue is not an ideal aggregate for pipeline gravity flow backfill, but such disadvantages of gangue as bad fluidity and serious pipe wear can be overcome by addition of fly ash. It is approved that quality indexes such as strength and dewatering ratio and piping feature of slurry can satisfy requirement of cemented backfill if mass ratio of cement to fly ash to gangue is 1:4:15 and mass fraction of solid materials reaches 72%-75%. Harden mechanism suggests that the cemented gangue fill has a higher middle and long term comprehensive strength. 展开更多

The analysis of scanning electron microscope(SEM) shows that the ultrafine particles are spheroids coated by gelatin, and the average sizes of particles are 310μm. The specific saturation magnetization σ_s is 130.9A·m2/kg, coercivity H_c is 0.823A/m, and residual magnetism r is 4.98Am2/kg for the composite particles. It is shown that the particles possess properties of soft magnetic. The yield stress of magnetorheological fluid(MRF) with composite particle reaches 70kPa at 0.5T magnetic induction. Magnetorheological effects are superior in lower magnetic field intensity and the subsidence stability of the MRF is excellent compared with pure carbonyl iron powder. 展开更多

Use of Chemical Admixtures to Modify the Rheological Behavior of Cementitious Systems Containing Manufactured Aggregates

The use of local materials is an important part of sustainability for the concrete industry. The declining availability of aggregate resources in many areas has the potential to result in the use of alternative aggregates of lower quality, which can require higher cementitious materials contents, or the use of aggregates shipped from greater distance. In some markets, manufactured sands are replacing natural sands, which can adversely impact the rheology of cementitious mixtures. The use of certain chemical admixtures has been found to often minimize the need to increase cement and water contents in order to overcome the loss of workability that can accompany aggregate sources which feature flat, elongated, angular, and rough particles. In this study, a wide range of natural and manufactured sands were characterized for gradation, mineralogy, shape, texture, and cleanliness, and also evaluated for their effect on mortar rheology with and without a VMA (viscosity modifying agent) type chemical admixture. Use of the VMA is shown to mitigate the rheological effect of certain sands, and in some cases can allow for optimizing the mixture to lower paste contents. In the case of PCP (polycarboxylate)-based superplasticizers, attention is drawn to the increased dose required to achieve target workability versus superplasticizers based on NSFC (naphthalene sulfonate condensate) when swellable clays are present in the very fine fraction of certain aggregate sources. The use of sands with higher fines contents are also shown to increase the workability provided the fines are of appropriate quality. 展开更多

In order to study the rheological deformation of backfill material and its long-term stability, given the visco-elastoplastic properties of this material, we introduced a softening and a hardening function for a new nonlinear the- ological model with time-varying parameters. Based on this, we presented the instability condition of this model by using the principle of minimum potential energy. Combined with engineering practice, we cal- culated the urlstable time period of backfill material. The results show that the time of instability of the backfill material relate to the initial parameters of the material, "the coefficients decided by temperature and the ratio of the plastic zone of the backfill material. Based on the results of our analysis from the point of view of energy, we can quickly obtain the time of instability of this model from our graphical analysis. The time of instability of the backfill material obtained from our investigation coincides with an actual project. 展开更多

The quasi-solid-liquid phase transition exists widely in different fields,and attracts more attention due to its instinctive mechanism.The structure of force chains is an important factor to describe the phase transition properties.In this study,the discrete element model(DEM) is adopted to simulate a simple granular shear flow with period boundary condition on micro scale.The quasi-solid-liquid phase transition is obtained under various volume fractions and shear rates.Based on the DEM results,the probability distribution functions of the inter-particle contact force are obtained in different shear flow phases.The normal,tangential and total contact forces have the same distributions.The distribution can be fitted as the exponential function for the liquid-like phase,and as the Weibull function for the solid-like phase.To describe the progressive evolution of the force distribution in phase transition,we use the Weibull function and Corwin-Ngan function,respectively.Both of them can determine the probability distributions in different phases and the Weibull function shows more reasonable results.Finally,the force distributions are discussed to explain the characteristics of the force chain in the phase transition of granular shear flow.The distribution of the contact force is an indicator to determine the flow phase of granular materials.With the discussions on the statistical properties of the force chain,the phase transition of granular matter can be well understood. 展开更多
