以Stairmand旋风分离器、扩散式旋风分离器和环流式旋风分离器为研究对象,采用CFD软件Fluent提供的湍流雷诺应力模型(RSM),研究了内部构件对旋风分离器内二次涡的影响,模拟结果表明:环流式旋风分离器内部导流件有效降低了"上灰环&q... 以Stairmand旋风分离器、扩散式旋风分离器和环流式旋风分离器为研究对象,采用CFD软件Fluent提供的湍流雷诺应力模型(RSM),研究了内部构件对旋风分离器内二次涡的影响,模拟结果表明:环流式旋风分离器内部导流件有效降低了"上灰环"和"短路流",与另两种旋风分离器相比,筒体顶盖及排气管附近二次涡速度分别从23.6和32.1 m×s^(-1)降至10.2和25.7 m×s^(-1),湍动强度分别由2.38%和3.41%减弱到1.61%和2.39%,筒体顶盖涡流尺度的比例因数由0.25减小为0.11。扩散式旋风分离器的反射屏对于削弱"二次扬尘"现象和"颗粒夹带"的影响效果显著,与Stairmand旋风分离器相比,排尘口附近二次涡速度由25.1降至7.3 m×s^(-1),尺度的比例因数、湍动强度均显著降低。结果表明通过合理的增设内部构件对分离器内流场进行导流,可降低二次涡对于流场的影响。 展开更多

A new dimmer using a mental-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) for alternating-current (AC) directly driven light-emitting-diode (LED) lamp was presented. The control method of proposed dimmer is pulse width control (PWM) method. Compared with the conventional phase-controlled dimmer, the proposed PWM dimmer can produce sine wave and did not cause harmonics problem. Furthermore, the proposed control method did not amplify the light flicker due to the independence of input voltage. Therefore, the PWM dimmer can be used as the dimmer of the AC LED lamp instead of the conventional phase-controlled dimmer. The experimental result shows that the proposed PWM dimmer has good performances. 展开更多

Traffic-related pollutants adversely affect air quality, especially in regions near major roadways. The vehicleinduced turbulence(VIT) is a significant factor that controls the initial dilution, dispersion, and ultimately the chemical and physical fate of pollutants by altering the conditions in the microenvironment. This study used a computational fluid dynamics(CFD) software FLUENT to model the vehicle-induced turbulence(VIT) generated on roadways, with a focus on impact of vehicle-vehicle interactions, traffic density and vehicle composition on turbulent kinetic energy(TKE). We show, for the first time, that the overall TKE from multiple vehicles traveling in series can be estimated by superimposing the TKE of each vehicle, without considering the distance between them while the distance is greater than one vehicle length. This finding is particularly significant since it enables a new approach to VIT simulations where the overall TKE is calculated as a function of number of vehicles. We found that the interactions between vehicles traveling next to each other in adjacent lanes are insignificant,regardless the directions of the traffic flow. Consequently, simulations of different traffic scenarios can be substantially simplified by treating two-way traffic as one-way traffic, with less than 5% difference in the overall volume-averaged TKE. We also developed equations that allow the estimation of the overall volume-averaged TKE as a function of the number and the type of vehicles. 展开更多

When the underexpanded supersonic jet impinges on the obstacle, it is well known that the self-induced flow oscillation occurs at the specific condition of the pressure ratio in the flowfield, the position of an obstacle and so on. This oscillation is related with the noise problems of aeronautical and other industrial engineering so that the characteristic and the mechanism of self-induced flow oscillation have to be cleared to control the various noise problems. But, it seems that the characteristics of the oscillated flowfield and the mechanism of oscillation have to be more clear to control the oscillation. This paper aims to clarify the effect of the plate position and the width for the self-induced flow oscillation of an underexpanded supersonic jet impinging on the perpendicular plate by the experiment and the numerical analysis. From the results, it is clear that the occurring domain of the self-induced flow oscillation and its dimension strongly depend on the plate position and the width. 展开更多

Recently, small hydroelectric generators have gained attention as a further development in water turbine technology for ultra low head drops in open channels. The authors have evaluated the application of cross-flow water turbines in open channels as an undershot type after removing the casings and guide vanes to substantially simplify these water turbines. However, because undershot cross-flow water turbines are designed on the basis of cross-flow water turbine runners used in typical pipelines, it remains unclear whether the number of blades has an effect on the performance or flow fields. Thus, in this research, experiments and numerical analyses are employed to study the performance and flow fields of undershot cross-flow water turbines with varying number of blades. The findings show that the turbine output and torque are lower, the fluctuation is significantly higher, and the turbine efficiency is higher for runners with 8 blades as opposed to those with 24 blades. 展开更多
